9881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is bitcoin forever. on: November 16, 2017, 03:11:10 PM
In my mind, nothing can replace bitcoin.
source link: http://bitkan.com/news/topic/43149

Of course bitcoin being the first cryptocurrency that caught the attention of a lot of people , its really gonna be hard for some altcoin to replace it. I understand that there are people who loves to a hostile takeover of bitcoin, as what we have seen lately, but they did not succeed because people really trusted so much on bitcoin ecosystem.

But we shouldn't rest on our laurels because I believed that they would attempt the same attempt in the future. As long as there are people who are willing to buy and trade bitcoin, it will remain as the #1 crytpocurrency in the world. And if ever bitcoin will be replaced, it will literally take years to do that.
9882  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-16] Bitcoin Bringing Hype to Real Estate Market on: November 16, 2017, 09:36:03 AM
I don't think that its hype because it is already real. Those real state company or broker has see something in bitcoin that they are taking advantage of. And I'm thinking that maybe those real state company has also vested interest in bitcoin. That's why they are promoting and accepting bitcoin as mode of payment. And mind you, real state cost little, they are really for high end clients. So the more real state company accepting bitcoin the better for our ecosystem. We might see a big jump next year, when one big clients of them bought there property with bitcoin. Let's see how this pans out.
9883  Economy / Economics / Re: Alt coin price manipulation is much easier than with BTC on: November 14, 2017, 02:36:00 PM
Something that became more evident this last week is that Alt coin price pumping/manipulation is MUCH easier than Bitcoin BTC. It only took Roger Ver and his shills a few days to super pump Bitcoin Cash with more than 100%. To have the same effect with BTC, you will have to get most of the BTC whales to act together and this is no easy task.

There are also more BTC exchanges to manipulate than Bitcoin Cash or Alt coin exchanges, so these Alt coin whales can concentrate their efforts for better results on only 1 or 2 exchanges where these coins are traded.

This is going to happen a lot more now, since this was such a huge success for these Pumpers, so be wary.  Roll Eyes

Good observation. We have heard a lot of of this so called Pump and Dump around and its very evident in the last couple of days as Bitcoin Cash was really pumped so hard that the price doubled in what? less than a week? It was clearly Pump & Dump and we literally saw it into action. I also felt for newbies who have bought Bitcoin Cash when the price is $2000 because they are literally manipulated by people behind pumping the coins. As compare to bitcoin that has a lot of whales and its really hard to do a coordinated attack just like what Bitcoin Cash manipulators did in the last couple of days.
9884  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: when do you buy ? on: November 14, 2017, 11:45:55 AM
It depends on the situation of market. When the market day by day dropped prices .
Then I should be buying .

Like for the past weekend. Its been a very wild ride for both btc and bitcoin cash. It was a very good chance to buy bitcoin when bch was pumping hard. Btc even went down below 6k so people who were able to buy are lined up for good profit

As I go and read some news around, it looks like a wild weekend for the market. Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash was really fighting if I may say so. Nevertheless there are a lot of people who I assumed have made a lot of money from Bitcoin Cash because it touches $2000 or more so for long term holders its a perfect time to off load some of their stash, but for those who bought at less than $1000 is also going home with a lot of profits. Also Bitcoin went down sub $6000 before I went into hibernation, so there's a lot of money going in and out of the market. Also alts seems to have been recovered as well so the past few days that I missed seems to be a bad timing for me to go vacation. I should have made money too, but oh well.
9885  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-14] Recovery In Doubt? Bitcoin Price May Not Sustain Above $6,500 on: November 14, 2017, 11:35:58 AM
Agreed on that, maybe if BTC will touch 6.9k again then the uptrend will continue. Let's not also forget the alts which is now recovering from the downtrend rally because of BTC's uptrend rally which can also solidify the article that BTC may not be able to breach new high for the mean time.

BTC may be stabilized yet still volatile. It may dance around 6.5 k and 6.6k. the recovery of AltCoins is pretty impressive. People will now return their invested money to some alts.

One example of the alts that I am happy for recovering is none other than WAVES. Hoping that it will touch new high.

