981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market has run down again on: August 02, 2018, 07:14:06 PM
hy all
What do you think could be  the problem of this sudden drop in market, everywhere is in deep red & how can volatile-ness in crypto market be reduced to the lowest minimum brim(like a bench-marked prize) ,please outline how this can be solved.
There is nothing to solve, a low price is not always a sign that something is wrong, many people are incredibly upset by what it is happening but they were not upset when the price of bitcoin touched 19k despite the fact that was clearly a distortion in the price of bitcoin and that it was going to be impossible to maintain it, your only option is to wait until things get better, I know that is not the most comfortable thing to do but it is the only way to make money with a low risk.
982  Economy / Speculation / Re: what could cause bitcoin prices to go up and down? on: August 02, 2018, 05:19:32 PM
I want to know what you think, what affects the bitcoin price, so we can find out when to sell and buy bitcoin, because now the bitcoin price drops again  Huh
The markets are not that simple, if it was that easy then no one will lose money in the markets, the reason the price of bitcoin crashed as it did was because it was overvalued, bitcoin could not maintain that price since there was nothing to support it since most of the growth was caused by speculation, the current price is in my opinion closer to the reality of bitcoin as a currency, but as you can see it is impossible to predict exactly when the crash is going to happen, it could have happened at 15k or at 30k but everyone with some knowledge about trading knew the crash was coming.
983  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the reasons why you must take risk in crypto market? on: August 01, 2018, 10:55:12 PM
Because electronic money is the place that can give me the fastest wealth. I believe that I will soon find luck in investing.
This is the wrong way to look at this, if you are going to rely on your luck in order to make money in this market then you are mistaken, while there are some people that made money that way the majority made money through hard work and by studying very hard the whitepapers of many coins and then taking the time to verify the identities of the developers, if you are not willing to go through all of that trouble your chances of making money in this market are very low.
984  Economy / Economics / Re: When will smartphones used for bitcoin mining? on: August 01, 2018, 10:12:27 PM
This is very impractical question in my opinion. We already have miners for this, making it compact for mobile means more cost.

True, there is a reason the process is called mining, what it is more cost effective a vehicle designed to move ten tons or ten vehicles that can move one ton each? In theory it does not sound bad to be able to mine with a smartphone but the moment you see that a smartphone will never be able to compete with the profitability of a dedicated miner the idea losses all of its charm, it is not practical to do it and as such to think even about the possibility of such a thing happening is a waste of time.
985  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin value on: August 01, 2018, 09:28:24 PM
What does this even mean? If you were to add all the energy consumed by the financial sector? What energy does the financial sector use? Second, the criticism on Bitcoin is that it uses all this power for virtually no good reason. It is necessary based on the way it is constructed to consume all this power to run the decentralized network, but essentially nobody needs the decentralized network because it's not solving a real world problem that was needing to be solved. Centralized systems do what Bitcoin does for such a fraction of the power needs it wouldn't even be measurable. That's the criticism on the power front. The analogy to the financial system is puzzling because the "financial system" isn't a defined network like Bitcoin is, and the power consumption by Bitcoin relative to the utility is so overkill that the comparison on the face of it seems ridiculous before you even look at any numbers whatsoever.
It means exactly what I said, I have seen some calculations that put the financial sector as responsible for the use of 12% of the energy of the whole planet and if bitcoin were to take its place it will be more efficient, so all of those that say that bitcoin is unsustainable because it consumes a huge amount of energy are lying and are trying to use the excuse that bitcoin is not green enough to stop its adoption, but it is not going to work, and second bitcoin uses all that energy to secure the network so it is not useless.
986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is better than Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2018, 08:50:50 PM
I think that the ethereum is a good coin but not better than bitcoin. Bitcoin is a brand, this is the vertex of the crypto currency. And the ethereum is a simple altcoin that quietly goes to its target.
