981  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex want to steal money of customers ! SCAM ALERT ! on: March 18, 2018, 08:59:15 AM
How is it I didn't get that alert?
[...]
I too got this email notification but luckily I don't have any of those coins in my account.
[...]
You got or you didn't? "too" and "got" seems to contradict in your statement.

I have not receive an email notification about wallet removal same as @buwaytress, but I believe all users should have been notified regardless if they have those coins in their account or not.  Undecided
982  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: March 18, 2018, 07:22:26 AM
Did anyone have unauthorized attempts to log into your Cryptopia account in the last few days? Is this due to some delay in payments? Could someone attack Cryptopia DDOS?

I read that there were hack attempts on cryptopia a couple days ago.

they tried to hack mine 7 times in the past 3 days ...keep getting failed login attempt emails

likewise.

whats the story here, @Lafu?
I saw posts about the issue on reddit last march 16 and the community manager confirmed that there's no security breached nor hacked within cryptopia. He advised users who experienced failed log in attempt(s) to check their emails on haveibeenpwned.com.

Check yours and see if what site you've signed up to have been breached.
For more info, check complete post at : Failed login attempt? Check haveibeenpwned.com

@Lafu could confirm this as well here.

If you have any problems with them, write to them by e-mail. I was finally credited with the deposit
can u send me email support?
Do you mean the email address to contact them? If yes, you can send them a message at support@mercatox.com
Another way is to log in your account in the site and go to https://mercatox.com/support

It's nice to know that they are resolving issues.
984  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt Gox confirms he didn't crash the market, panic sellers did (again) on: March 17, 2018, 11:38:29 PM
A single tweet could destroy all technical analysis, for instance, Trump making a positive tweet about bitcoin, Jeff Bezos making a positive tweet about Bitcoin, or anyone with influence could pump the price and end the bear market, and technical analysts would say that their TA predicted it...

Bitcoin is too new of an asset, people can't properly value it, it's impossible to call the start or end of bull or bear markets.
This is true. Whether it is bad or good news especially when it become trending, people hesitate (to hodl, buy, sell  Huh). News (and source maybe) have a big impact in people's decision (well mostly) regardless if it's true or not, right? That's because reaction/judgement comes first, it's rare that people search/confirm how legit the news was.
985  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [HELP] for all bounty hunters, who end up not reward on: March 17, 2018, 05:15:59 PM
By searching, I saw that there's already an existing scam accusation thread about Bezop bounty here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3043384.0 . I suggest you to close this thread and continue the discussion with other bounty participants there.
986  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex want to steal money of customers ! SCAM ALERT ! on: March 17, 2018, 04:32:30 PM
People that trust BINANCE I think they are wrong
binance  Does not work and You can not even access your account in crashes , Is this a site?
What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with Binance, the topic is about Bittrex. Stop spamming here.

I remind you that until now thousands of accounts have been blocked for withdrawal of funds and even for trading on the exchange.
Most likely Bittrex will not do anything about those accounts that were blocked/on hold/unable to do trades or withdrawals. They will surely defend using their TOS, it was clearly stated there that "Bittrex will have no liability or responsibility" if anything like that happens, and you agree to that terms the time that you started using the site.

Unfortunately, there's no way to get the coins.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using MEW to access an EIDOO wallet on: March 17, 2018, 03:51:25 PM
Since your coins came from bounties, they are new and most likely not in coinmarketcap. Once they got listed there or the owner submit it on Eidoo, it will automatically recognized by the wallet.

Going back to your question, it is possible to access your wallet using your 12 word back up phrase or your private key. For a complete guide on how to retrieve your eidoo private key, visit https://medium.com/eidoo/how-to-backup-eidoo-private-keys-ce2a7ebdae7f
988  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Rightbtc exchange scam on: March 17, 2018, 01:51:37 PM
I just heard that exchange here, thanks for the heads up.

I commented on the coinmarketcap thread and let them know about this shady behavior. Hopefully they will remove this market from their listing. Yea, I really should have googled it first, but I loaded up the exchange and saw trades going through. Figured it would be fine for such a low amount of money. That was my mistake. Hopefully a lot of people see this and avoid this exchange at all cost.
I hope they could read your post and response/take action. Though there's no assurance, isn't it still better to fill out the request form (you can see in the CMC main post)? By choosing "others > something else" you will be able to leave a feedback.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IMPORTANT. Bittrex remove some coins. on: March 17, 2018, 12:26:56 AM
A bit confusing title, you should have used "will" and would be better if you include the date too.
Anyway, I also wonder why Bittrex did not send an email notice about it. Not even posted in their twitter account Huh Imagine how users will react once the wallets are removed and they weren't able to withdraw their coins because of not being aware of it.

