1  Economy / Services / Re: [FREE] Bitcoin Transaction Accelerator on: December 28, 2017, 02:46:32 AM
Hi Blossom / spider / anyone else involved, thanks for all your hard work on this.

I have a transaction stuck in limbo the last few days from a mining payout on multipool.  Is there anything you can do to help?  They set the fees ridiculously low, it's out of my control.

here's the txid:

Thanks in advance, have a nice day.

ckPool, slush or connectBTC if you rather constant payout without luck involved (but be warned, connectBTC is basically bitmain by another name)

You couldn't pay me to mine on Kanopool.  The guy is just terrible, he runs his thread like a little dictator and his supporters are drunk on koolaid.  Ask him about the $75k USD (or more, significantly more by now) of unpaid 'dust' he refuses to pay people that they're owed even after three years of 'working on it'.   Don't actually ask him about that unless you want him to throw a hissyfit and demand you leave his self-moderated thread.

Best by far: Datum

They already have hardware, working prototype, very active development, a whitelist, and KYC.

Datum breaks the mold - It has a real use case, a functional prototype, very active development crew and a real potential to affect positive change in the world.

Hi, thanks for making this very useful and well made tool available.

From using it a bit, two suggestions comes to mind:

1) Add a time-until-next-update stat up towards the top, maybe even with a javascript count-down function, that basically says 'Page will update in 6 hours, 37 minutes', etc.  For a while I kept refreshing it until i found this thread and saw that it is updated once a day.  I think this will help keep from overloading your server.

2) ADD A DONATE LINK.  Seriously, you earned it.

Thanks again, great work.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / How Datum (DAT) will change the world for the better. on: November 01, 2017, 04:51:00 PM
Hello everyone,

Been a while, I've been super busy here lately, but I wanted to take a minute to discuss a new project I've invested in and why I strongly believe it's worth your time to look into it.

Datum is a new token used to establish a global data marketplace.  I'll spare you the sales pitch, their website does a fine job of covering the details.  But one thing I think it fails to discuss adequately is how Datum could literally change the world.

Quote
(TL;DR version:  Jobs are scarce; poverty sucks; Datum will get you free money for the anonymized usage data you already generate all day anyways)

Let's face it, jobs are dwindling.  Automation, increased efficiency of production methods and the digital age mean that human effort has become more and more optional.  The vast majority of employment that remains simply can not sustain a basic existence, much less allow a budding family to prosper.  Soon, there simply won't be enough employment to go around, and short of recycling poor people into new tires for the rich, society is going to have to come up with a better plan.

Well, the good news is we already have that better plan, but it's 'very scary' for the world powers.  Basic Income.  The idea is that governments would gift everyone, universally, a uniform amount on a monthly basis to use for whatever they want.  Poverty would be eradicated over night.  Every month would feel like Christmas (if that's your thing).  Shopping sprees would replace the dreaded monthly ritual of trying to juggle their finances without actually having enough money to pay the bills life imposes.  Where does this 'free money' come from?  Higher sales taxes, probably.  But again, this concept is absolutely terrifying for the established world order.  They're used to staying rich off the efforts of the poor.  No poor people means they either need to start paying reasonable wages or doing their own work.  So... Basic Income, as wonderful as it sounds to me, is no where near a reality.

"What does this have to do with Datum?", you're probably asking yourself.  Well, when it comes to something as huge as a massive restructuring of the world economy, someone needs to be first mover, the tip of the spear, the dragon's tooth.

Datum literally pays you, via data buyers on it's marketplace, for things you're already doing anyways.  No additional effort from you is required.  Do you use Facebook?  With Datum, you'll get paid to use Facebook.  Do you use Twitter?  Paid to use Twitter.  Do you... drink beverages?  Yes, Datum will literally pay you to drink beverages, whichever ones you already prefer, at whatever rate you already do that at, from whatever beverage vendors you already choose.  I realize this sounds magical, and a bit too good to be true.  But here's how it works: Someone out there wants to know what you 'like' on Facebook.  They want to know what you're tweeting about.   They want to know what kind of beverage is in your cup.  They really don't care who you are, just what your habits and patterns are, because that's how they make decisions.  They want to know these things very badly, and they already pay big money to companies like Google and Facebook for that data.  Money those big companies do not share with you, because up until now, no one ever forced them to.

Datum will change all that, by empowering you to directly sell your data at rates you specify to whoever you want.  And in this way, Basic Income starts to become a reality, and somehow, it did it without one speck of legislation being passed, no new taxes, it completely circumvented the spectrum of obstacles carefully placed by the rich and powerful to prevent this from happening.  They don't have a choice in the matter, this is happening whether they like it or not.

Will Datum pay you enough to pay your monthly bills?  No, not a chance.  Maybe some of them but the idea that you can just switch over to this income stream and quit your job:  not happening.  But that's fine, it's still free money and it's the start of something bigger.  Once the rest of the world see's that this is possible, that they can't stop us, it will snowball.