This is something that many do not understand, this is the market of bitcoin, while some call it the market of cryptocurrencies that is wrong, all this market and the huge amounts of money moving within it will never have existed if it was not for bitcoin, bitcoin owns this market and in my opinion this is always going to be the case, so all of those wishing that this changes have no idea what they are talking about because the moment bitcoin goes down the market will go down with it.
987  Economy / Economics / Re: How does bitcoin become a currency? on: August 01, 2018, 07:42:53 PM
In the beginning, BTC could be used to exchange of low value of virtual items, such as buying web sites or game points, virtual items, etc., afterwards, some people in order to get these virtual items, items may be in online auction own reality for BTC, others want to buy the real goods, but no BTC at hand, and then use real money to exchange BTC, as a result, BTC begin to flow, and have a "value".

In other words, bitcoin is inherently valuable as a means of payment; If it loses its function as a means of payment, it becomes worthless.

The value of money: it exists because of payment.
You are close but that is not exactly right, why gold was the most widely used form of money through the world? Because it has the best characteristics to become a currency, bitcoin was designed specifically to be an even better form of money than gold and that is why since the beginning it had some value, but bitcoin is also a network and the bigger the network the bigger the value of it, this is why the price of bitcoin keeps increasing despite the fact that bitcoin is not widely used as a currency.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is bounty programs to the overall success of icos? on: July 31, 2018, 09:16:31 PM
To my mind, it is unlikely to contribute to the overall success as bounty campaigns can contribute only to a certain ico project, however, i can be mistaken because i have taken part only twice
Bounty campaigns are critical to the success of a project but the campaign can also lead to its downfall, in this forum people are very sensitive to any kind of activity that may indicate the behavior of a scammer, I have seen bounty campaigns trying to change their terms in the middle of the campaign and as you may guess this is very dishonest since most of the time the change favors the devs and not the bounty hunters, and those people receive an immediate neg from a DT2 member and their campaign is ruined, they deserve it of course, but the campaign now will go against them since their participants a now are going to recommend to everyone to not participate in the ico.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had to put all of your money into only 1 crypto, which would it be? on: July 31, 2018, 08:28:03 PM
This, of course, is a terrible idea.
It's not like the movies where someone goes all in on one thing and then wins big.
That's more like gambling, and how many people actually "win big" in gambling?

There are more reasons to spread out your portfolio instead of just lowering risks though.
A big part of it is hedging assets against each other.
This is important so you can get maximum benefit from a certain type of asset.
For example, it's not like just going all in on google stock back in the 90s was the way to go.
In reality, it would be better to have both google and amazon.
Same prinicipal applies to crypto as well.
Diversification is a way to protect yourself from losing catastrophically and not a way to make money, if you want to make a substantial amount of money fast in a market then you need to go all in when you buy a coin, is this the best move? No, but it is the one that can give the greatest profits if you select the right coin, and also it can be a very conservative move if you select bitcoin as the coin in which you invest all your money since the chances that bitcoin disappears overnight are zero.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make cash without investing? on: July 31, 2018, 07:52:22 PM
How can I earn cash without investing? Can I earn a thousand dollars without investing or buying first?
It is possible but there are only two ways to make money, by investing money something that you have told to us you do not want to do or by using your time, energy and skills and offering your services and products in the internet, are you willing to work hard for it? Because if you do not then you need to forget about making that kind of money since very few people in the forum are pulling out that kind of money consistently, another way is to try to trade but that is a route that most of the time leads to failure and not to success.
991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best and Worst Case Scenario for Bitcoin on: July 31, 2018, 05:13:48 PM
Guys yesterday had a conversation with a friend and we found ourselves discussing this issue: What is the best and worst case scenario for Bitcoin?
From the conversation it emerged (this is not from using bitcoin as investment vehicle) purely by assuming we understood the objectives of Satoshi lol! would be:
Worst case scenario: It is overtaken by govt cartels and it becomes another type of gold just a store of value with huge transaction fees, also it finds a stable price which does not augur well with "investors" and thus the perceived bitcoin bubble maybe a price of $3000 maybe not a pessimistic though  Grin
Best case scenario: Bitcoin lives to serve its purpose of being the internet currency with global adoption of-course "rekting" government and other central capitalistic entities. In a nutshell promoting financial inclusion worldwide.
