I got 1 280x in a windows box, ran it at 730KH/s and yes VRAM temp is 103C for #1 and 101C for #2. I don't know is this a problem though?
If they were to die, I guess I would just return them. I mean they do have warranty?
EDIT: I also noticed something funny, when running the GPU-Z tools the hashrate actually drops about 40KH/s for me. Simply closing it put's it back at 730KH/s.

Ok, I'm looking for a way to get VRM temps in Debian... seems hard to find an app that will do it

Yes this is perfectly safe.
Quite a few people use the Cryptsy auto-sell feature and just have their coins sold imminently as they are mined and confirmed.

Hmm.. I got 2 Sapphire 280x Vapor-X each pushing about 760KH/s, both hoover around 60-70C, never been higher. I love these cards.. All my 7950's struggle to keep under 80C..

Sounds good, sry I'm not a prospect since I only buy 280x these days. Got to love how cool they run and the 760KH/s you get from one ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) If someone want a lower end card at I good price I would say this could be a good buy.

+- 18 months of mining 24/7. 6 months warranty left, this is a gamble I would say. I personally got 6 XFX 7950 on one of my rigs, I wouldn't sell those after 18 months of mining, I would consider them dead ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) imho

@atheistftwins
Thank you, I could not have written it better my self! There are sane people out there..

@moonpool
I Agree, if this coin is not hard-forked it will die. I believe two weeks time the NET KH/s will be below 100. This would mean a retarget in 6-8 months. Noone will accept that, no sane miner would pay REAL fiat in electricity bills just for a single alt-coin when there is 100+ today. Maybe there is that "one-guy" that is too naive to see it but will continue to mine it in it's current state "until death do him part".
What I've seen in the last two months is that the community has changed from being a majority of "goodwill - for the cryptos" folks to a majority of "Pump n dump - no time for anything else" folks. I think this new majority is here to stay as long as they can make money. Times have changed, it will never be what it was. They who fail to recognize this are fools, I mean do they still buy Deutsche Mark even though Germany got the Euro just to make a point?

Hey guys, Anyone knows what the frontend is called that i.e. www.wemineltc.com is using. I see quite a few pools using it and it's so much neater than MPOS.

Skulle inte chansa.. Bättre växla BTC till fiat och köpa lokalt med garanti och ingen risk för scam skulle jag säga.

I'm compiling the Windows wallet now.. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

By the way, if anyone wants to get their catcoin.conf ready to go for solo mining when the wallet drops... (this is from the source) rpcport=9933 listen=1 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=pass server=1 obviously this doesn't include the nodes since we don't know what those are yet. Well, to have the RPC port same as the external connection port is not all that good for most folks. I would suggest this which is not used by any other coin.
|
|
|
Well with just hours left to launch the source cannot be built.. this is moving to become flopcoin..
|
|
|
This coin is just going to die if there are no nodes to sync with, all are offline.

Ok, so this is going to be pretty much a copy of Bitcoin but with scrypt yes?
