1  Economy / Economics / Re: Salary in Bitcoin, is it a good idea? on: May 02, 2013, 07:57:58 PM

Bitcoin payments for online jobs would be better. If freelance job websites like odesk accepted bitcoin payments it could be the next big step for bitcoins.

I just found these by a quick google. I don't know how solid things like this are yet. But... it's interesting.

I've been mining on:

for a week or so now and have been paid throughout.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 7970 Question :D on: April 23, 2013, 01:55:16 PM
I had a 7970 for a day, trying to get it to work. No matter what I tried, I could not get it above 600 khs (scrypt for LTC). So you're already doing better than I managed. I'm wondering if it's a motherboard or software or some other thing. There are a lot of settings on cgminer to tweak, so if you've only tried default so far... give it a try. There are guides around for tweaking it. I was doing scrypt and read the script-readme in the cgminer distribution. There are some good threads here for optimizing, too.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining on Intel integrated GPU? on: April 22, 2013, 01:09:56 PM
I found this topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=71366.40

It appears someone is doing it. I don't have a dedicated mining rig, just using my desktop. I figure I might as well use everything I have rather than let it sit idle (computer is running anyway).

I just updated the driver for the Intel HD 4000. Running cgminer -n, I get the output below. It's apparently getting an error trying to get the device ID of the intel GPU. Any ideas on how to get it working?

I'm using these settings on my 7970:
cgminer.exe -w 256 --thread-concurrency 28672 --gpu-engine 1120 --gpu-memclock 1780 -I 13 --auto-fan --scrypt

and I get 600 khs. I've tried all sorts of combinations. Is that really the best it can do or am I missing something?

LTC?

Yes, mining LTC (thus the --scrypt in the setting).

I would really like some help. I've been through both guides (SCRYPT-README and a thread on here) I could find and I can't seem to get my 7970 above 600 khs for litecoin mining. I look at the hardware comparison and supposedly people are getting 750 khs even at a far lower clock rate than I'm able to put in. A little frustrating.