Those are just thoughts of guys who were having a beer and maybe we thought too much but anyways members can contribute hoping to be roasted as well for my bitcoin newbie thoughts Grin
The worst case scenario is that bitcoin disappears and nothing replaces it, an scenario in which the powerful take control of bitcoin could happen but what it is stopping us to adopt another cryptocurrency and make it the new bitcoin? Even if the project launched by satoshi is not the one that becomes successful at the end if a cryptocurrency is the one to to becomes a safeguard against governments tyranny then the vision of satoshi will be fulfilled.
992  Economy / Speculation / Re: Invest on Bitcoin now or wait? on: July 29, 2018, 11:50:47 PM
I missed the last dip and am wondering if I should hold out for another oucoming dip or if the current price for Bitcoin are still decent.
Invest now, if you have the money and you understand the market and its potential then you need to invest now, people are wasting too much time waiting for a cheap price that may never come again, you need to concentrate on what you have in front of your eyes, many people especially those that bought in December will give everything they have to be able to change their decision and buy now instead of buying when they did, do not waste the opportunity or you may live to regret it for the rest of your life.
993  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning day trading on: July 29, 2018, 11:11:35 PM
Recently I asked about day trading tips on this forum and got really nice response. Some one introduced me to Voodoo day trading community where I found perfect atmosphere to learn day trading and technical analysis: https://discord.gg/yBmNzRm  I have spent last whole week in the free channel in the group and learnt some interesting tricks and earned a decent amount of money.

Although free channel has helped me immensely so far but it feels like to reach the next level, I have to join paid channel. I wanted to ask that is it worth to pay for learning day trading or I could found free stuff instead? This forum has been a great help to me in past. I hope I will get some valuable feedback this time too.
Is it OK to pay to learn day trading? Yes, is it necessary to learn from a particular group or person? No, if you pay for a course you are going to need to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars and you are going to pay that kind of money for information that you can find in a book, this is why I always recommend to people to learn how to learn from books, not only it is easier and faster but it is way cheaper as well, but if you think it is worth the shot then do it but be very mindful of the price.
994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: how do you find new bounties? on: July 29, 2018, 09:44:02 PM
I am using this agregator https://bountygalaxy.com.
They add new bounties every day - all projects which were publicated in Bounty thread on BCT + some interesting bounties which using their own bounty dashboards.
The website was just started but the roadmap of development looks good.
To me it does not seem like a good idea to use centralized services like those, it may seem like a good idea but it is not, because if you use that service then that means a lot more people do the same and the campaigns get filled in minutes, I have seen people complaining of this already, while the campaigns that do not appear in those sites have a small number of members and if the coin is any good you could keep most of the tokens for yourself and make a lot of money when the coin skyrockets.
995  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto replacing fiat? on: July 29, 2018, 05:42:53 PM
Lets say crypto completely and utterly replaced fiat. Fiats don't exist anymore. All governments have seen the advantage of using digital currency and have completely changed their fiat into crypto, like dollar to dollar token(obviously not tether). How viable is this? For example anyone can see how much I am holding using the public ledger and track me down and force me into sending them the cryptos I hold. I wanna discuss in reality if cryptos actually replace fiat how life will be and what are the problems we are gonna face and the immediate effects of it.
In your scenario you are predicting that the governments create their own crypto, this means they will know exactly how much money you are holding since banks and governments in your scenario would have become a single entity but no one else will have access to that information so you will not have to worry, but that is not what we want, what we want is that bitcoin takes control over the economy and if that happens you have nothing to worry about that either since you do not have to give up your identity to open a wallet.
