HR you still fudding?  It's been like 2 weeks since you sold early and you're still fudding.  You've lost all respect you ever had from every single member of Bitcointalk.  Just stop dude.  You're embarrassing yourself and you're not harming DGB.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★DigiByte|极特币★★[DGB]✔ DigiSync v6.14.2 - DigiSpeed - Segwit -DiguSign on: June 02, 2017, 06:11:29 PM
Hey guys,

Been a bit busy but as promised I made a wikipedia article for DigiByte. It's not huge and certainly not comprehensive but having seen so many people asking if DGB is a scam or if it's 'real' I thought it would be prudent to make as good an article as I possibly could for you guys. If any of you long term community members could check it out and possible make additions (or even corrections where necessary) that'd be awesome.  I urge you all to be careful though, it is a wikipedia article not an advertisement.  If you feel conflicted in any way do not add to the post and always be unbias and CITE everything you can.  Any sort of bias or advertisement on there will do far more harm than good, so be honest and respectful if you change anything!  Remember it's about information, the good the bad and the ugly, not about trying to get people to buy your stuff.

Anyway I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and congratulations to you all on a fantastic moon mission today.

Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digibyte

PS: I just formally saved the page about 10minutes before I typed this message but I have to sleep.  I hope it is not removed due to some wikipedia technicality but if it does happen to be removed while I sleep I will find out why and make the necessary corrections.  If it's gone when you search for it that may be why!

Hey guys, because nobody else has done this yet I have decided to write a wikipedia article for DigiByte over the next couple of days.  I'm fairly new to DGB (thought not to crypto as a whole), I only found and invested in DGB this year, so there is likely a lot I don't know about it's history and it's tech.  It would be very helpful if you any of the guys who have been here longer could give me a quick run down on DigiByte's history or even better offer to help with it by writing parts of the page.

The reason I want to do this is because I see a lot of forum comments on reddit, /biz/ and the like asking if DGB is a scam if it's real if it's a shit coin etc.  I believe a well written Wikipedia article will help the face of DGB immensely as the devs switch (in their words) to 'marketing mode'.  A wiki article will allow people to get a good, concise summary of DGB and make it seem more above board and legitimate.  Not to mention the fact that searching for DigiByte currently sends you to 'AuroraCoin' with the comments 'Originally based on Litecoin with a scrypt proof-of-work algorithm, on March 8, 2016 a new codebase was released using a multi-algo architecture based on Digibyte and pioneered by Myriadcoin.'.  Which to me just makes DGB seem old/outdated/less promising.

If there is anything you feel is definitely worth mentioning or any good sources of information to quote for the wiki page I'd be grateful if you could post them here!

We have been absolutely bombarded with messages, questions and support the last few days. It is a great problem to have!  Stay tuned everyone!

It really is and it's fantastic to see you being so active on social media while you must simultaneously be working your asses off.  Looking forward to the summer!

In other news looks like we might be pumping on the charts.  Hope you all held after the crash because I think it was just a healthy correction/trying to find a new floor.

How's it going to be financed? Who's going to pay for the payouts?

If you ask me, it's on permanent pause.

why don't you let it go.. why are you even here? I've read thru the last 5 or so pages in the thread and all you do is FUD. Sounds like you're bitter for some unknown reason. There's countless other coins you could bash. how bout travelling to the bytecoin thread and bash the non existent devs over there. at least this dev is present. Just leave. and before you even try to reply to me with your concerns, just realize, I do not care and will probably not even read your response.

He's a hardcore XMY supporter, that's why. Just read his posts at the XMY thread.

Shame he shat all over his reputation so hard nobody will listen to him when he starts talking about XMY.  Wish he'd just get out of the DGB threads unless he wants to be productive again (not bringing up the same old posts in quotes every page to get maximum FUD).

Thank you for the bootstrap, that will help immensely. Currently I'm at an estimated 7 years 2 weeks to sync.... :p

Don't worry about that, it is wrong!  The progress bars are also useless.

Fantastic coding, wouldn't you say? (In case anyone ever really wondered why so much resistance to documentation.)

I reported all the most evident wallet issues just after its release by the way, without response from the Dev. Did that at the same time I was asking for release notes (which I couldn't find because they didn't exist). Oh well. Tried my best to be a constructive part of something viable anyway, even if it didn't work out.

Caveat emptor.

