1  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Withdraw from Mt.Gox? on: April 29, 2013, 09:28:39 PM
I don't think MTGox does direct payments to paypal.

Funny thing is, I don't have any of the accounts listed on their withdrawal page. I submitted a request asking why PayPal isn't an option.

Hopefully they'll add it as a feature, because I really don't feel like opening a bank account.

-EDIT-

Found in their forums.

Q: Can I use Paypal on Mt.Gox?

A: Unfortunately we do not accept paypal transfers, as paypal does occasionally perform a chargeback.

So basically they're telling me I'm screwed?

Well, you want to withdraw it so this doesn't apply to you. I think you can do gox to bitinstant to paypal.

Thank you! That was a big help!

4  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [8500 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: April 25, 2013, 03:21:31 AM
I'm finalizing the pool reconstruction, most likely it will be up in a hour.

Does that include the website?

I lost some amount of bitcoins, but I'll be able to recover it from my pocket.

I want to say thank you Slush, you really put a lot of effort in to this and we all appreciate it so much. If there is anything we can do please let us know Smiley

Website isn't working for me, or stratum.

7  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Win a new 32GB Google Nexus 7 Tablet from Bitspend this weekend! on: April 22, 2013, 10:55:56 PM
The Nexus 7 is pretty sweet, I bought one back in September of '12 I think.

Why not have a giveaway for the new 10" HD tablet?  Cheesy
8  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Trojan Wallet stealer be careful on: April 22, 2013, 10:49:38 PM
There is a (new?) trojan wallet stealer out in the wild ATM.

Plenty of script kiddies and scammers are going to be trying to get you to download and install it, what's more they'll be putting posts to do so (using lies obviously).

Don't install anything linked to on this forum, unless it's been found by someone with a good reputation to be legit. Assume everything is an attempt to steal your wallet.

You should also encrypt your wallet when not in use.

Here is a portable apps version http://www.freeotfe.org/downloads/FreeOTFEExplorer_3_51.paf.exe

You have been warned.

Nefario
Thanks for the warning and the link to this *cough* software.

Why whats wrong with this?

It's OpenSource, fairly well know, a well know domain, from a fairly well known user (me), whats the problem?

No problem, just the fact that a big "SCAMMER" title is below your username...
9  Economy / Service Discussion / Where can I purchase Google Play credit with bitcoin? on: April 22, 2013, 10:48:15 PM
Haven't had an ounce of luck. Anyone know a website that offers this?

-Edit-
Also Amazon Gift cards. I looked at about 5 -10 websites that said they sold them, but most said they were permanently removed, or undergoing construction.

You state clearly that you must pay at least one artist in this contest for their work, and that all artwork created will remain under the copyright of the artist or at their discretion.

A. This should be in services
B. Why not simply contract a designer?  There's plenty on this site.
C.  I presume this is a contest.  You should post the rules for this contest, for example, whether or not you're required to choose a winner, and clearly define in the OP that you're not looking for a designer, but looking for free work to choose from.
D. Are you aware of spec work?

Ah, I did forget about the services tab. But perhaps it wouldn't quite fit there...and yes, this is basically a contest.
Details
-Must be in three sizes (pixels): 25-50, 75-100, 300-400.
-Must have the company name in the image.
-Must be in .png format.
-Should be dark, use a black and white color scheme.

Please submit your photos before April 26. The winner will receive ฿0.10.
Sorry, I said details instead of rules; but you get the idea. I did look at some designers, and I was considering doing business with one; but I'm sure there are a lot of creative people here that might have a better idea or perspective.

Cheers!

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Where do I find a website hosting service that accepts bitcoin? on: April 21, 2013, 07:25:11 PM
As an indie game developer, I want a .com website that I put certain games on, and have a small section for a store. I don't like paypal however, because they've cheated me in the past. What service will let me buy/host a domain that accepts bitcoin? Thanks guys.

17  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [8500 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: April 18, 2013, 12:33:00 AM
I just migrated pool to another datacentre (longer story later...). There are three loadbalancers behind every of following DNS:

stratum.bitcoin.cz
stratum2.bitcoin.cz
stratum3.bitcoin.cz

So nine machines filtering the traffic right now. Balancers behind stratum.bitcoin.cz seems to be dead from the attack, but time to time I see some accepted connection. Once the connection is established, it will be kept by the balancer (that's nice advantage of Stratum protocol).

Please try these URLs in your miners, some of them will, at least after few tries, work for you.

stratum3.bitcoin.cz is working like a charm for me! Cheesy

Same here....working on ....>>>stratum3.bitcoin.cz

Thank you for your continued hard work.

It appears that stratum3.bitcoin.cz stopped working after I restarted my computer...and none of the other are working for me either.

Slush, you are a very busy man, and I respect that. But any chance the server will be back up by tomorrow?
18  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Attention AMD Radeon 7950 users... on: April 17, 2013, 11:51:20 PM
Here is what I've done to achieve max hashrate for this GPU. I set the core voltage to 1250, and the core clock to the max of 1200Mhz. Works without crashing. Of course you'll wanna adjust the fan speed too; I personally don't mind the noise, so I have it set to 100% speed when it hits 60C.

This setting gets me 612 MH/s, with the flag "-w 64." And the temperature is the same for me, 76 - 78C while mining for a while.

So if you wanna get another 100 MH/s, this is what ya do. Cheers!

*NOOB WARNING: Do not attempt to overclock your graphics card if you don't know what your doing! It voids any warranty you have on it, and can break the card if you do it wrong.*

Guys, just chill. It isn't easy to fix/stop something like this, and I'm sure Slush is working as hard as he can on it while dealing with his own life.
