1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex zcash temporarily disabled on: July 10, 2017, 01:58:04 AM
This is unbelievable.

When I first made the transfer a few days back, there was no mention of the wallet being down (certainly not when clicking on [balances] / [deposits & withdrawals] to get the deposit address.

Now almost all of my crypto is tied up with these jokers.

I wouldn't even mind.. if they just had the decency to answer my support ticket and assure me I would see my Zcash again once the wallet is up.

Monero and Verge.

Your IP is broadcast with Zcash/Zcoin/PIVX.

XMR is king. XVG is the up-and-comer.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 05, 2017, 03:43:01 PM
Guys, please stop bother yourself with the price speculation. Just follow TrueCryptonaire posts. Every time he says the price is going deep down - the price rises up and every time he joins/buys Monero and starts praising it - the price drops down. This happens in every single f.ucking price prediction post he has made trough out the years. I can't stop laughing when he predicts something.

I watched him spruik XVG at 4 sats a day or 2 before it shot to 220.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: July 05, 2017, 03:31:23 PM
What does Future mean ?
Money profits ?

Or ?

Adoption ?
Isn't the point of the "coin" ..the intent?

If a currency is launched and after years it STILL not used as one..
And there seems to be no real tangible prospects it ever will be then what is the future about ?

You are all so utterly consumed and obsessed with profits.
You don't even see the point.

I agree with this. I'm well aware that most of these coins are total scams. They do **** all for the most part. Ridiculous value with zero real world use. Just another wannabe Bitcoin in a different colour/flavour. Or they take something which already exists and is working fine and say "Hey.. look... now it's DECENTRALISED! That's worth a BILLION dollar market cap, yeah?".

However... I do think a few coins will survive. Notably Monero, which is quickly becoming BTC's little brother on the dark net.
And there is some corporate justification for blockchain tech, as the Deloitte partnership with the Waves platform demonstrates. The smart contract stuff might be total bull****, but the token mechanic is very interesting. It will require regulation, but I don't think it's going away.

Ok. I'm in. Any chance of a slack invite?

Cheers.

...

Hi Sumoshi..

Is Sumokoin still on track for Bittrex? (you mentioned end of June). No sweat if not, just interested.

I think this coin has a lot of potential (although it might need some SEO so that google doesn't keep trying to change "sumokoin" to "sambokojin" (http://sambokojin.com/) ^___^

Is this refutable: http://monerolink.com/monerolink.pdf ?

Basic article about the research here: http://www.altcointoday.com/monero-transactions-traceable/

Good lord is it difficult to figure which currency is the "most" anonymous (Dash, Zcash, Monero, Verge, ZenCash etc).

Then, on top of that, which one has "enough" privacy for the masses. And which are easy/easiest to use?

I do feel like it only makes sense for one anonymous coin to survive long term. I don't think it will be added to Bitcoin in a fork. Believe it or not, the masses really don't care about their privacy.