HR I'll say this once and not again so I want you to take it on board.  I've completely stopped listening to you now.  You come across as angry and bitter and you let your emotions about a business deal cloud your own better judgement when you decided to pick fights on here ending in you selling at 350.  Now you just seem like you're out for DGB blood because you're salty you cashed out early and burned bridges as well as reputation.  It's petty and I'm done with your comments because they have stopped bringing anything to the table but insults and jabs.

To the moon ladies and gentleman, that is where we are going.  Could easily break 800SAT here that sweet 1000 is looking doable.  Really establishing itself as more than a 1 trick pony I think!  In the last 24hours we've hit so many milestones it's unbelievable.

Don't worry about that, it is wrong!  The progress bars are also useless.  Just sit back and let it sync, took me less than half a day to do it on a friends computer yesterday from scratch.

Guys, sell or HODL? Cheesy

HODL!  You ain't seen nothing yet.  Even some of the most optimistic people are being blown away by DGB's growth and I think it will get picked up by more foreign exchanges soon which could help immensely.

Small compression, can see it breaking 500 sat by the end of the day.  Here's to hoping.

Way ahead of you  Cheesy

It was 470 when I posted that!  Anyway it's doing very well!  Congratz all.

As for a white paper, I don't mind there is no DGB specific white paper. BTC had the start, go read its white paper.

You know, that’s your decision and I respect it, even though it’s opposite my views.

What’s more, and again, in spite of it being the antithesis of what I support, I respect you much more than the coward who simply tries to evade the topic or sweep it under the rug.

Like the people involved in DASH who say they don’t care about the instamine, you have the right to say you don’t care about the lack of documentation.

As long as everyone is informed, then everyone’s entitled to their own decision.

However, just as I respect you, I think it’s only fair you respect my point of view too, don’t you?

If there’s no problem with you saying you don’t care, what problem is there with me saying I do?

In fact, society values those who express their concerns.

I care about the lack of documentation and have been actively taking advantage of every opportunity over the last couple of years to say so and try to instigate a change for the positive. What’s the problem with that?

That’s one thing that should have stayed at that.

The problem is when you are intimidated, attacked and slandered for your legitimate views (and good documentation is legitimate, of course, it’s a best practice), and when it’s the Dev himself, then all the warning lights should go off. (And when it's personal character assassination, one should be duly indignant.)

Is this so hard to see?

I had him pull the “read the code yourself” on me last year with questions about how the individual algos reset their individual difficulty to mine settings and whether they were linked or not. I chalked it up to his own emotional limitations and not being able to handle the directness of our questions. What’s doubly concerning today is that a year has gone by and the same response was given to someone else at their first asking. There’s no emotion involved in being concerned about a pattern of behavior that continues to this day and flies in the face of all conventional wisdom regarding what it takes for a tech project to succeed.

First there was astonishment on my part, then indignation, and I’ve explained this enough already. Let it be a word to the wise, and to those who just don’t get it, we can all turn the page and go on.

(And no, even though these things would have been indirectly included in the offer I made to DigiByte, none of this was a material aspect.)

P.S. To those of you with your hallucinogenic theories about why this happened, or what my motivations are, etc., give it a rest. It’s not that complicated. It is what it is. You can accept it or not, but not accepting it won't change what it is. And the best thing, of course, is to accept reality as it is and not try to impose what you think it should be. Did I say a word to the wise already?

Never though that your opinion was to be kept to yourself or that it deserved no respect. Just offered another perspective from a long-time holder's point of view.
No. And I didn't want to insinuate that was your intention. Simply wanted to use your comment as the basis for a general description of the situation to everyone here. It was not specifically directed at you, and I apologize if it came off that way. Not at all. Just a good opportunity to illustrate a healthy dichotomy for everyone to contemplate.

Am I missing something or did HR forget to get off his alt account? Grin

Nice little break we've seen today.  Twitter looks nice an optimistic too.  Great job on contacting exchanges everyone and hope all of you, and DigiByte, have a good weekend.
Bitcoin is rising again. Thats gonna have negative effect on every alt. but still DGB is holding strong.

Yes but I was expecting a so called 'Red Weekend' as the BTC traders were saying on twitter.  That didn't happen because ETH breaking $100 slowed BTC's roll, so to speak.  Hopefully the ETH market can hold BTC back from killing alts this weekend.  As usual though, anything can happen.
What worries me is how fast bitcoin and volume in general is rising. Could this be a bubble?

