You fools keep following China...
They will keep buying cheap coins as long as all these "news" move the market to direction they want.
Stop paying attention to China already. Dumb asses

True, if i'm an operator of Chinese exchange, i will find a buyer over sea , setup a payment vehicle and announce " Bank account closed, blah blah ". Market crashed, ppl dump coins, while i buy them cheap. After a week, i make another announcement " we're able to have another banking setup, everything is fine" Awsome..... also, faking volume will help too.

I thought the ban was on bank accounts that deal with BTC exchange and not on BTC trading itself

I thought the ban was on bank accounts that deal with BTC exchange and not on BTC trading itself which is very typical in China. Just like Gold, you cant use bank account to freely trade Gold. This only hurts day traders in China. Speculators and investors are still fine. They can trade among themselves or using offshore trading facilities in HK.

Can we stop with these caps lock titles please?
Also no one said China banned bitcoin it was always about the banking ban and third party which are true.
No one ever said China banned bitcoin not even the rumors said that.

The PBOC is like: you peasants can use your worthless little bits of code all you want, but you wont be able to exchange them for the mighty Chinese Yuan.
Pretty much the same thing as a ban.

There's nothing that says they can't trade their children for Bitcoin. Relax people.

If you read the actual statement it includes virtually no new information. I don't know why people are trading so optimistically on this news. All it does is reiterate that Chinese citizens will not be allowed to exchange yuan for BTC (which we already knew). This is still a huge impediment to adoption as it means that a large group of interested buyers will no longer be able to inject cash into BTC. The stuff he says about not being able to ban bitcoin because it is like stamps etc. I suppose is somewhat good but that was never on the table anyway so I don't know why people would really feel differently after he said that.
