981  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User Jakers: Beware on: January 27, 2013, 06:22:12 PM
Wow. Looks like he got the guy above me too.

I can absolutely co sign on what Kalm is saying. This Jakers guy is a SCAMMER.

I made a thread trying to sell my $100 walmart gift cards. He said he would purchase three at the rate we negotiated which was 12.75 BTC for all three gc's.

We began the trade well over 24 hours ago. More like 30 hours ago actually. At first he claimed to be waiting on email confirmation from walmart.com after he used the gc's to purchase new gc's.

He claims to have received the first gc code but the second two had not arrived yet. While I had no way to verify this, we agreed to wait another 5-6 hours at the most and he send 4.25 BTC for the first gc while I waited.

He claimed to be waiting on a LR-->BTC trade and that was the last I heard from him. I have messaged him multiple times only to be ignored. He hops on and offline pretty regularly.

I have the message log to prove what I am saying. I have every message he sent me and started saving my outbox messages to him once he stopped responding.

Prove us wrong Jakers.

You guys must be into shooting dice and flipping coins.
985  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Charge-back scam on: January 26, 2013, 11:50:43 PM
Scammers are about 75% of the equation. You are missing the other 25%.

The missing 25% is PayPal itself. Even when a scam artist makes a seemingly successful payment that is not charged back quickly, PayPal is an inherently suspicious entity. When they see funds coming into your account by means that they cannot immediately identify, it throws up a red flag. They will beat the scammer to it and just freeze your funds themselves. Then there are the patterns. If they notice patterns they don't like they'll limit your account. Of course they want all type of documents, but their reasoning is always some generic security risk bs.

Then there's the final "We classify you as a money services business and therefore cannot do business with you anymore because you did not let us know up front." This exists. Basically, they are telling you that they are going to do whatever they want with your money for 6 months. Probably buy gourmet pizzas for their staff and shit.

Moral of the story is you are not just playing vs. scammers when dealing with paypal. You are playing against Paypal TOO.

It's like a 2 on 1 basketball game. You may be able to keep up for a while. If you are really good, you may even be able to take the lead for a while. But most of the time the numbers catch up to you. The scammers know they can always pass the ball to paypal and paypal will dunk on your ass.

bang bang.

This is what we call staking in the poker world. He is looking to be staked.

Hardup, do you post on 2p2?

I may be interested in staking you. I'm going to need to see some verifiable stats using sharkscope or something. Also I would like to know your game of expertise. Are you a cash gamer or tourney player?

Hit me up.
987  Economy / Games and rounds / Small Poker League on Seals? on: January 26, 2013, 10:01:18 AM
Anyone interested in getting a small weekly league running on seals with clubs?

I'm thinking maybe 9-27 people, weekly tournament with a predetermined buy-in.

Poker players step up.

Agreed
989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoins on eBay analysis on: January 26, 2013, 09:43:15 AM
Using pp debit cards is too sticky. You're getting into a sensitive area there because pp requires ssn to get debit cards. I'm not screwing with any ssn but my own. Of course, if it is your account, go for it. But if it is a burner account you have to get creative on how to cash out.
990  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [SELL] $100 Wal Mart Gift Cards on: January 26, 2013, 05:17:22 AM
Bumping this.

I will take 5 BTC for each $100 Walmart gc.

5 is about $85.
991  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoins on eBay analysis on: January 26, 2013, 01:30:47 AM
Why sell so much over the price? 40% is ridiculous you can probably make much more sales if you sell say 10% over price.

But why sell for 10% over when your customers (I use that term loosely when referring to ebay bitcoin buyers) are willing to pay 40%-50% over?

Personally I have hit my selling limit of $5000 in 2 days before. The scammers will buy regardless of price.

994  Economy / Marketplace / Re: $25 Restaurant.com card for 0.24 BTC (-85% off face value) on: January 25, 2013, 09:32:49 PM
I may be interested. How do we do this?
995  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [SELL] $100 Wal Mart Gift Cards on: January 25, 2013, 06:29:39 PM
We can use escrow. I am trying to make this happen.
996  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you heard of Litecoin? 2 FREE LITECOINS FOR SIGNING UP on: January 25, 2013, 08:13:49 AM

Thanks. I don't see them in my wallet though. They move faster than BTC right?
997  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How the hell does bitcoin-otc work? on: January 25, 2013, 08:10:57 AM
Ok ok.

Thanks to john for the step by step. Honestly, I was still lost after I read it.

But then...

Artuk came with the explanation for simpletons (i.e. me) and now the step by step makes a bit more sense.

Anyway, thank you to you both. I sent .1 BTC to each of you.

Thanks again. I'm gonna try my hand at this.

999  Other / Beginners & Help / How the hell does bitcoin-otc work? on: January 25, 2013, 07:43:19 AM
I feel kind of goofy because everyone on here refers to their "web of trust" rating on bitcoin-otc, yet I cannot even figure out how to use it.

I registered on there and I want to utilize it but I'm just freaking confused.

Is it just a chat room and open order book?

I read the wiki on it but I still dont get it. How to I contact buyers and sellers to set up transactions? I see no contact info there and that chat room sucks.

Someone explain please. I will donate 0.1 BTC to whomever helps me understand best.
1000  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So has anybody ever actually WON a chargeback? (as btc seller) on: January 25, 2013, 07:06:32 AM
As a seller I have won two disputes in the past. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why. I did nothing they asked me to do. I did not furnish any paperwork or anything. I guess they just noticed some odd buying patterns on behalf of the buyers and figured they'd let me win a couple.

There is no rhyme or reason to their "system." Just be prepared to lose most of the time.

My advice remains the same with pp- cash out quickly. Yeah, you may get limited, but at least you will have cash in hand before shit hits the fan. Word up.
