1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The official MacMiner thread on: May 11, 2013, 03:33:28 PM
This is all I could see at the top that is legible.

8©/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib `/Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/curl/lib/libcurl.4.dylib @      /usr/local/lib/libjansson.4.dylib @/usr/local/lib/libusb-1.0.0.dylib x/Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/bfgminer/lib/libblkmaker_jansson-0.1.0.dylib p/Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/bfgminer/lib/libblkmaker-0.1.0.dylibÄ libblkmaker/.libs

They all seem to be in place. That last little part though "libblkmaker/.libs" it shows up on it's own line and I don't know what that is or if it's just part of the line above it.

Anyway, I guess it would be like shooting in the dark to find the library that's missing. Maybe one day I'll come across that little bugger.

Excellent. I shall try that! Another question... Can you tell me about the two hash rates that it shows? Why is one approximate and in parentheses? Which one is my actual hash rate?

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The official MacMiner thread on: May 11, 2013, 03:06:22 PM
Yeah, It's a hackintosh with two 5870s. Tried BFG Miner and it seemed to hang so I ran it through Terminal and sure enough I still get that "Trace/BPT trap: 5" error. I really wish I knew what was causing that. A Hackintosh running 10.8.3 *shouldn't* be any different than any other Mac running it yet I seem to get this error with any scrypt miner I try to run.

That hash rate is kinda meh for BTC... If I could get that working with scrypt I might be able to do pretty doggone well with LTC.

BTW... it works BEAUTIFULLY with my BTC pool (slush)

Hi Anonymailer! Figured I'd check in and see what's been going on. I downloaded the latest pkg and it runs for me now! If I'm looking at this right though it looks like all of my shares are getting rejected. Is there anything I can do differently? Maybe some flags I don't know of?

Oh, this is my LTC pool

I'm going ot be honest I think I got paid too much on the block that you guys are all talking about unless I did indeed earn what I did because a bunch of other shares didn't make it in mine seems to be a bit high.  help us Obiwan (slush).

Seems that's what happend with a few. Uneven distribution I guess. Some got really high, some got really low. Unless this is the "Luck" that so many have mentioned Wink Lady luck shine on me!

But I have no idea how shares and rewards are calculated. It seems sometimes I have over 2000 shares and slightly over .001 rewards and sometimes I can have as little as 11 shares and have over .002 reward. And since I don't really know how the stuff works... I just sit back and watch it happen.

Thanks Smiley But with a full time job, 2 small kids and a beautiful wife... I just ain't gonna take the time to read and then *hopefully* understand all that. LOL. SO, that's why I just sit and watch and don't complain. I know there is a method to the madness so I just ride the wave.

Same reason there is no way any normal person can read through 380 some odd pages to find an answer. They may or may not search which will still be a lot to sort through, so they continually clutter up the thread. Heck, I wonder how much clutter there is on the subject of cluttering the thread? Wink

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [MACOSX LITECOIN] One .app to mine them all! on: April 30, 2013, 11:03:00 AM
Does this work with 10.8.3? Is there any way you can put this back online? I've been trying to get LTC mining going on my hackintosh for days and I can't find anything that works. It's driving me nuts!

I like to have my laptop mine some btc and ltc while I am at work, and today when I was lying in my bed (and I think about life and I think about death) I packaged my litecoin and bitcoin miners together in a nice little .app.

If you would also like to save two seconds in your terminal routine feel free to download the package and use it. It's quite ugly and absolutely not made with any kind of quality. Expect nothing of it.

But if you have to, you can download it from here.
Bittorrent: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27720447/Mine%20everything%21/Mine%20Everything.torrent

HTTP download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27720447/Mine%20everything%21/Mine%20Everything%21.zip

To configure!

First! Put BOTH the apps in /Applications/

You need to edit one file using the Terminal. When that is done, you won't have to do any hard Terminal things, promise!

When you have placed the two apps in your /Applications folder, open a terminal and write this

Code:
nano /Applications/Mine\ everything\!.app/Contents/Resources/script

and on the second line you should write the url of the pool, your username:password. This line is about litecoin.

Save it by hitting F2 (hint! on a mac you hit fn+the button that makes the screen brighter!) and pressing Y when it asks if it should save or not.

Close the Terminal!

Open the Mine Everything! app. It will open one window that is for your litecoins and one terminal with Diablo's miner. In there you enter your pool url, username and password. And, well, you're done.

If you want to close the btc miner just close the terminal, if you want to close the ltc miner, just close the window named "Mine Everything!"

Neat!

If you want to get rid of the coins you've earned, here are some addresses.

Thank me for this package:
1M7nzsWq6buBMRiVdLee4JvBRaB6fwnqj9 (btc) or
Lanzaazo95LxRYejoyGpNto39CRuvtZPCt (ltc)

I'll try those. And yeah, I can't get any appstore stuff to work other than updates, because this is a custom built hackintosh Wink shhhh... don't tell.

I knew Xcode was out of date. For some reason I can't get the installer for 4.6.2 to launch but I didn't figure it was *that* big of a deal. Anyway, how do I uninstall with Brew?

Yeah, it gave the same error on slush. Repaired permissions and still the same. Is it possible that installing Xcode (and Xcode command line utils), Macports, and Homebrew may have caused some problems? I installed MacMiner last and I've installed it over itself several times.
18  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: MacMiner beta with bfgminer included - testers wanted on: April 29, 2013, 05:37:58 PM
All of those lib files exist. I copied everything like you said and did the cp with terminal and still have the same error. I did notice when I was looking through the usr/lib folder that I had 173 alias files in there. Should those be there?

entered my info for slush's pool and it doesn't like that either.
19  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: MacMiner beta with bfgminer included - testers wanted on: April 29, 2013, 04:52:54 PM
Ah sorry, my fault, it means it's not linked up to the libraries properly because I used aliases to replicate my system - I've replaced the aliases with the actual libraries now, if you download the pkg and run it again you should have success running it in the terminal now! Thanks for being patient Smiley

Patient with you? Thanks for being patient with me! I reinstalled with the new pkg and got the same thing.
