Who is Exter and why did he build a pyramid?

This is going to blow your mind but Exter was on the board of the Federal reserve .    Before the gold standard fell and the system fell into the dark side the ironic thing was that the Federal reserve underlined how solid value under pins more speculative ventures.

Not that there is anything wrong with risk, various debt, bonds and the whole spectrum of variable quality papers of value being exchanged.  The Exters triangle just outlines how the most stretched unclear values ultimately rely on far more boring things as gold.

Thats why its clear gold and bitcoin are not interchangable.  Bitcoin could be great, might keep on growing but its transactional not a fixed asset and clearly its value is highly changeable.    Its foolish to keep all value in 1 asset type, gold is inert and not massively useful but it does function as money for thousands of years now.   I dont disagree with silver or even copper and many other alternatives but they all tend to be more industrial which comes back to flucuation of supply and demand and variable value.   Gold on the other hand doesnt ever change and roughly is supplied in line with population growth, its far more steady in value then most.   Something like 1% is rational allocation, if people cant hold that much they are either not especially wealthy which is fine and normal even or they are not rational in risk avoidance.  Gambling is a common past time but not the good gamblers cash out profits at day end

Thats why I suggest changing the thread title is really the normal protocol for large changes to notify everyone subscribed or involved with that thread previously.   Obviously changing the opening post for big news is also the done thing.

Thread Title shows on watchlists, where as a single post in 66 pages of comments is easily lost.   I've seen this happen before unfortunately,  I would stress patience but I also understand people like to settle to remove uncertainty.
9803  Economy / Services / Re: Need help from green trusted member on: January 15, 2018, 10:36:36 AM
I will handle this for you if you like and I have done similar a few years back as noted in my trust.   Its not a massive deal, just pm your contact details and the exact task for the coin wanted etc.     There are escrow services, sounds similar to a request they might be involved in.
I'm pretty sure my posting style is consistent for every month I've ever posted over the years here.     I've also made 5x as many posts elsewhere on other forums if you needed further reference
9804  Economy / Services / Re: 🌟🌟🌟 [FULL] JETWIN Signature Campaign 🌟🌟🌟 on: January 14, 2018, 04:10:09 PM
Hi notaek, i have noticed that the fees for the transaction were too low, and that is the reason of why two days have passed and it is still pending.

Consider that it will never go through with a fee of 115 satoshis per byte, since it is a huge transaction (more than 46 outputs) anyway, maybe it is going to get confirmed if a miracle happens. (like last week, fee's were the same and it got confirmed three days later)

It has confirmed today I noticed.   There is a guide you can see here to the current state of transaction backlog and how likely a certain fee level is going to clear:  https://dedi.jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1w

To roughly interpret that, it shows 100 sat and above is the kind of danger zone.  Any lower is certainly going to struggle, the grey block is  100 to 140 Satoshi per Byte and may get cleared and a fee above that sees varying clearance times.     Overall its a situation the protocol should address as soon as they can, all they are doing now is helping to promote alternatives.   I dont know if bcash is spamming to provoke this or its naturally occurred
9805  Economy / Gambling / Re: Steam Gambling - Service to create your own gambling website ! on: January 14, 2018, 07:47:44 AM
Steam gambling would imply the skins can be deposited.   Thats slightly controversial as Valve doesnt encourage use of skins as a cash proxy.  Some old sites I used have turned to using a secondary site to take skins and then forward a credit balance to the actual gambling site.

If this forward transaction was done via crypto currency of some kind, hopefully one with low fees and fast easy movement then it could be interesting.   I favour the POS coins for that kind of simple use as the network is run by the users wallets not some foreign miners ramping up fees.

I dont see any example of Green Button usage, ie. actual steam integration and thats the only reason I clicked on this thread.   If you want to sell a service then its going to need something to view surely  Undecided

A smarter deal might be some kind of % fees take on the success of a site that is setup, franchising can be far more lucrative.   I would consider that path if you are genuinely able to setup people up fast with working operations
9806  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: January 14, 2018, 07:38:32 AM
Pretty much every gambling site on the internet ever made is like this, the bonus is only really available after its been gambled a few times.  Some places are ridiculous and some a bit fairer but theres nowhere that allows straight withdrawl of a bonus or it'd be free cash.   If that ever existed it didnt continue for long

So how is the bonus system working now a days?

I bought some lottery ticket with my hourly claimed satoshis but I dont seem to get beyond "50.0000% achieved towards the next +0.00000014 BTC bonus!"

