5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies. Mine PowerCoin - Look at the profitability! Over 1500%! on: May 23, 2013, 09:10:45 AM
The profitability is now at 49.42%. What do you expect after a difficulty jump from 0.08 to 1.62 (I've rounded those numbers).

7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC or LTC? on: May 22, 2013, 10:54:31 AM
Up to you.

The overall trend we've been seeing right now is that they're both going up. Although, just like other currencies are tied to the US dollar, litecoin is, at least somewhat, tied to Bitcoin. Though, with Litecoin being added to Mt.Gox (eventually) and ASICs shipping out driving bitcoin GPU miners to litecoin (eventually) litecoin is likely to go up in value against the bitcoin and is thus a good investment. Besides, bitcoin going up won't lower litecoin's value against it too badly, so you'd be likely to profit off litecoin if bitcoin went up too, although you'd profit from bitcoin rising more holding bitcoin directly incase people try to trade litecoin at the value that litecoin was in USD before the rise.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: price over the next month on: May 22, 2013, 10:48:01 AM
What are the most important influencing factors?

Would BTC drop if all russian moneys that where put into BTC during zyprus crisis would leave BTC and change back to hard money?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say... definitely. Tongue
The cause of the price rise, as far as we know, was the Cyprus crisis and people putting money in, and by extension people seeing that Cypriots putting their money into Bitcoin would drive the price up putting money in and driving the price up. Tongue

Anyway, my guess is it will still be sitting around $100-$150, although $150-200 is also very likely.

Love how cool NWO is about advertising PowerCoin! XD

Nonetheless, it is true that it has the highest profitability right now, so for a new miner it may be a good idea. Though, make sure you watch that profitability! I picture a difficulty jump now that so many miners have jumped on due to profitability.

Ah, shameless advertising!  Tongue

Nonetheless, as of now the profitability is sitting at %1623.73. Though, with by now EVERYBODY knowing about how high the profitability is I'm expecting a massive difficulty jump as miners try to make 16x the money they'd make mining bitcoin.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: On Dec 31, 2013, the price of 1 BTC will be: on: May 22, 2013, 10:35:58 AM
I said < $600. Bitcoin has peaked at $266, it can go higher with all the media attention. Now, I'm not saying it WILL (don't invest based on what I say) but it could easily go higher than $300. Nonetheless, there is also the possibility of a massive crash which, although it would be a much needed buy in opportunity, would make the media rave about how bitcoin can't be use as a currency because it's too unstable... again.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best alt-coin now? on: May 22, 2013, 10:31:58 AM
Well, obviously litecoin is the best altcoin. It is one of the most mined coins and has been stable price wise for weeks now, after the jump from 50 cents, and everyone simply regards it to be the silver to bitcoin as gold. It was also launched October 9, 2011, so that shows that it's hanging around.

Otherwise, it depends what you want. The most profitable to mine, as of now, is Powercoin. The most CPU friendly is still YaCoin (out of coins that aren't regarded to as 'dead'. The highest price out of all altcoins is BitBar and the second highest is Novacoin. You decide.

How do we know? Bitcoin is open source, anyone who wishes to can read through it and prove to themselves that bitcoin is clean, and many people have.

As I typed that Drakahn replied, but basically what he said. xD
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Next big crypto currency? on: April 27, 2013, 03:34:29 AM
I personally imagine that litecoin will be the next big cryptocurrency, atleast for GPU miners. As the ASICs ship out the difficulty will soar and miners using GPUs will move on, likely to the next biggest cryptocurrency, being litecoin. Although, people with FPGAs will be unable to mine litecoin due to the fact that it uses scrypt and as a result it is likely that, if they wish to continue mining, they will move their miners onto one of the other SHA-256 based cryptocurrencies, such as PPCoin and Terracoin.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who here regrets not ordering a BFL unit? on: April 27, 2013, 03:29:32 AM
if you don't have one these running in the next few months, to me there is no point of having one. The difficulty will be too high and the profi margin back to pre-acis levels.

This. The first people to receive ASICs are going to be the ones that truly make a large profit. People with the first batch of Avalon ASICs would be very happy with their purchase right now, as the difficulty is still low enough for them to make a good profit. As BFL starts to ship through all of their pre-orders, the difficulty will rise and it will be a lot like GPU/FPGA mining is now.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I doing it right? on: April 27, 2013, 03:24:41 AM
You're going fine!

Look at http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator and http://dustcoin.com/mining

At 570 mh/s you should get about 0.03 BTC (0.0319 to be exact) per day, so $4.40.
Now that you've got 605 mh/s, you should get about $4.68 per day, so 0.0339 BTC.

Please note that the dollar figures I have are based on the exchange rate at the time of writing, and that the amount mined will change as the difficulty fluctuates/goes higher. Also, remember that those calculators are estimates.