I am unaware of any other blockchain projects with such vast potential to change the world for the better.

So, how can Datum help you financially?  Three ways.  One, as outlined above, requires nothing from you but patience.  By summer of next year, rollout of the first transactions on the Datum network will begin.  You can sign up and participate at no expense.  You do not need to buy any Datum now to do it, in fact you'll be paid in Datum so you really don't need to buy any, ever.  Everyone should do this, it's free money.

The second is basically to 'mine' Datum, by operating a storage node on your home or business internet.  Any modest computer will do, and it won't use up much of your bandwidth.  This will also generate Datum tokens (DAT) for you, which you can then go sell on the open market.

The third, and perhaps most profitable path, is to buy up DAT tokens during the Datum ICO token sale (which is going on right now), and then hold onto them.  In order for buyers of data to actually pay creators of data, they'll need to buy your DAT in the marketplace.  Once the current supply of 3 Billion DAT is circulated (1.5 Billion of which are for sale), there will never be any more.  So at a rate of roughly 1 ETH to 25,000 DAT, you can buy this new commodity and hoard it.

If you get in on the ICO, you get DAT for 1.2 cents per, or less (there's early adopter bonuses in effect, described more on their website).  However, when it comes time to actually start using, earning, buying and selling DAT, it's entirely realistic to expect it will trade at or above $0.25 per - 20x growth!  Spend 1 ETH now, wait a year, sell it for $6000.  And the rate will just keep going up over time as more users sign up and more data buyers realize this is the most affordable way for them to get the data they need. 3 billion may sound like a lot but spread out between the 3 billion internet users in the world today, that's only... 1 per user.  If a persons usage data is worth $1 USD per person per month (and it is, it sells for a lot more than that already, except you don't get any of that), then each DAT could be worth $1 per.  So really, $0.25 per DAT is a bit of a pessimistic estimate.  Long term, the sky is the limit with this.

If you're like me, the first thing you may have concerns about here are privacy and security.  Don't worry: the Datum team has really thought this through and their website outlines all the specifics.  Basically, before your data is put on the marketplace, anything that identifies who you are is removed from it.  The buyers may, if you choose, get to know a little bit about you in broad terms, what zipcode you live in, your approximate age, etc, but (unless you deliberately choose to share this information), they do not get to know your name or anything specific about you.  Once uploaded to the cloud, your data is very securely encrypted, and only you control the keys to that data.

So that's it, Datum means free money for you, several different ways.  If you're able and willing to invest in the project now, it could mean *a lot* of money for you.

Obviously I've read up on this a lot, and I'm happy to answer any questions as best as I'm able, but also their website has a really handy little chat window that connects you directly to their support staff who are very helpful.
9  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: stealing the block on: November 01, 2017, 02:02:37 PM
If they were to do that, they would lose their entire pool of miners instantly.  Long run they're better off with a large and active mining pool than a one time block reward.  Also their reputation would instantly be trashed with the bitcoin community, life in general would become very difficult for them in bitcoin world.

I'd suggest you have a look at http://www.datum.org - Looks like a strong project to me, I'm excited to try out some of the features in the whitepaper.  The advisors board is seriously WOW.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best ICOs by sector on: November 01, 2017, 01:45:00 PM
I actually don't track ICO's super close but I think Datum looks very good (http://www.datum.org).  Since they're a marketplace for users to sell their data (facebook likes, tweets, fitbit data etc), I guess i'd put them in the finance sector.
12  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Kano deletes posts he doesn't like. on: November 01, 2017, 01:05:45 PM
Man, don't even get me started on Kano.  The rudeness isn't an issue for me, I'm rude too.  The deleting posts is regrettable but whatever, it's a self moderated thread, everyone should know it's an echo chamber the moment they see that.

The issue for me is Kano eating up peoples 'dust' from mining ramp up time and pretending it's a negligible amount.  It's not.  And even if it was, it's still other peoples money and he should pay it out to them.  But if you ask him about it, even very politely, like you said, it's like a 12 y/o jumped on the keyboard and had a hissy fit as a response.  "I'll pay that dust out when hell freezes over!" - Seriously, that's a quote, can't be bothered to dig up the link but that's basically exactly what he said.  Three years now he's been stacking up peoples 'dust' and it's well over $75k USD by now.

I think the non-payment of 'dust' and other people who have gotten burned with Kano's pool in other ways (didn't setup their account right, didn't notice until it was already several hundred (or thousand?) USD worth mined, never made whole by Kano, who just kept it and laughed at them about it) are all the reason anyone needs to avoid his crappy pool like the plague.