And after each claim it goes down again, so is it even possible to may the bonus without winning higher sums or putting external money in? How does it work, will it stay up or just go down again?
Basically you have to find a game you get lucky on often and play it and actually risk losing in order to qualify for this bonus.   Hopefully you come out on top

Can people bump the thread alot  with large text when tokens are available.    Sometimes I have missed out because I look away for a week and they closed entries again like I was never eligible.  Ideally the thread title should be changed and the OP.

I dont mind the delay exactly as good things take time and this is why we got the BTC straight away but just mentioning its ended messy on some ICO

Have not seen it mentioned here, but check out the new EnergyCoin website: www.energycoin.eu
Not completely filled yet, but looking 1000% better than the old one.
Good job team!  Smiley

New site looking good, then you have some new people in your team ? Can i join ENRG coin team ?

Good site, I like the layout not too crowded.    The subscribe email box didnt take my entry first attempts though.   Does anyone know the rough transaction speed limit to the operational network of ENRG.   Obviously we all know its very fast in usage now.   Just out of interest, I like to keep track of this kind of stat for the long term potential.  Also does transaction processing increase with more clients in POS, 'scalability' is always the criticism I hear of crypto in general mainstream discussion.

9811  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 4 Year warranty Antminer S9 - $42 from Amazon - will they honor it? on: January 11, 2018, 05:02:51 PM
Plus their are tons of clauses in insurance that they can use that when it breaks you get NOTHING. Not a replacement, not money, NOTHING. ESPECIALLY with stuff like a miner. Most likely they will send you a letter stating "We hate to see that your item broke, however we do not typically insure this type of item as [insert excuse here about overclocking, heat damage, etc]. Since this is not an item we would typically allow to be insured we have provided you a refund for the $42 you paid to insure this item." This is something item insurance will frequently do is just give a refund for the price paid for the insurance.

I know this is pretty much standard in UK probably all of EU law.   There is a reasonable argument for fair wear and tear whereby even after insurance coverage the item is not replaced as it is judged to have been used and expired in the natural course of fair wear.   Even if replaced in 4 years this item wont be of any worth, their liability at that time is to provide an item of no worth.    Of course they will opt for cash in this case to save even spending on postage and the cash value of something nearly worthless is a few cents I guess.

Alot of modern insurance sold to consumers is legal and fair but not worth the bother.   I know someone who paid 70 a year for washing machine cover, after a few years they spent almost as much as the washing machine costs anyway.    Just not competetive, if this cover was 20 or less maybe it would probably still be a profitable enterprise for the company.  Most of money spent goes to administration and fraud prevention.  They naturally go out of their way not to pay any more then required, they are obliged to do so as a profit making enterprise.

9812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [ICO] 💪 HERO | 🔥 2Million+ USD raised 🔥| ICO closed! on: January 11, 2018, 02:43:04 PM
Sounds like a normal market flush out to me.  The balance of supply and demand for those tokens tipped towards supply because of the bounty participants selling or not being able to hold because of low capital overall available to invest.  But elsewhere you have genuine demand for this kind of product, so long as the underlying business is seen as valid the excess supply gets bought up.   The price is secondary to that shift back and forth I think, like a set of scales is how I image the strength balance in most market prices.
9813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about Casino with 0% Edge? on: January 11, 2018, 05:12:42 AM
Yes it's true. I have no idea that theres a casino offer 0% edge  at this time. The question here is ,if the casino has  0% edge, how do they earn? Offering 0% house can actually be profitable? Or they may make it for promos or attract new player to visit their website. Anyway, whatever it is I hope it is not scam.

Its not a scam, its a reasonable way to gain market share which is not often an easy task to do in any industry.   If you observe something as mainstream as Amazon then they also run very close to zero profits seemingly at times, but also they have vastly achieved the task for gaining market share in not just USA but worldwide in quite a short period of time relatively.

Nobody could say this close to the bone strategy is a failure then, the risk is that company must keep growing in order to justify such an aggressive approach and be extremely efficient and well supported by capital when required.   As no profits are building up they rely on the revenue of past expansion to allow them to continue, all growth must be valid and well chosen business or it would be two steps backwards.

Long term I dont suppose 0% edge is that feasible as the company must ensure security and other measures to operate, its not a factor which can be ignored so there is inherent costs to operation.   Scales of economy do also justify gaining custom as fast as possible though.
9814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling Investments on: January 10, 2018, 06:19:54 PM
2.5% a month compounds to 34% a year   1.025^12=

Would the current investments by this scheme relate to something like the HeroCoin token or Herosphere.gg operation (or similar economies) or is that too far out from the original bitcoin related investments.   I dont think it gives a yield yet only speculative properties on its future operations.   I will have to go back and read each of the investments note to find out how this investment meta changed like I might read Warren Buffets annual note, crypto moves a bit faster I guess :p
9815  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: January 10, 2018, 04:26:30 PM
From ones Ive been offered a cash debit card would likely put all transactions into one monthly bill but thats apparently not one of those

Yep, adding SegWit receiving addresses to Mycelium would definitely help people save some on fees.

ain't gonna happen by the looks of things. i really wish it would. going forward this will be the number one reason people move on, albeit reluctantly.

