9941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: How profitable it is to setup your own mining pool? on: December 05, 2016, 04:45:00 PM
If you are hosting it at your home on a PI, it should only cost you time and a little bit of electricity.  Smiley

Thanks for your reply. I'm very tempted to run my very own mining pool with a Raspberry Pi, as I want to generate some profit out of it by the pool fees. If I manage to make it a competitive mining pool, then I'm pretty sure that I can make the most out of it. I just wanted to know if it was just worth doing it, depending on the profits generated. The good thing I have, it is free electricity since I live with my parents. So, this would maximize my chances for profiting with it.

Anyways, if you happen to know what results (in terms of profit) would be expected with making your own mining pool, please let me know.  Smiley
9942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite Zero Knowledge Proof coin? on: December 05, 2016, 04:23:35 PM
Hi Abiky,

What do you think about komodo? Have you taken a look into it? Could you possibly share your thoughts on it? Thanks.  Cheesy I've recently been browsing here in altcoins section but haven't found much feedback about it.

And yes, Ebitz has been confirmed as a scam.

Yes I have looked into Komodo and it has been one of those forks from ZCash that has really attracted my attention. It has so many features, including but not limited to dPoW which is very ideal, in my own opinion, to make the coin even more secure than many altcoins out there by using Bitcoin's PoW. Unfortunately, I didn't invest into it because I was broke so I missed the chance to get ICO coins early. However, as soon as it hits the exchanges, I will definitely buy some.

As for eBitz, it seemed like it was going to be a great ZCash fork, but unfortunately it just turned into another scamcoin. Luckily, you guys saved me from making a bad investment.  Wink

Nevertheless, if you or anybody else knows, of other new and exciting ZCash forks, don't hesitate to let me know.  Smiley

Thanks for another successful payment from signature campaign. It was great!  Smiley
9944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite Zero Knowledge Proof coin? on: December 02, 2016, 05:59:30 PM

There are at least 3 post about Ebitz scam proof and all threads are verified,Ebitz is indeed a scam project but was to late to expose ,they have already amassed over 200 bitcoin ,the official Ebitz thread is now locked and the people behind it are nowhere to be found now,we really need a team of experts that will expose this scam ICO.

Thanks for the information. I had my suspicions at first, when I saw the site designed in Wordpress. Due to this fact, I limited myself from investing into this project until clarified about it. That is why, in every ICO, I take the liberty to check out about current development team, employees, among other factors before making a bad move, resulting in massive losses by then. I was scammed by many ICOs, like ZION cryptocurrency, among many others. Luckily, I've learnt a valuable lesson, and now I proceed with extreme caution.

Nevertheless, I hope that scams like these get exposed, thus preventing them from succeeding into stealing other people's money.  Angry

Like others have mentioned before, Zclassic would have my vote  Cheesy, i think its release was more ethical than ZEC itself

Thanks for sharing your opinion. The way I see it, ZClassic may become a huge competitor against ZCash if it proves to deliver constant development, and most of all, usability. Since ZEC doesn't have an official GUI wallet release, ZClassic may take the lead by releasing a GUI wallet thus making things much easier for people who are not tech-savvy. Having user friendliness in a cryptocurrency, it is key towards making it become popular and used be the masses in the long term.  Smiley
9945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: December 02, 2016, 05:36:33 PM
Zcash price has been increased too much after it got listed in poloniex and maybe it is overvalued but we had similar thoughts about ethereum too when it got listed in the exchanges, zcash gradually is dropping these days so I am afraid it will crash soon.

Yeah I think so too. In a few more years, ZCash would be worthless and become like the rest of the altcoins with a very low marketcap. Unless, ZCash brings something new and exciting, that would really increase its usability and acceptance of merchants around the world, then the dream of it becoming a very popular cryptocurrency would be very distant, thus resulting into other forks taking the lead like ZClassic.

Also, if ZCash didn't have the founders reward, then I'm pretty sure that the price would always had a positive uptrend on the markets, instead of constantly declining each day.

