1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥[GUNBOT] Automatic Poloniex Profit Generator🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: February 22, 2018, 02:32:08 PM
I assume we are in agreement that the bot can only profit (sell high) when there is upward momentum.
Ah I'm changing that so soon we will have to disagree on this: it is called REVERSAL TRADING, implemented and actually in beta group.
Gun

Hi Gunther, I must say this is the best crypto bot out there. One qn though when should we expect "REVERSAL TRADING" strategy. It sounds really cool

Guys is there any chance of moving beyond moding the FAN. Coz I dont see any more juice that can be squeezed from these D3'S unless a new dev direction is sought.  There is literary 1000 ways one would want their Fans etc to operate Huh
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 firmware modification thread (voltage & fan mods) on: November 14, 2017, 03:16:42 PM
Let me make this clear, changing to a different algorithm is NON-TRIVIAL, but doable.

It is a deal-killer if the published source code isn't ALL the source code to the miner application.  For all I know there are some other daemons that are not published, that get in, get out at boot time, or at other intervals that modify the miner logic.  (That is what I would do, so I would be surprised if bitmain didn't do the same thing).

So anybody who has worked with that source code .. have you tried to compile the published code, and do you end up with the same binary?

How do you ssh into the kernel?   Does published source code exist for everything?

try this to ssh into D3

http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/antminerapi.aspx

THEN SIMPLY

ssh username@192.168.1.X
'enter password'

I managed to implement the hardware undervolting Mod and I must say it works like magic. Currently doing 6.9V @ 437MHZ giving me about 15.3GH with no HW errors  Grin
I think if D3 is unlocked to other algos, this would be like having an early xmas coz bitmain fooled so many pple by over selling these machines and they are doing the same thing now to L3+
So if for example i can use my D3 on Scrypt. It would mean a vast number of pple will not order from bitmain but simply change algo of the D3 they already own which would put bitmain in check atleast for a short while.

I wouldnt mind paying for these software mods just to stick it up to bitmain

after under volting to 7.1v is it ok to set a higher clock value other than 430mhz. if so, which value would be most optimal for this under volted "7.1v" miner ?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Profitability of D3 Antminer November Batch (21-30 Nov) on: November 08, 2017, 04:54:08 PM
Hi, has anyone else experienced high-temps with D3's from the October batch?

I realise the October units run a higher frequency and hash at 19-21ghz, but even lowing the frequency to 487 so they are the same as the September batch, the chips read 84degrees, where my September units are running 73degrees.

Ambient temperature is below 20degrees.

Stats;

Old Units
Temp(PCB) = 60
Temp (Chip) = 74
Fan = 4,800 (bursts up to 5,010)

New Units (with frequency lowered to 487 to be the same as September batch)
Temp(PCB) = 66
Temp (Chip) = 83
Fan = 5,500 (bursts up to 5,900)

I have raised with Bitmain but no response yet.  I am am experiencing this with all my units, has anyone else experienced this?
All heatsyncs appear to be installed (can't check without breaking the warranty seal, and this is across all my latest units.

You are not alone. I am having the same issues; high Chip temp. Fan goes up 6100 in my case.

Me to. the temp is too high the the fans can't manage cooling the system

Hello , and thanks for share , i m waiting 1 for batch end of november , difficulty is very stuck now.
it 's very interesting to mod i think , yeah a good point would be to have mutli algo possible , buyt i think it s a dream , bitmain dont care about customer , buy a product 2 month before is just a trap ...
but anyway , i'll could have photos of D3 for the next batch , and probably have photo of l3+ 1-10 nov batch soon for you Smiley

For multi algo we're hand over to the bitmain I am afraid....
Send me the L3+ pics once you got it Smiley

The antminer D3
As an owner of the October batch of the antminer D3 I have good news. I now run my antminer D3 stable @ 15Gh/s with just 750 watts.  Cool
I decided to go for a mod, because I couldn't run the fans at full speed because of the noise. Therefore I could only run 13 Mh/s @ 850 watts before the mod, which is now not very profitable. Cry

The mod:
To get there I tried to reverse engineer the power circuit of the antminer D3 mining boards. Unfortunately there is some chip which I still don't know the specs from (labeled ADP BDY+), but I found out it's controlling the PWM of the mosfets.
So I tried changing the resistors around it and found out that changing the resistor R80 controls the voltage. Woop Woop Grin
So if you want to do the mod I advice to replace R80 by a 25k ohm potentiometer. The voltage can be measured over C948

Improvement:
without the mod the total voltage supplied to the asic chips is fixed @ 8.15v on the October batch. That means 1300 watts for 19Gh/s
After the mod the voltage is fully adjustable by using the potentiometer. It also allows to increase the voltage for overclocking if you want to do so.
But overclocking is not my goal, I wanted a silent miner: Therefore I now run my boards @ 7.1v @ 430 Mhz stable. That means 750 Watts for 15Gh/s
That is 50 instead of 68 watt per Gh/s  Cool

Photos
The mod is quite easy if you have some proper soldering skills, but it's tricky if you don't have the proper tools / not have a steady hand...

ps. I will make new higher res zoomed pics soon.