There will be Market Removals as well:

Pending Market Removals 3/23/2018
The following markets will be removed on March 23rd, 2018:
  BTC-PDC
  BTC-GCR
  BTC-CLUB
  BTC-CPC

Pending Market Removals 3/30/2018
The following markets will be removed on March 30th, 2018:
  BTC-FAIR
  BTC-START

990  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cryptocapital.co SCAM ? on: March 16, 2018, 10:33:07 PM
Did you ever get an answer from them? I am in the same situation, only with a lot more money involved. Transfer from CC has been demanded 14 days ago and I have no updates.
It seems to be a waiting game.  Embarrassed
It's best to avoid using cryptocapital.co after you get this issue resolved. They have worked like this since 2016, see post here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1683368.0 , recent posts were made just last feb 2018. They seem to send the money, however, it really takes a month or more
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I GOT MY ETH STOLEN FROM COINDESK ARTICLE on: March 16, 2018, 09:11:35 PM
The best way you can do to avoid phishing websites is to type the URL MANUALLY in the address bar and still double check. DO NOT click external links.

That is the new tactic of hackers/phishing sites, using the original spelling of the URL, BUT the letters used have special characters. Not checking the URL twice or more make your account at risk. The link you've visited have a dot under letter i on fake coindesk plus above letter e and under letter a on fake MEW. You might encounter the same in the future or even worst, so be extra careful from now on.

I reported the domains in EtherAddressLookup chrome extension.

EDIT:
It's interesting, where did you get that first link to the fake coindesk website?
Most likely in his email account. I received a spam email from an account pretending to be Coindesk regarding "EOS Launches Airdrop, Cuts Block.one", since it was on spam folder, images and links are disabled. Also I'm not into visiting links from email, unless verification emails from trusted sources.
992  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEX.io holding BTC deposit on: March 16, 2018, 08:30:27 PM
I wonder why they responded you about bankcard  Huh An automated response?
Wait for their reply since you've provided some documents already. You might want to include your user ID and support ticket number in your post as well, so that when CEX account here in the forum see this thread he could also report/follow up the problem to their team.
993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptopia... on: March 16, 2018, 03:35:57 PM
Several users have posted on Cryptopia subreddit that they are getting emails of failed log in attempt from a different IP. Those users are thinking that Cryptopia was hacked, but the community manager/mod assured that there has been no security breach nor hack within their system.

Enabling 2FA really helps in this kind of situation. Secure your account.

For those who are looking for source, just go : https://www.reddit.com/r/Cryptopia/
For the specific link of the community manager's post : Failed login attempt? Check haveibeenpwned.com

994  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✰ coin-board.io ✰ PWA that track prices in reatime on: March 15, 2018, 10:40:22 PM
I think he/she is referring to adding ETH and other cryptos to the left drop down menu (where we can view prices based on USD, BTC and EUR).

Oh right - that makes sense. I'll put it on the TODO list. Smiley

Thanks!
Exactly! SFR10 got it right. Even just the common coins to be paired with (eg. ETH, LTC, Doge) Thanks

So you are planning to add a registration in the future. Does Favorite/Save feature of specific coin(s) included in your to-do list as well? If yes, that would be great Smiley Good luck on your development.
995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Plagiarism in Whitepapers, what do you think? on: March 15, 2018, 09:24:52 PM
Most ICOs and especially bounty campaigns seem to use plagiarized content in some capacity. I rarely read ICOs so can't comment on that but half of them just rehash the same templates or just copy what somebody has already previously posted on their ANN/Bounty thread. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it was the same group of people behind half of them as well. Probably too good to be true for scammers to resist so they just keep them running constantly. People keep seeming to give them their money for half-baked ideas so I can't see why they would stop creating them.

You're absolutely correct! Although this project that I was reading has a huge user base, so I assumed the whitepaper would've been of good quality.

It's worrying, and I think the way forward is to try and educate people so they don't fall for these scams as easily.
Regardless of the user base volume, the white paper should be of good quality and shouldn't be or have a plagiarized content. It will start there right ~ projects with plagiarized white paper + fake images of the team = trying to scam. If they are really serious about the project, why wouldn't they do it in a proper way?

If only all investors read every project's white paper they're into investing, maybe chances of being scammed will be narrowed. It's every individual's responsibility in the first place
996  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: GateHub & XRP reserve on: March 15, 2018, 08:37:37 PM
As I understand, the 20 XRP serves as the payment for the space in the ledger. You can't withdraw it. No matter what, the information/transactions that have been made with that account was already stored in the ledger and you pay for it even if the account will not be used any longer.

Visit the link, a good discussion and explanation about the issue : Fully remove all XRP from an account.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problems with Cardano (Daedalus) Wallet on: March 14, 2018, 11:10:48 PM
That's a common problem with Daedalus Wallet. Option gave by denis-z12 is working, but if it won't in your case, you could try other options posted in IOHK statement: connecting to network issue. I quoted it below (Visit the link for images):

Quote
A small number of users are experiencing a problem connecting to the network, and are seeing Daedalus stuck on a blue screen with the “connecting to network” message.