If you take a good look at ZCash, it is just another BTC clone with the only difference of having the ability to make anonymous transactions with a Z_address which separates itself from the t_address (which stands for transparent address). In my own opinion, this should've been implemented into Bitcoin the first place, instead of making another altcoin.  Smiley
9946  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is Solar mining really profitable? on: December 02, 2016, 05:03:48 PM

If you do ask me, having solar panels will surely make your mining operations profitable. If the electricity charges or cost in your place or country is high then its ideal to have panels as long you do have the money to put on but please do consider the weather conditions on your place that might affect your solar panels because if you put it on weather which do include hails then panels will be easily bust out.

Thanks for the information. I have heard that even if you buy the Solar panels, you would still need to pay some kind of a fee in order to use it in the USA. That is why I was wondering if mining with this system, would really generate you some profit regardless of the fee, among other factors. But still, it would be pretty ideal to go towards that route since you would save a lot more money with it, thus increasing your opportunity to profit in the long term.

If I were to start with this operation, I would take the most smallest and cheapest solar panel, to see for myself how much money I would earn mining Bitcoin with it. It would only be a matter of patience, until I get the necessary equipment to get started.  Smiley
9947  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Share Your Daily Result Bitcoin on: December 02, 2016, 01:20:22 AM

Yes 235Th/s . It's moderately sized. Right now about 18 S9's and planning to grow over time

That is awesome. Since S9 are the most energy efficient BTC miners around, it definitely increases your chance to profit with it. Anyways, I'm glad to see that you are making a plenty amount of BTC per day.

As for me, I make around 0.001 BTC per day by cloud mining Dash at Genesis Mining. It is not much, but at least I'm earning something on the side. Also, I mine coins with my GPUs, but I use cloud mining more since there is no setup or maintenance of equipment required at all.

Nevertheless, I'm always looking forward to increase my chances of making profit with mining BTC or any other crypto currency.  Smiley
9948  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Is Solar mining really profitable? on: December 02, 2016, 01:01:33 AM
I'm curious to know if it is really profitable to mine BTC with solar panels at your home, and if it is worth doing it.

I know that there are many panels which are very expensive, but if energy costs reduce greatly to a point where you can make more money with your miner, then I'd be willing to do this.

One miner that I've been looking forward to use with this system, is the Antminer S9. Nevertheless, if you have any tips or advice, please let me know.  Smiley
9949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KURT] KURRENT - First Zerocoin that uses X11 algorithm on: December 02, 2016, 12:41:20 AM

Yes this is a good coin. I also like the X11 so GPU can be mined. The Lyrav2 algo uses CPU, I am not against it, but I always heard rumor saying there are secret GPU miner, which is scary and I no longer mine Zcash or Zclassic.

Yeah. It will be pretty interesting to see how profitable it would be to mine Kurrent with one of those Radeon R9 GPUs. I don't think there is a mining calculator around for Kurrent yet, but just to try this, I think that I'll see the results for myself with a spare GPU I have lying around.

One thing that I'm looking forward to, is to mine Kurrent with a Baikal mini miner. Since it supports X11 algo, it should be no problem getting started with it. The only thing is the price, but if it's worth to mine with it then I'll probably get one for Xmas.

By the way, the name of "Kurrent" just reminded me of the Kurt guy from Mondo Burger that appears in the Good Burger movie. As he always says, "if you mess with Kurt, you go in the Grinder."

Looking forward for more exciting stuff from this awesome Zcoin fork.  Grin

Ebitz is a scam coin. I think it must be remove on the choices or else someone really likes scam coin. Grin

Actually. I'm not a fan of zero knowledge coin, but i believe on zcash when they first announce their project because it looks promising. But now i don't believe on any. Hahahah

Thanks for sharing your opinion, mate. Would you care to share why is eBitz a scam? Just want to be sure about it, since I was considering investing into it these days. The only thing that seemed suspicious to me, was that the ICO site was all made up on Wordpress. Even when you had to login in order to participate in the ICO, everything within it was just made up with Wordpress plugins.

Nevertheless, these Zero Knowledge Proof coins need to be tested against other anonymous technologies, in order to determine which one is best for complete privacy and anonymity in transactions. Until this is proven, I'll stick up more with the tried and tested CryptoNote technology from Monero.  Grin

Zdash.
The true decentralized altcoin. A dev team that is listening when the community is speaking and is speaking when the community is listening. There's no dictatorship, anyone who wants to contribute may contribute and by contributing earning bounties, trust and love  Wink
Long-term solutions that takes 2 weeks longer but works, are valued higher than quick fixes that must be replaced or re-done within a week.