It still dances around $6500-$600 currently. But the recovery of bitcoin is very quick. I was out for a few days but the last time I did checked is the price is down to $5600 or something so when I came back today I'm happy to see that it has rebounded very beautifully. But make no mistake about it, I think its has not fully recovered because investors are still divided about the which coins to go to Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash? However, I consider that investors at one point needs to decide and I speculate that they will go to Bitcoin once more, Bitcoin Cash is simply for a pump and dump and the people behind is somewhat not trusted by this community.
9886  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Investing bitcoins in start-ups on: November 11, 2017, 05:45:08 PM
Would you invest your bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency you have in start-ups which are offering their own coin?
That question  bothers me a lot when it comes to instability of cryptocurrency.

Everybody loves to invest because you want to get a profit. The question is there are hundreds of startups of what we call ICO now and its really hard to separate what's legit and what is scam ICO. IF you are not aware, there are have a lot of scam ICO, running away with investors money. But if you do your homework, like checking the team behind the project, researching about the ICO, roadmaps, whitepapers etc. If you think that the ICO is worth to put up your money then by all means invest on it.
9887  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-09] Cryptocurrency Exchanges in China Are Officially Dead on: November 11, 2017, 04:45:57 PM
So what will happen to the bitcoins that their citizens hold? Can they go abroad then trade it there and just bring the fiat back to China without violating this law? They also havea huge percentage on the bitcoin mining industry how do you expect those miners to earn?

It was reported that bitcoin trading still exist underground or OTC. Chinese will always find a way to continue with their bitcoin activity. However, it has risk so until we heard that someone is caught and what appropriate actions will be taken by the authorities, I believed that bitcoin will be alive in China. Another thing that crosses my mind is that maybe they can do cross borders like going to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan to resume their bitcoin trading.
9888  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is a roller coaster on: November 11, 2017, 04:31:01 PM
It's certainly a fun roller coaster!

I used to get nauseous, but eventually you get a stomach for it.

LOL. But its very annoying, on the contrary its a very satisfying ride. We all know how roller coaster moves, it has its up and will slide down very hard, I hope we all brace ourselves when it is going down, because others can't stomach it and choose to bail out early. Right now its a big challenge ahead, price dropping, investing moving to BCH to make profit. However, after all what have been said and done. They will still go back to bitcoin market and ride once more. So for now, don't jump off the roller coaster because very soon we are going up once more. Just continue to brace and just expect the unexpected and just hold on your bitcoins.
9889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 120: Poirier vs Pettis Info and Prediction Thread on: November 11, 2017, 01:48:22 PM
Interesting fights to see:

Matt Brown vs Diego Sanchez. I think both fighters are very entertaining specially Diego Sanchez. Both have a gung-ho style of fight and last man standing will be the winner. Diego though bleeds easily however Matt Brown has weaknesses in his body and can easily get hurt once a perfect body shot lands. But I think Matt Brown being the natural 170 lb'er will win this fight.

Yeah, I'm seeing Pettis improving his condition and might fight for the title soon. But he has a hurdle to overcome as I believed that Dustin Poirier is a live dog, but I don't think that Anthony will let this one slip away. This is a easy fight for him, and no doubt that he can win this fight via KO.
9890  Economy / Economics / Re: Wonder how many people can hold BTC for more than 3 years on: November 11, 2017, 01:26:29 PM
Yes, that's true. many people hold BTC for more than 3years but nobody can surely told how many people hold BTC.
who hold 300$ or more then now that people became a millionaire. Smiley

I don't know about bitcoin, but I would tell you that I have a stocks that I have been holding for more than 15 years now. Right, I was part of the dotcom bubble and I have stocks that I have bought during that period (1999-2001). So I think for bitcoin its possible to hold it for longer times. However, the online difference is that bitcoin is gaining very big every year or even months that's why its very hard to really hold in for longer terms unless you really bought like 1 bitcoin and store it in your hardware wallet and just keep it away.
9891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 217: Bisping vs GSP Info and Betting Thread on: November 11, 2017, 12:20:37 PM
Is it just me, or does anybody else think that GSP's come back was 'meh'?  It looks like another publicity stunt just to draw a large crowd.  I would rather watch Whitaker vs Bisping.

And who else thinks GSP will vacate the MW belt?  Don't think he'll defend it.