The development team has analyzed the issue using logs received from the users and four different variations of this issue have been identified.

We expect that most people will be able to fix their issue with the help of the information below. If the problem persists however, please submit a bug report154 using the link on the Daedalus site.

1. Time on the user’s machine is not in sync with the network.

If the time on the user’s machine is off by 20 seconds or more from the internet time it is not possible to connect to the network. To fix this issue the user needs to synchronize the time on the computer where Daedalus is running with NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers, by using the setting of their operating system. Instructions how to do this are provided in the FAQ on Daedalus website.

To avoid this issue in future, Daedalus will indicate to users when the time on their machine is out of sync with the internet time, and display a message and provide instructions to solve the problem. This feature is currently being tested and it will be rolled out in one of the upcoming updates.

2. When the user closes Daedalus, in rare cases the Cardano node which is running in the background is not completely shut down too. This causes the connecting to network problem the next time that Daedalus is started.

The Cardano node hadn’t shut down properly when the user closed Daedalus. This may prevent Daedalus from connecting to network next time it is started.
The development team has identified the cause of the Cardano node not properly shutting down, and the fix has been implemented. It will be shipped in one of the upcoming updates to the software. As a temporary workaround users should try restarting their computers.

3. After successful installation Daedalus may be unable to start if the computer’s user account name contains certain Chinese characters.

In some cases Daedalus installation completes successfully, but an error occurs in the generation of certificates during the installation process that are used to encrypt and secure communication between Daedalus and the Cardano node (part of the software that is shipped with Daedalus and runs in the background, ie users do not see it). This issue was resolved, and the update will be released with one of the upcoming Cardano updates. As a temporary workaround, users should try creating a user account on their computer that uses Latin characters.

4. Daedalus can’t use port 8090 because it is already used by some other process on the user’s device or is blocked by a firewall.

A fix for this issue cannot be provided but the development of a new feature is planned that will display details about this issue.

Quote
Easier problem reporting

A feature is currently being built which will allow easier problem reporting directly from the Daedalus user interface. Users will be able to attach logs to error reports without the need to look for the files on their hard drive. Logs that will be sent do not contain sensitive information and users will be able to review what is being sent before submitting the report.

This will make reporting issues much simpler and will speed up the process of analyzing and fixing problems.

5 . Wallet Syncing Slowly

The wallet interacts with nodes in the Cardano system to bring itself up to date with the current state of the blockchain. It does this in “chunks” of slots that are retreived then applied to bring the wallet’s copy of the blockchain up to date.

International network conditions - in particular loss rates (where packets find buffers at an intermediate router full and are discarded) - can have a significant effect on the rate at which this syncing takes place, so there are plans in Shelly to make better choices of relays based on prevailing network conditions.

We are receiving reports that the wallet will almost sync, then appear (if left a long time) to get further behind. This is typically fixed by a restart of the wallet. We are tracking down the root cause of this issue.
998  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Sinks As Google Moves To Ban All Crypto, ICO Ads In June on: March 14, 2018, 08:34:56 PM
Personally, I don't click on google ads. I think it's not a big deal for users, maybe for the advertisers yes. I've seen several posts about being scammed and victim of phishing sites because they clicked on google search result which most likely is the ad because it shows first.

Isn't it good that Facebook and Google want to protect their users from scammers/phishers/hackers through their ads regardless of the revenue they might get if they allow it?
999  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✰ coin-board.io ✰ PWA that track prices in reatime on: March 14, 2018, 05:54:30 PM
The idea of seeing prices on different market at once is great. Also, users are able to choose specific exchanges (via checkboxes) and coin to view (via search bar). For sure, those who do arbitrage will be your main visitors in the future.

How many coins are listed by the way (20-21)? I asked because most of the coins that I'm holding aren't there yet even they are available on the exchanges. As of now, that's what I could suggest, to add other coins, exchanges, and digital currency conversion (like Eth).

PS. I noticed that in the currency, the image you use is $ and it is not changing even the user choose BTC
1000  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC SCAM Proof on: March 14, 2018, 03:21:07 AM
i am sure; suicide can't solve anything.
What if i told you 'everyone thinking i am a liar and my whole family members gone away from me and my business f.cked up now' you still want to be on life ?
If you lost everything and no way to take back, still want to ......?

I will do that because not about money. It's about my lost. maybe with that money, i can solve some problems as 'i am not liar', 'i owe you, take your money, sorry', 'yes, we can eat food again', 'we have not sell our home anymore' etc... then maybe start again social relations from zero.

or not.

i don't know.
You shouldn't invest all your money in crypto and rely on it to support your family and daily needs in the first place. Anyway it has been done, you are still alive, you should live and prove them wrong. Continue seeking help from HitBTC support, and patiently wait if they said so even if it took long, don't flood them with tickets.

Don't you have a job btw?