We are working on getting listed on Bittrex right now which will make the coin more known to the public, our website is coming up this week and it's going to be brilliant. Completely brilliant!

Thanks for sharing this new ZCash fork! It looks very promising and might become a successful cryptocurrency in the long term. I'll have a look at it and consider whenever to invest in it this weekend. As it is aiming to go towards a popular exchange like Bittrex, it could bring good trading to it and thus make the price go all the way to the moon.

By the way, if you can give me a few pointers about it via PM to get started, don't hesitate to do so.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward for more reviews about other Zcash clones, to put them into my list of investment consideration.  Smiley
9952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the Fuck is Wrong with all Coinz ? ? ? ? ? on: December 01, 2016, 09:52:05 PM
Most of the shit coins you see are just copy/paste coins that some kids are pumping and hoping to earn a few bucks on unfortunate guys that invest in their scam coins. YoBit is exchange that adds a lot of that shit stuff so just don't look there if you don't really know how to differentiate them from potentially good ones or if you are new to altcoins overall.

Agree. The great majority of alt coins are just BTC clones, and some of them are even cloned from ETH, with a few only providing promising technology and good development team. If you take a good look at what's happening in crypto land right now, there have been a great number of ICOs emerging almost every day. But, it is up to debate whenever these projects may truly deliver as promised in their ICOs. That is why, if considering to invest into a new altcoin, you should first make a research about its community, development team behind it, number of premined coins, among other factors before regretting losing all your money at once.

In my case, those new altcoins that look promising, I try to invest the minimum amount possible, as if the coin then gets dumped, I wouldn't have loss to much money. Just my opinion.  Grin
9953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite Zero Knowledge Proof coin? on: December 01, 2016, 09:21:07 PM
Please add Zclassic in your poll. That is the best so far...

Thanks for your reply. I missed out that one, but it is nice to see another fork from ZCash around. If I were to make a debate on which Zero Knowledge Proof coin is better, I guess that it is up to whenever it gets acceptance from merchants and have real world usability in the long term. I'm hoping that if the technology becomes successful, then it could be put into good use such as trading into decentralized exchanges with it, use on decentralized marketplaces, and much more.

Nevertheless, if anyone else has any opinions or recommendations about a Zero Knowledge proof coin that could have a bright future, please let me know. In my own opinion, I see that Zcoin may take the lead in the long term. But, it will depend whenever it gets popularity over the upcoming days.  Smiley
9954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / How profitable it is to setup your own mining pool? on: December 01, 2016, 06:36:31 PM
I'm interested in setting up my own mining pool for an specific altcoin. But before I start with this task, I want to know how profitable it is to run a mining pool at home. I'm looking into using one of my Raspberry Pis to get started with it, but I'm not sure if it would be enough to handle the mining pool.

Also, if you happen to know of a good mining pool calculator that will help me calculate my profits, then feel free to share it with me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Grin
9955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What is your favorite Zero Knowledge Proof coin? on: December 01, 2016, 06:16:09 PM
Since ZCash inception, a number of forks have emerged from it, leaving us a variety of coins that use the same technology as its predecessor, and some of them are aiming to become better than the former cryptocurrency.

Also, the original Zerocoin protocol became a reality with Zcoin lately, but it is up to debate whenever all these Zero Knowledge Proof cryptocurrencies can deliver the attention of companies, businesses, and even developers in order to apply real usability towards them, and help the technology become mainstream.

Nevertheless, I want to know which Zero Knowledge Proof coin would be your favorite, and why would you invest in it?  Smiley
9956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: December 01, 2016, 05:45:10 PM
Hey Abiky, thanks for the continued support and positivity Smiley

I actually set up prypto for MUE some time ago.

If you see here http://cryptoscratchcards.com/ MUE is one of the redeemable cards.

As so often happens in crypto, various steps and tasks failed to be completed or obstacles occurred due to 3rd parties that meant things didn't pan out as hoped.
e.g 2 million MUE worth of prypto cards have been "lost" in the US customs for well over 6 months, guess we'll never see those again.