996  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the bitcoin price rise again? on: July 29, 2018, 05:13:01 PM
from a few days ago bitcoin prices have indeed gone up slowly, but I do not know if this recovery is really real or just manipulation only. we just need to be careful, and do not be influenced FUD, because it will cause harm and disappointment.
This recovery is impulsed by only one thing and that is the decision of the SEC, if the SEC gives a positive decision then this recovery is going to keep going for sometime but if that does not happen you can be sure that the small recovery we are seeing will disappear, that is why we need to keep our eyes open that what it is going to happen in the future regarding this decision, I really hope the SEC gives us a positive decision but I'm not so sure it is going to happen.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins will die due to Bitcoin bull run(ETF, big institutional investors)? on: July 28, 2018, 07:31:38 PM
Hi, crypto enthusiasts!
I am thinking about recent situation on the crypto market. It seems that Bitcoin found the bottom and big investments are coming, but if you look at altcoins, almost every altcoin is bleeding and money is now moving into Bitcoin. Current Bitcoin dominance 47%!
Donīt you think that this could be end for many altcoins? Big institutional investors will not invest into altcoins...
What is your opinion.
Thank you!

Not all altcoins are going to disappear but I have no doubt that we are about to witness the death of many altcoins, I will not miss any of those coins that are completely useless but there are some good projects that may be caught in the crossfire and could disappear if there is no interest coming from the community, because I agree with what you say in your post, institutional investors are not going to take the risk of investing in an unknown altcoin, they are going to buy only bitcoin and at most some selected altcoins like ethereum and litecoin.
998  Economy / Economics / Re: Be greedy when others are fearful... on: July 28, 2018, 05:24:50 PM
Buffet is a very clever and prominent person but it seems me tha the often has some inside information before making investing decisions but anyway I respect him very much. It seems me that he describes 2 stages of market. The first in is an oversold stage where you need to buy to reap some later and the second one is an overbought stage which is usually named as ephoria where you need to sell all your assets before a crash or a deep correction phase.
You must understand that there are different levels of inside information, inside information is not illegal in itself, so there is nothing wrong with what he or anyone is doing, in fact if you are a fundamental investor you want to have as much information as you can before making any kind of investment in a company, and with his reputation it is obvious to me that even if he forgot everything about how to invest he will still very successful since he will have trusted people to him giving him hot tips about which company to select to invest.
999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 10k$ at this time? on: July 28, 2018, 04:38:36 PM
BTC is trying to grow up and I think BTC correction period is over and it is time to break all previous record and finally reach new value. So guya what's your perdition about BTC?! Please explain your perdition.
The correction is over that is correct but that does not mean that the price of bitcoin is going to go up in a bull market immediately, these things take time to form and even if the price of bitcoin has gone up in the last week this is caused by the rumors that the SEC may give a positive ruling in August, but if that does not happen then we are going to go back to where we began with the price of bitcoin at 6000 for a very long time, so take this time to get bitcoin and wait for the bull market no matter how long it takes.
1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is better than Bitcoin? on: July 28, 2018, 04:07:51 PM
There is no doubt about Etherum very good coins. But Bitcoin is more trusted cryptocurrency then that of Ethereum. The potential of bitcoin is still at the peak and also ethereum is still below bitcoin. Bitcoin is higher in popularity and also more users than ethereum. Ethereum is of course a good coin and I think that it will grow in price and perhaps even more than Bitcoin, but Ethereum is not better than Bitcoin and Ethereum will not be able to bypass the capitalization in the coming years.
The problem for ethereum is that it is never going to be as trusted as bitcoin, the community does not forget and it does not forgive and there are many people that refuse to hold any Ethereum and any of the coins that were created in its platform because of what happened with the DAO, however once the iinfluence of the bitcoin community decays because the average person has adopted cryptocurrencies then Ethereum will have its chance to try to surpass bitcoin but at the same time there is no doubt that the coin that will be used the most by the average person will be bitcoin so ethereum has no viable strategy to take bitcoin's spot.
