It would actually be really cool if some of the larger MMOs allowed you to pay your subscriptions in bitcoin
Cooler still would be if a game like Entropia universe shifted their virtual currency to be tied to bitcoin rather than to the USD

I would stay away from this unless he makes the code public if you want that information though I'm sure people would be happy to provide it to you if you'd just ask for it.
Bitcoiners in general are rather tech savvy and I'm sure we could gather the information for you if you'd ask for it... unless of course your motives are rather uncouth in which case you don't really want that info anyway.

I've found some really good investments on www.litecoinglobal.com which is the litecoin side of btct.co and also run by burnside. LTC.MINER BUY-A-HASH These 2 mining bonds in particular I'm invested in and so far are returning very good dividends each week  If you're adverse to converting your coins to litecoin then I would recommend ASICMINER-PT or TAT.ASICMINER shares on btct.co the added liquidity of that exchange is a really strong positive and as many have already said ASICMINER is a solidly performing stock. |

Not being able to trade into fiat...I don't know about how popular that will get. Good luck though, I'll be watching.
Cryptsy seems to be doing it fairly successfully, personally since I only trade between alt coins I prefer it since you don't have to worry about the risk of fiat related red tape bringing down the exchange. |

Litecoin is a fork from bitcoin that uses scrypt. Since most of the new altcoins are trying to avoid exposure to the ASICs being built for bitcoin they are choosing to fork new scrypt based coins off from litecoin instead of from bitcoin.

Localbitcoins is probably the way to go. They have a good online trading community.
This is honestly your best and safest bet, that said the people that sell for paypal will usually charge a premium over other methods to cover fees and risks associated with using the paypal service. |

Would Friedcat consider approaching some of the smaller mining pools directly with the franchising deals?
For instance offering machines in that fashion to the likes of ozcoin, deepbit etc. and other pools in the 1-5% of network size. I imagine these operations are in a good position to be able to bring that kind of hardware online and run it, since they are large enough to handle the hardware and small enough that they are able to scale up.

As best I understand it Litecoin global was Burnside's first exchange and BTC-tc is his second. BTC-tc is owned by Litecoin Global and as such significant shareholders in the Litecoin Global parent company get to vote on which stock/funds should be listed on the exchanges.

Has deepbit slowed down this week?
proportional payout would be great at >5 blocks per day but is problematic with <1
that leaves pps as the only reasonable option.
Has deepbit looked at dgm stats? That would remove the possible parasitic gain of running on deepbit proportional for the first 2 hours of a block and if nothing were found then poolhop to the highest pps anywhere which might be ozcoin.
IF deepbit has slowed down, that looks just like the effect of several big miners pool-hopping out of here when the block seemed too long, leaving the smaller miners stranded with a discouragingly long unfinished block. I'd rather there be some diversity of pools so that nobody has 51%. What does everyone else think?
I thought ozcoin disabled PPS and were running on only DGM now? I had a look not that long ago and deepbit seemed like the best bet for a PPS pool |

LTC is a waste of time long term as well as all alt currencies. If you do mine it, sell it or trade for BTC immediately.
I'd probably have to disagree with you there, once ASICs force most of the GPU miners to switch out litecoin is probably where they are going to go. I dare say that once that happens it's just a matter of time before you see the adoption rate increase. Out of all the altcoins, litecoin is probably the best of them. |

With more ASICs entering the network I can see this becoming much more common among GPU miners. I'm planning to switch mine over in the next 48 hours so I'll post back with some results and help when it's all done.

The TAT.ASICMINER shares are a good place to start and cheap enough for pretty much anyone to get into, the prices are fairly solid and the dividends are pretty good. A few days of gpu mining in a pool will net you a share which is enough to start getting some dividends.
Outside of that just use your general intuition, have a look at how trustworthy a share is, what the % return is. Make a decision and the risk yourself and then decide if you want to go into it or not.