I would recommend ckPool instead.  Everyone's super nice, there are no fees, no pool wallets, only downsides are it's still very small in size and one time there was a snafu with the first mined block and that unfortunately resulted in no one getting paid for it.  Oh well, that's how beta's go.  I can personally confirm that payments are made now, instantly the moment block is mined, even for amounts that would be 'dust' in Kano's pool.

Good luck and happy mining!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitfinex banning US citizens on Nov 9. Another dip coming up? on: October 16, 2017, 08:57:30 PM
Just a note to people on this thread saying, basically, 'how will they ever know who is where?'... they know, and not from IP lookups.  KYC ("Know Your Client") laws require a verified, valid ID (front / back of drivers license or gov ID, or a passport photo), which then gets uploaded to a provider like Jumio or Onfido, who's job is to confirm the identity shown is linked up to the name provided.  So that confirms identity, pretty well.  Then the next step is for the user to provide a photo/scan of a document that proves residence.  A power bill, a lease agreement, etc.  There's dozens of document types that work for this and the same KYC provider will then review that document to confirm the user lives where they say they do.  This service isn't exactly cheap, usually each one of these checks costs $5-$10, regardless of the outcome.  If you already have the documents photographed and ready to upload, the whole process takes about 10 minutes.

I have lost access to my old blockchain.info wallet that uses the address "1EjTdmm8768CPvt8kXQRrZoby2ivXjyPpb": 0.14251929

Can you please change it -cK?

We can use this one 1AQxQPtcsX1GU9b4UrLhodHSyiAKT37dng
No sorry. I cannot confirm any such change and to force that sort of change would require a pool hack and restart. Anyone could lay claim to anyone's address doing what you asked. Without a signed message from the original address I cannot do that.

Some quoted text here in the forum is good? If yes, I think I can find something ......
No it's not sorry. As I said it's a massive change to pool code to fix just one address of yours and without a message signed with your private key there is no way to confirm you're the owner of that key even with old posts from the forum. it's no different to withdrawing money from an exchange with your address; they would never give you the money to a new address without you confirming you're the owner of the old address. This is no trivial thing you're asking.

Maybe a little Ionic / Angular / Firebase app would be an easy way to let users log in with secured access and adjust things like their wallet address?  Then payout could, ideally, access whatever address they currently have associated with their email.  Would require some massive changes to the back end I'm sure, seems like all user storage is done off wallets right now, it would have to turn into something more like 'firebase user auth ID' etc.  Which breaks anonymous usage so... not a perfect fix, but maybe the two could find a way to co-exist (like if the account has been signed up, the ID field is their auth ID... but if they have not signed up, the ID is their wallet address, etc).
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 12, 2017, 07:48:17 PM
Wow, two days before my order was scheduled to ship... Bitmain confirmed my payment, marked my order as valid, fedex says it'll be arriving day after tomorrow.

Bitmain really came through!  Amazing.  Now if the product works as described when I get it, I'm happy.

I was trying to figure out if it's worth going through the old posts wishing death and destruction upon Bitmain and editing them, but wow there's a lot and they're really buried in these 100+ pages.  So I'm going to leave them, figuring if someone cared enough to read those other posts, they'll find this one too and that will clarify.

Is it D3?

No, S9.   D3 is later from different source, for me.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: With this bit of a crash - which are some good buys? on: September 05, 2017, 10:39:44 AM
BAT, MCO, SYS

BAT is going to explode over the next six months.

MCO is going to explode any minute.

SYS is looking real strong way off into the sunset.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Basic Attention Token (BAT) will be a new top coin? on: September 05, 2017, 07:03:16 AM
I think this coin has HUGE potential.

Google made $19 billion selling ads in 2016 alone.  BAT market cap = $180 million.

If BAT can carve even a 10% chunk out of the ad market, it will go up 10x.

And it could carve a much larger chunk than that.  Which would you prefer, advertisers spy on you and pay Google for the privilege, who then shares exactly none of it with you the user... or a browser with optional ads that pay you directly?  While going to great length to make sure you remain completely anonymous throughout the process?  It has the same or better ad-blocking tech built in, but if you decide to turn it off, you get paid!  The browser is written by the guy that invented Javascript BTW, it's top notch.

It's currently a steal after the ICO fiasco, I just stocked up and recommend everyone else does as well.  And don't quick flip this, hold it for a year and watch it explode.

Man it's hard to say...  Until the news comes out, it's gonna bleed a while, and no one likes watching that happen.

Maybe buy half what you plan to, then watch it for more dips, and buy into those a little more.  And if you start to see a lot of activity, buy immediately and hang on!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [MCO] Time to buy on: September 05, 2017, 05:54:28 AM
any update regarding Monaco VISA approval ?

Nothing yet, it'll happen at some point in the next three weeks.  Kris @ Monaco has stated he's strongly opposed to anything like insider trading or leaking the info out, so I wouldn't expect to see much activity until the news drops and, depending on the news, drastic market shift one way or the other.  I think it's good news and it's not far off.
