That is really present in most of the altcoins especially those coins freshed from ICO. Taking advantage of their pumps and dumps must be on regular basis since even for a seconds, a big price movement can happen. That's how hard and heavy the price volatility in terms of altcoins.

But there are certain alts that is good for long term holding at least based on my own preferences. One good example is NEM/XEM.
