1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO ? Is it worth it ? on: June 20, 2017, 07:49:01 PM
Can anyone inform me a little on the ICO market ? Basically it's an investment that can bring profit or not bring anything, this part is clear.
I would like to know if there are any trusted ICO's out there and not just the regular runners with the investments.
Has anyone here had any substantial succes with any ICO ? Like you invested in some ICO when the shares were costing close to nothing and now to be worth a lot ?

ETH was basically an ICO, well not exactly but a crowdsale at first. Look at where it is now.
2  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Venezuela future dictatorship on: June 04, 2017, 11:24:13 AM
Venezuelan dictatorship is already doomed. Such regimes can only survive if the bordering states are just as bad, or if they are North Korea. Maduro want's to rule the country with an iron fist, but to do that furst he needs tho have the said iron fist. I don't think he's willing to bring out tanks and drown the opposition protests in blood. Sure he may be OK with a few casualties, but nothing like what the Soviets and Chinese did in order to retain their power.

A regime at war with its own people is doomed to fall sooner or later.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: Matter of opinion about Paypal on: May 31, 2017, 01:25:50 PM
How did you receive the check, via mail? Basically if you can't cash it out your only hope is to contact paypal again and if you haven't called them on the phone so far then do it. I've noticed many issues that are being dragged on for ages through normal online support get resolved in minutes with one simple phone call. Other than that they're like the mafia, you can't reason with them, and things always have to go their way.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Duterte's promise to get rid of drugs 29 days left on: May 30, 2017, 11:37:08 AM
Duterte promised to eliminate drug use in 6 months, Trump promised to build a wall on the Mexican border, all shockvalue promises to make yourself more likeable to the public. To be honest he could probably get rid of drug use in 6 weeks, but it would be a most ugly show to watch. If he can fulfill his promise in more time but with less violence it's always the better option, but I fear that's just not his thing.

No matter how much violence he use, it is not possible to wipe-out the drug trade. There are millions of drug users there, and as long as the demand exists, supply will also be there. If violence is used, then there will be a lot of collateral damage as well.

Yea, he can decrease the use in general, but mostly he'll succeed in skyrocketing the price of drugs. This will eventually make the business so lucrative that many people won't care for the dangers and there will always be someone supplying some amounts of drugs in hopes of getting rich quickly.
5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The U.S Will Attempt To Intercept An ICBM For The First Time Ever on: May 29, 2017, 10:39:03 PM
Nine successful interceptions out of 17 doesn´t seem a very promising statistic to me, especially given that these results are often exaggerated.

Well still much better than zero. This is equivalent to the invention of practicle body armor against modern firearms back in the 20th century. It won't save you every time, but you'd feel safer having it. If the 17 largest cities in the US for example are targeted and destroyed by nukes, that seems like the end of America, but if 9 can survive, there might be a future for the country.

Well I don't think you'll get to who you want to in this subforum. You better go to the Currency Exchange part of BTT and start a thread there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

Why I want a time machine ...

To back the time and to sell my house and buy all bitcoins avalabile Smiley and after wait them to grow up Smiley

If you buy them all and HODL them for years, the market won't develop and they'll probably cost nothing Cheesy

Why go back in time at all? It's too complicated. Just sell the time machine to the highest bidder and buy all the BTC you want Grin
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: May 26, 2017, 08:39:17 PM
No Islam doesn't hate people. Islam loves people because the religion needs followers. What Islam hates is when those people refuse to convert to it. When this happens Islam kills such people...religion of peace... Yea, maybe if you believe achieving peace by removing all who disagree with you is a legitimate way of doing it.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alphabay will accept Zcash <<-- HUUUUGE PUMP coming :) on: May 25, 2017, 01:45:25 PM
This is wonderful for all the poor people who bought Zscam at insane prices last November. They might be able to cut down their losses if they're still holding. This will also make ZEC price more stable in the long run. Excellent news for miners too.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: What crypto sites do you visit daily? on: May 24, 2017, 11:36:44 AM
Subreddits and slack channels(if available) of all currencies I've invested in, gotta keep up to date with the latest news. Recently it's become a habit of mine to check Coinmarketcap immediately after I wake up. And of course bitcointalk, since this place is still the hub of all things and discussions crypto related. I also have this skype chat with local miners who discuss various crypto stuff(and too much unrelated BS) and it takes me about half to one hour to go through their usually around 1000 messages a day.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it dangerous to store all bitcoin in 1 address? on: May 24, 2017, 11:26:53 AM
A friend got his wallet stolen one time. He was lazy and hadn't used a good password or 2FA. However the same laziness meant all his coins were spread among many other wallets, which he eventually planned to gather all in one(the one that got stolen) so he only lost a part of his funds. Learn from others mistakes, don't store everything at the same place or at least use adequate security measures.

Also if you hold everything in one place and lose your private key/JSON file or whatever you use to log in, it's game over.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cassius Dio, the jews, cyprus, what happened? (Question from a internet picture) on: May 23, 2017, 10:45:46 AM
Back a few centuries BC there was a significant Jewish presence on Cyprus. War broke out somewhere around 100 BC between the kings of Judaea and Egypt. The quote you have here sounds more like Roman propaganda against the Jews, because at the times when this was written they were rebelling against the Roman empire.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Source of revenue for android and ios app on: May 20, 2017, 10:30:38 AM
Microtransactions are a popular way to cash in on your game. Also you can make it closely connected with a website, meaning users have to use your website from time to time to register an account or something like that and you can have ads on the site instead of in the app itself.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: A Film Reviews and Essays Site for Bitcoiners on: May 19, 2017, 10:05:19 PM
Biggest disagreement? Lest see, just recently I was re-watching Undisputed 2 with some friends. We were praising the film for the choreography of the fight scenes when the only one who hadn't watched it said they looked cheap and lazy. He said the movements were too choppy and the fighting was all around too over the top. A heated debate ensued which ended with an attempt to recreate a certain part of the movie and several of us fighting on the ground for a croissant. Good times.

Your review made me decide to skip on going to see Alien Covenant. Thank you for that and good luck with the site!