I just finished watching the replay of the fight. And its looks like just a "OK" performance from GSP. He was heavily breathing from round 2 onwards and he is huge. LOL. I think he needs a few more fights though, but since he is a champion I'm expecting him to face the challenge. It looks like he will vacant, based on the interview though. Also, he is too small for a middle weight and this is not his natural weight. This is just for the fanfare and to become a 2 divisional champion. Nothing else.
9892  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: November 11, 2017, 11:46:42 AM
Many people are now curious to know what bitcoin is, whereas once bitcoin was just underestimated, now upside down many people stop working instead they prefer to focus on bitcoin

Is this the impact of rising bitcoin prices?

Yes it is, people ignored bitcoin when it's price was not that high. People got interested in bitcoin when people heard that bitcoin is very profitable and it's price grew in thousands of dollars. It's a good thing because more and more people are investing bitcoin which makes it's price even higher.

I think its not underestimated but people didn't really re-discover bitcoin up until this year. 2017 is really a "breakout" year for bitcoin because the price has risen to 700% and we haven't seen anything like this in history. And this year a lot bitcoin has exponentially grow not only in prices but in its user based. You can see the trading platform customers has ballooned to significant proportions as well. So in relation to that, bitcoin price also rises. This is just the tip of the iceberg and I'm expecting that 2018 will also be a great year for bitcoin. Some says that that the price could go to the moon.
9893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Meant To Bubble! on: November 11, 2017, 11:16:25 AM
Exactly, it's important to address the fact that bitcoin's supply is completely controlled by the actual code that is governing the entire thing and can't just be planted or whatever like tulips. That is the main difference between the tulip bubble and bitcoin.

Also, bitcoin actually has a usage. It'll never crash to even close to zero, even back in 2013.

The main thing to take away is, the scarcity of bitcoin makes it intrinsically valuable. And when demand grows, where else would you expect the price to go?

Correct, how can it be a bubble when you can define its usage. Be it a commodity or store of value of even currency. It has its usage. And once this so called bubble pops, it has still the ability to go put another bubble and then we can call it a bubble again. LOL. Its gonna be a vicious cycle. And then their is the scarcity factor as well, its getting difficult to mine bitcoin as time passes by, making the price go up because of scarcity unlike the tulip mania wherein everyone can plant and sell so they saturate the market easily but not in the case of bitcoin.
9894  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who know the bitcoin price down so fast 0n 9 10 november on: November 11, 2017, 11:06:14 AM
I dont know why the bitcoin price down so fast who know some big event please give me the reasons.

First, the reason why the price of bitcoin has grown exponentially in the last couple of weeks because of the looming Segwit2x that is scheduled around Nov. 16. Investors are then buying bitcoins like crazy because they anticipated that with this fork they will get free coins as well. However, yesterday, Segwit2x proponents decided to postponed this activation. Obviously, some are disappointed to this news because they will not get their free coins that's why they quickly cash out and sold of their bitcoin and move their funds to altcoins market. That's why the price of bitcoin has continue to drop because of this reasons.
9895  Economy / Speculation / Re: when to buy bitcoin in today on: November 11, 2017, 11:00:29 AM
so i have plan to buy 2-3 BTC
we all see the price playing around 6400 to 6800 and i think thats because of BCH ( Bitcoin Cash ) fork in 12 November

personally i think BTC decrease until the fork time because everyone change to bch to earn free coins

as analyzer, bitcoin lover, whats your suggestion

whats the lowest price i can buy before the BCH fork ?

buy now on 6500~6600 or wait for more decrease ?

The fork has nothing to do with Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin price drop because of the postponement of Segwit2x activation. Many investors and traders who put their money on Bitcoin ecosystem because they have to get free coins during Segwit2x. But since it was decided to postponed it, those same investors and traders, sold off and cash out their bitcoin that's why the price drop. And as far as Bitcoin Cash, we don't know if some of them bought this coins but I'm sure that someone from behind is trying to manipulate the price of it that's why it is suddenly rising. As for your questions, I always told that if you have the funds to buy it today then don't wait get it while the price is low and then wait till it gets lower because it might not happened.
9896  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin is legal in India on: November 11, 2017, 10:51:24 AM
we are at 2017 not 2011 Bitcoin now have power to break any ban , you can go to other country that support bitcoin or use twitter & facebook to find users Buy/sell bitcoin , exchange it to paypal , payeer ,use prepaid cards and buy/ sell from any market you can do more with bitcoin