That said....if you wanted to sell MUE prypto cards/codes please feel to check it out http://prypto.com/Resellers/?pg=qLS1s6rPyeLp5g==

Great. Thanks for the information. I just asked in the first place, because I thought that no MUE card existed yet since I was only aware that there were BTC, DOGE, and CSC ones (as the Prypto page only shows their logos). It is sad to see the losses involved into those MUE cards, but if still available around, I'm willing to buy a few of them. I'm curious to know if sometime in the future, we will get to see new cards when MUE transitions towards the new algorithm, as I would greatly buy these in order to help support MUE to my friends and family. Other than that, I will be awaiting the new algorithm release of MUE, in order to get up and running with the little project I'm working on, in order to help benefit this exciting crypto currency.  Grin
9957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: December 01, 2016, 05:29:14 PM
Zcash has had some fork, At the first zclassic was becoming his forks. And some other were appearing after it. Zdash and KURRENT both was including Zcash fork also.
Please forget about the big hype of zcash it had passed on the previous time. It a risk on trading.
It was simple if we don't want for losing our money, reject for following it.

I've never thought that ZCash would've had many forks. But in the bright side, it is good since there will always be the option to get even better features than ZCash at a lower price. So far, I have 2 forks on my list to invest into which are KURRENT and KOMODO. The features they bring are very promising, plus they can prove to become successful into the long term since there is absolutely no founder's reward involved.

I have a feeling that ZCash's price will continue to fall over the years, making it an inexpensive crypto currency with very low popularity. Unless, merchants and companies being putting ZCash up to good use, then I see a very distant future for it. That being said, it would be interesting to see some real apps developed for this one, if it gets traction someday.  Cheesy
9958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KURT] KURRENT - First Zerocoin that uses X11 algorithm on: November 30, 2016, 08:16:18 PM
I am surprised to see the very first Zerocoin fork that implements the X11 algorithm. This is usually preferred, rather than CPU mining as there exists some X11 ASICs to mine it, as well as it is much more efficient to mine it with GPUs. Nevertheless, it is good to have a Zero Knowledge Proof crypto currency that does not implement the 20% founders reward tax when mining it.

I'm looking forward to invest deeply into this project as well as support it for the long term.  Smiley
9959  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: November 30, 2016, 07:42:43 PM

US is a strong country with a strong economy, I guess almost all country accepts dollar and I can say it's dominant. Though in this world, fiat inflate it's value but not so fast with dollars. People has the choice whether to invest their money in bitcoin as we believe it will be big in the future but not to the point that it's going to replace it.

Exactly. It will be extremely difficult for BTC to replace fiat currencies like the USD, but at least it makes it an alternative way to transact with other people in a freely and decentralized way. Maybe sometime in the future, we will get to see a new version of USD backed by the government, but this time using block chain technology which would make transactions near instant and at the same time secure.

Since it is possible to trace transactions much easier with block chain technology, than cash itself, then I think that this will be the path that the government will go towards the future. It this happens, then there would be practically no privacy at all since the government would be watching every single transaction you make, at any given point in time. Just sharing my thoughts.  Grin
9960  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 30, 2016, 07:28:33 PM

Yes but now there are many investment opportunities coming up for bitcoin too and these are different from traditional trading methods. Holding bitcoin and waiting for the increase in price is just keeping bitcoins in dead position (although if it’s one of the safe option) but keeping bitcoins in flow makes the contribution for the growth of the network as well as it also gives some benefits in the form of returns on investment.

Agree. By only holding Bitcoins onto your wallet, you won't be making much difference expect to wait for the price to increase in USD. This method, prevents your Bitcoin from ever growing into the long term as they are kept statically into your wallet. That is why, it is best to spend at least a little of your BTC savings into commodities or certain services that will protect your investment in the long term, and in return make your Bitcoin grow (such as Magnr savings account, investing into Gold right from within DigixDAO, and more)

Nevertheless, in my own opinion, I think that the ideal way to go would be to save your Bitcoin, as well as invest them into valuable assets, in order to have a good financial life over the long term.  Smiley