Other possible mods:

Fan mod: (only when undervolting)
as I don't like that noise at all I also did some fan mods. I added a voltage regulator on one of the fans to decrease the noise during startup. cgminer won't allow you to go bellow 5000rpm othwerwise the miner fails to start.
Furthermore I replaced the second fan with a 2000rpm silent fan. To make this work you have to use the yellow wire (fan rpm) from the first fan as wire for the 2nd fan. Otherwise it detects a too low fan speed on the second fan.
I can say that running both fans @ 2000 rpm is acceptable to run it in a living room now.

Power supply mod: (only when undervolting)
By default the power supply runs @ 12.2v. I used the potentiometer inside to make it run @ 12.05v. This saves a few watts of power as well. Furthermore I added a regulator on the fan, to run it at 5v as this  small fans makes an annoying high frequency noise when running at full speed.

Support
I hope this information does inspire you and help you improve the efficiency on the antminer D3. I hope to improve the mod: as I want to look into a software mod to enable changing the voltage from software. This would really open up the possibilities for all the users.
To get there I still look for a copy of the November miner firmware as bitmain is not supplying this yet. If one can login using ssh and make a full copy of the all the files that would be really welcome.

Support on this mod project is more than welcome as I want to have a spare D3 for modding the software. A (damaged) donor D3 or S9 would be very welcome as well, as this baby really needs some mods too Smiley

Impressive, well done. Undervolting would void the warranty prob like with oc.

Which is the first FAN ? inlet or outlet fan. ?
What Fan model are you using that gives you 2000rpm silent fan ?
Can't it work if i replaced both fans with the silent fans ?

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon's A4 Dominator, 1.2W/Mhs 14nm ASIC and miner, open for Partners on: October 24, 2017, 06:55:59 AM
I have preordered 5 a4's.
I waited 3 weeks for confirmation about payment via bank transfer.
I got the email that the waiting time is gonna be longer but no official time now on shipping.

As far as i know so far with the limited info:

Old A4 was 1500usd.
New A4+ is gonna be around 2950usd.

Any update on this? Have you heard anything about paying outstanding balances yet on the preorders?

Guys.
I got a mail today from shupp@innosiiicon.com.cn telling me to pay the outstanding pre-order balance to the account below

Bank:China Merchants Bank
Bank Address:HeadOffice
adress:China Merchants Bank Tower No.7088, Shennan Boulevard,Shenzhen,China
Beneficiary: SONGMIN
Beneficiary's a/c no.:6214 8376-766-0078
SWIFT: CMBCCNBSXXX

Am wondering if innosilicon changed their bank account or this was a scam attempt. ?!
I have written to innosilicon through their website and hoping on a response to clarify this.
So if you get a similar mail, I suggest you contact innosilicon directly through their site first before transferring any money to the above account.

This is 100% scam!!!
This has nothing to do with innosilicon bank.
Their bank is account is:
2. Payment:
Company name: INNOSILICON TECHNOLOGY LTD
Account Number: 8011 8168 6838
Bank : HSBCHK (HSBC Hongkong)
Swift Code : HSBCHKHHHKH
Bank Address: 1 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong

Anything different than this is scam.
Open your eyes good before you pay.

What really bothers me is how do the scammers know you have ordered?
Do they have an insider in innosilicon?
Where did you made the order? Was it on their site or somewhere else?

I have only been communicating to innosilicon through their website and i was also wondering how this guy got to know all my preorder details.
I still have not goten any response from innosilicon about this issue. I will keep you posted if i get any response from them.

I bought a miner a4 a month and a half ago and it worked perfectly but yesterday one of the 4 cores crashed. simply disappeared as if it did not exist. I can not find anyone with this problem. Someone can help me ?

Atleast you received yo miner. Most of us have not goten any miners we preordered from innosilicon. They stopped answering emails or picking calls ??!!

Thank you! If I get any decent info I will reply with it.

try calling them on this number:

Tel: +86 27-87531668  ext  304

They have some pple who speak english. Though i think something bad is going on at innosilicon. this silence has never hapenned with these guys.

Any news yet ?

Is there anyone here with contacts to innosilioc. I have tried emailing them using their contact form on their website but getting no answer! All Skype contacts are scam am told.   Do they still participate on bitcointalk forum ? I really need to speak to a human from innosilicon to verify this thing about A4 -> A4+ for pple who preordered Aug - Sep batch and don't want to upgrade. Has anyone received their machine from these guys for Aug - Sep  batch ?? Sad Sad

Does this mean that everyone who ordered A4 "Aug - Sept" batch now has to forcefully upgrade to A4+, pay more money and wait till November ? OMG
What if I dont want this A4+ miner. Do I get my money back that I used to preorder the original A4.  What is happening to Innosilicon ?
We need answers.