Is it an overly involved process to add in such a feature because transaction fees is probably the number one decline in usage for wallets overall, Mycelium included.   Seems like there is no easy solution, success breeds its own problems.    Thats a true economy and a test of its longevity is finding a way :/
9816  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 4 Year warranty Antminer S9 - $42 from Amazon - will they honor it? on: January 10, 2018, 03:46:05 PM
I could state the obvious which is the insurance cost of these items often exceeds the worth of that item in four years.   The terms here are most important, I doubt they will give the cash cost of the item only that they will replace that item with one of equivalent power.   Insurance often does not serve to give any upgrade in its coverage only replacement of loss.

9817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 10, 2018, 03:04:30 AM
The ignorace on this forum is incredible, the marketcap is still at 730bill. So the bitcoin isnt going nowhere... it was at the same price when it was 600bill.

So stop panicking noobs.

This is in itself a warning signal.   When numbers are large people panic but the percentage movements are not any more of a problem.     Also its not the market movement which is the basis of any disturbance its the transaction fees which are likely leading to unstable pricing as people are required to move 5 figure sums every time to keep % costs lower.

If they would just see sense and allow in every type, size and shape of participant into bitcoin trading and exchange then we'd have a calming influence.   This isnt idealism, this is a requirement for a functioning economy to continue.

Efficency always will lead to destruction in economy, it either benefits participants with lower costs or it rips chunks off until a greater more stable exchange can be found.   Im sure its been this way for hundreds of years, force or stranglehold by certain parts of the network cannot overcome market forces, we'll all lose out.

Right now the price is finding a ceiling similar to January start, its a fairly valid trend going to even spring last year.   Its wavering back and forth, not especially bearish but it does seem quite likely 13,073 would be required as a backstop at some point.   Its a large gap but so was the leg up, how it reacts in speed and volume is really more important, 15,500 and 15,713 continues to be the speedbumps overhead.
9818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Turning my 50 USD into 25,000 USD? on: January 10, 2018, 02:57:50 AM
Okay, I know this sounds impossible but it'll look like this:

Put 50 bucks on a x5 coin on short term sell when the investment hits  250 USD

Long term HODL your 250 buck on a x100 coin (better if U find a newly dumped ICO)

 Take your 25,000 and enjoy!

Is this a possible strategy guys?

Big gains are possible but also improbable especially accounting for human nature.    When the figures get big you are more likely to trip yourself up, the idea of do nothing I agree is your most likely chance of success but thats also similar to buying a lottery ticket and hoping, its not generally productive.

I'll repeat what I've heard professional traders say which is to handle it one deal at a time.   So you are very ambitious in wanting 10x appreciation, thats your first target.     If you ever achieved this you should take back your original stake, the likelyhood of not losing out at some point is too great not to do this and ensures you never reset to zero.
9819  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin redistributes wealth or just makes the wealthy richer? on: January 10, 2018, 02:48:28 AM
Its pretty obvious right now Bitcoin has become a speculative vehicle with high entry fees to participate.    Its reinforcing wealth and the general FIAT system right now.    Previously with low transaction fees it allowed transfer of value between people who otherwise would be isolated and unable due to poor access to the banking and finance fields but now we are right back to square one.

Bitcoin is elitist Im sorry to say, I hope this is seen as a negative but not everyone respects capitalism and the simple origins of free trade.  I see sucess with a wider world able to access Bitcoin and I'd love to quote some important Dev on wanting similar but Im not sure we will go that way.    Crypto overall will find a way, I think there is still free enterprise out there but its a long and winding bumpy clifftop road till balance comes to economies worldwide including online global transfer trade.
9820  Economy / Services / Re: ♠ BETCOIN.AG ♠ Fixed Signature Campaign - Monthly Payments - No Free Spots ♠ on: January 10, 2018, 01:42:31 AM
The transaction fees are stupidly high everywhere I can confirm, unfortunately thats become normal and a reason why bitcoin has forks being bought in and used instead.   This isnt news, Im not sure why its a problem to use a different coin and exchange it back to btc if you need.   I guess the company should also offer to pay into a private wallet address as well now, since the user can self determine their fee and speed there, that makes sense.