Could it be?  Sure.  Is it?  Who knows.  I don't believe so, personally.

Check out what a successful 2nd tier 1 generation coin looks like: http://syscoin.org/  Or at least a potential survivor.

I'm obviously not talking with them.  Cheesy

Friend, we have heard you out but please stop using the Forum for DGB to push other coins and insist on us getting out.  You've said your piece as has Jared and as you mentioned before, people have heard you out and will make appropriate changes based on their opinions.  I'm not disagreeing that DGB can be improved and neither are DGB themselves but I've heard what they have to say with regards to man power prioritisation and their current plans.  I like it, and will stay.  Others might not, and may leave, that's fine, but you need to let it go now.  You just seem petty, are derailing the thread and not being very consistent with it either.  I'm not saying be a blind yes man but don't bring your emotions and personal feelings on private interactions with the DGB team into this thread please.

I will appreciate your analyses, regardless its positive or negative if its objective analyses. But you sound upset and I get the feeling its getting personal for you, and if thats the case, I won't be able to trust your objectivity. Plus you are contradicting yourself. First your price estimate is ridiculously high and then you give it worse odds than Las Vegas casino. I didn't like your .001 prediction or arguments you gave to back it up, and I don't like your negative analyses either. Both of them are biased, based on emotion not on logic.

Agreed, I tried bringing it up again but his backup for it was still 'anything can happen' and then gave an article to another coin rising 1000% (We'd need to hit 1000 SAT and THEN rise 1000% to get to 0.001 by the way and he had no reason to say why we'd follow suit).  Your 'analysis' isn't backed up by anything real and always seems to sway wildly to the extremes (here and in other threads) and that's why people don't take kindly to your aggressive turn of face, which to your own admission comes right after the DGB devs turned down a deal you offer them Huh Huh .  Likewise I would hope the DGB devs can keep these matters private in the future.  For the first time since the initial rise from 20 SAT I'm getting concerned, only mildly but I thought I'd add my 2 cents to the matter.

In the meantime I'm seeing lots of people on twitter trying to make a case for DGB on other exchanges, keep it up guys and keep up the positive image of DGB that you all worked hard to achieve.

I've reposted below, for the 3rd time, the tongue-in-cheek, have a little fun reference to the OFFICIAL 1000:1 DGB:BTC ratio, with an explanation regarding possibilities based on FACTS that are seen not only in the representative example posted, but in the dozens of cases where a 1000% short term pump has occurred (if you'd done your math, you'd have realized that to get to .001, or the 1000:1 ratio, it was exactly 1000% more or less from where we were at the time . . . ironically).

With your insistence over and over again for an answer that's already been given twice before now, it looks like you are bent on getting something else that you'd prefer to hear, which suggests that the emotion and lack of objectivity is coming from you.

Enough miners for you to stick to 0.001 by July?  Even now I still find this quite the claim.

I already answered you here:

Regarding .001 BTC by the first week of July:

1) This is crypto, and anything can happen. Witness XBC just a couple of months ago: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@lokisullivan/bitcoin-plus-gains-over-1000-in-24-hours

https://i.imgur.com/w3JGWum.jpg

Anything can happen.

2) Seasonality in crypto is strong into July (but that could extend this year given current bullishness).

3) .001 = the 1000:1 DGB:BTC ratio

4) Just having fun with a not completely impossible eventuality.  Wink

P.S. How many more examples like XBC can you find? Dozens? It's not that far fetched.

And if you'd like to get some more insight into my objectivity, please read my other posts in this thread too.

Your facts are

1. Comparing it to an incomparable coin that had a big price rise at a different market cap with different tech
2. That suggests a rise nobody is questioning that, they are questioning your scale
3. So?  Meaningless ratio in terms of WHY it will get there
4. Having fun isn't facts

FOMO is starting to kick in. Buying/selling on Polo is starting to skip Satoshis. Price went from 167 straight to 170.
I've been in from day 1 and I can't remember it getting this high since the initial fall from several hundred Satoshi post-exchange listing  Shocked

We have a new target on the 15 minute chart of 204 SAT.

I wouldn't be surprised with 300+ in the next few hours though.

It's all the same to me though since I won't be selling until we get to .001 BTC . . . which could be the first week of July.  Cool

This is a major ball bustin' bull market!

thats the right way to go. If you don't like or understand the coin, dont invest! simple as that. You won't go far chasing a bubble

Words to live by, in all aspects of investment not just crypto.