Right, and even if bitcoin is ban, there are a lot of ways to continue to do your trading or exchanging of your bitcoin. Just like the above posters said. Even China can't stop the flow of bitcoin OTC. But as far as India banning it, I'm at lost because there is no official word coming from the government and all we can see is pure speculation. But I believed that there are a lot of anti bitcoin proponents and lawmakers in India, the question is why. I think before making any decision to ban it, they should put further study the advantage and positive things that bitcoin could bring in their nation. Even right now a lot of Indian are treating bitcoin signature campaigns are jobs now and its even paying them better if they work in their country.
9897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Am I late ? on: November 11, 2017, 10:33:29 AM
I decide to buy 2 bitcoins with in this week.. Its valuable ? Am I late ? Waiting for your replies ?

Actually this is the best time to get into the market and buy bitcoin because the price is dropping. So its a great entry point and don't wait till the price floors as you might miss the perfect opportunity. Bitcoin is now below $6700 and we don't know when is the next pump. At least if you can buy today, we wouldn't miss another bull run. Or if the price continues to drop then you can still get more bitcoin and stash in somewhere.
9898  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-05] New York Preschool Accepts Bitcoin, But Not Credit Cards on: November 11, 2017, 09:56:09 AM
This is a welcoming news for those parents who are into bitcoin. I read somewhere that in New Jersey, there is a restaurant that only accepts bitcoin and cash but not credit card as well. And now its a school. Victory for bitcoin indeed. And I'm pretty sure that those parents that are not into bitcoin will became curious as to what it is and maybe they would get into bitcoin and will used it in the future to pay with their kids tuition. We all know bitcoin's price is so volatile, so maybe the schools can get extra funds in bitcoin price soars. But as a parent, I wouldn't mind paying in bitcoins though.
9899  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitVault cellphone on: November 11, 2017, 09:35:01 AM
Did a very short read about it. Interesting concept, whereas transfer of messages, files, etc go through "securely" on a private blockchain. Very interesting concept indeed, but we currently have no idea how "secure" that private blockchain is. Also, take in to consideration the usability of the phone itself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it runs it's own operating system, and not Android. So even though everything or most stuff on your phone might be secure, expect a good number of apps to be uninstallable on this device.

P.S. That price though. €999.00 / $1,165.00
For more info about the phone itself: https://swissbankinyourpocket.com/product/bitvault/

Quite expensive too. If it runs on its Operating System, then it would be just like iOS wherein they have a total manipulation. Never heard of any review yet, it is really that secure, has it been stress tested. Plus this is not for the masses, perhaps that target is more on a class, specially those businessman. And maybe most apps that will be deployed is for pure cryptocurrency used, like wallets. Let's see how it goes, but for me the price is very expensive. Well maybe that's the price you have to pay if you really wanted to be more secured.
9900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x continuing the fork ! on: November 11, 2017, 08:48:50 AM
Perhaps this is the whale's way of doing things, tossing more information into the market to disturb the market and take money

Exactly. I'm surprised people are bothering to speculate about this website at all. I could throw a meaningless site like that up in 30 minutes. It's clearly just a ploy to sow more confusion and anger with regard to the current network congestion (spam attacks) that conveniently coincide with the cancelled fork. Enter: Bitcoin Cash.

I suspect this may have been the plan all along: use Bitcoin's difficulty algorithm against us and starve us of hash rate, which coerces users into adopting Bitcoin Cash. It's pretty brilliant. Cobra (Core dev) is even talking about changing the POW algo soon. The FUD never ends!

Just like I have said in another thread, this is a well planned attack at the very beginning. Look at Bitcoin Cash sudden price increased, Roger Ver and his cohorts are pumping it real hard so that the community will think that is the real "Bitcoin".

There is a crack in bitcoin community which is massively affecting the price of bitcoin, the stakeholders ought to have taken decisions from onset to cancel or allow SegWit2x to take place.
I am urging the stakeholders to come together a take decisive decision once for all for the progress of bitcoin.

They have put a lot of doubts in the bitcoin community, continuing to spread FUD. But we should used our common sense here. It's already postponed, no software upgrade, and its gonna be messy. Let's see how long this Bitcoin Cash price rise can be sustained.
