Anybody still mining MAGA?
And any news about plans for exchanges?
Yes. Exchange, idk. I believe Tradesatoshi is actively working to integrate Magacoin into their platform. When it is up and running, I will update the main page. MAGA

My MAGA wallet just stopped syncing. Any help? i have 5 active connections however there is a message at the bottom left corner that says "no brick source available"
EDIT: my MAGA wallet is fully synced now
Hi schyter, sorry I missed this one. It appears that there was a sudden drop in hashing power at around that time which caused a long period of time with no bricks being mined. All clients and wallets should have received that warning message until a new brick was mined.

Yes, but even if it's a fun coin, it would be nice to have it listed on at least one of the exchanges. I really do like the community-fun-supported coins.
Real value is created from network effects. I predict that at some point, an exchange will pick up Magacoin out of incentive. Thank you mktorn! You're very quick. The new wallet does not have any major code changes other than a few additional checkpoints added and all Gitian references fixed. But yes, I do recommend everyone to download and upgrade their wallets to the new builds as it will allow for a better usability experience. great job ,i will join this pool ,but i have a question ,is it safety for investor?
The Magacoin Core source code is completely open source and available on Github.

Hi everyone, I am happy to announce the release of Magacoin Core v0.13.3.1 build. This is the first Magacoin build via the Gitian build process, and this process will be used to produce all future builds. The builds feature the following: 1. Statically-linked binaries to avoid having to install dependencies. 2. Executable installers for Windows 32/64-bit. 3. Dmg installer for Mac OS. 4. Portable zip archives for Windows 32/64-bit. 5. Portable tar archive for Mac OS. 6. Portable tar archives for Linux 32/64-bit. 7. Portable tar archives for ARM Linux 32/64-bit. The new binaries can be found on the Github release page or on the main website: https://github.com/magacoin/magacoin/releases/tag/v0.13.3.1MAGA

how's the brickexplorer coming along?
I'm working on forking Bitpay's Bitcore/Insight.js. It's slowly coming along, heh. If there are any Node developers out there interested in helping out, please post here. MAGA

Hi, I have created a block brick explorer https://brickwall.info/I forked iquidus's explorer, and had to rename blocks to bricks to get it working. Hope you all like it. Edit: I also disabled the market data because I didn't see this listed anywhere. When is this going to get listed? Very cool! Thanks for this, it looks like you beat me to it. I'm adding a link to it in the OP. Looks like a troll coin. Besides, why is not the OP at least a Member or Full member rank. It has became a trend recently that newbies and Junior members are announcing their new coins/tokens and asking for money through ICO. Surprisingly, so many people participates in them as a result of FOMO.
This is meant to be a fun, community coin/project. This coin will not carry out an ICO nor participate in any crowdfunding. Please read through the comment history of this thread to learn more about my thoughts on ICOs, you will learn that they closely resemble your own. And any news about this coin? Seems the dev is silent about it and interest is disappearing? The coin is alive and kicking, and the wall is getting taller and wider! On a serious note, I'm currently working on revamping my build environment, so that I am able to quickly compile executables and binaries via automation during new releases. Please understand that this is a side project of mine. Thanks! MAGA

Looks good magatoshi! Now that my weak cpu is no longer viable for mining, what can I do to support the community and the coin?
Thanks! As far as supporting the community and the coin, anything you want to. I have no agenda, other than doing my own part which is continuing development of the coin. Thanks schyter! I have added a link to your post in the OP. MAGA

Any plans on a discord or slack?
I leave that entirely up to the community to drive and coordinate. Hi, Will there be any bounty campaigns, like twitter one's for example? Looking forward to see twitter campaigns There will be no bounty campaigns, I have expressed my thoughts on that in earlier posts of mine. This is entirely an open community project, everyone is free to contribute. MAGA

Nice website! I like, I like.
-----------
Woo boy.
Day 1 mining this I was getting 250 every 2 hours.
Now I'm on the pool because of the ramp up in diff, and I get 3 every 6 hours!
Nice! I'm happy the coin is being picked up, even though I get less.
This is healthy guys.
-------
Join the pool if you want some of these! Solo mine is impossible unless you have hundreds of computers.
Thanks for the support! The ramp up in difficulty was going to happen at some point. While I initially developed the concept of brickwall technology as a humorous aspect of Magacoin, I quickly realized that the resultant incompatibility with existing miners and pools would allow for a better distribution of coinbase rewards immediately after the launch. The idea was that early adopters like you could mine with ordinary CPUs after the launch, and, by the time somebody wrote brickwall-compatible pools or GPU/ASIC solo miners, there would be enough awareness of the project to prevent a single person or two with an ASIC from dominating the mining of MAGA (especially during the early, low-difficulty days). Judging from some of the earlier posts in this thread, it was certainly effective. The reason I decided on scrypt is its status as a well-tested algorithm in the cryptocurrency field. Perhaps a different algorithm could have afforded more time, but GPU farms and ultimately ASICs would have entered the game eventually. I didn't want to jeopardize this coin with a newer algorithm that hasn't been tested thoroughly, and ASIC resistance was never a long-term goal. A good quote from Andrew Poelstra's ASICs and Decentralization FAQ: "ASIC resistance typically involves increasing algorithmic complexity to discourage ASIC developers. However, ASIC's are still inevitable; all ASIC resistance does is increase the startup capital required and therefore increase centralization of manufacturing." https://download.wpsoftware.net/bitcoin/asic-faq.pdfMAGA

So, whats the road-map for magacoin? Any plans to expand to exchanges?
My plans at the moment are strictly to continue work on the Magacoin client and surrounding infrastructure, such as the web site which will be ready in a few days. If any one has ideas for Magacoin, please send them my way. I want this to be a community project and welcome input from all. As for getting listed on exchanges, I feel that is ultimately up to the MAGA community and the exchange operators. I want this to be listed not because I convinced an exchange operator, but rather because the value of Magacoin provided a natural incentive to the exchanges. I don't know what my address is... how can i find it pls?
Open the Magacoin wallet, click on the 'Receive' tab, and then press the 'Request payment' button. A window should pop up with an address that you can use to receive MAGA. - get a logo
- ask the pool owners to give you 1% fee from pool
- update the OP as time goes on; you shouldnt necessarily post it as reply
- get twitter, telegram, slack group and other social
- Get an address, both BTC and MAGA that investors can donate to to support you
Thank you for the suggestions and feedback! I've already made a logo for Magacoin, but I'm not allowed to embed images on here yet. I've added it as a link on the OP for now. As for donations, perhaps in the future... This project is still in its infancy and I don't feel as though I have done enough to ask for anything in return. Besides, the fun I get from working on Magacoin is enough to keep me going. New pool available at https://onepool.online/ with 1% pool fee Just use "-o stratum+tcp://pool.onepool.online:5000 -u <wallet> -p x" on the command line for your miners It was bound to happen sooner or later, congrats on being the first pool operator! I did notice one small bug though... the web UI says blocks instead of bricks, very misleading! I updated the OP with a link to your post so people can find your pool. MAGA

Win-64 Release of the miner crashes upon opening for myself.
Are there any logs? Please report them to Github. rpcallowip=0.0.0.0/0
that will allow all IPs
Please do not use 0.0.0.0/0 as that allows everyone on the global internet (assuming you are NAT/port forwarding) to execute RPC calls against your client which is a very big security risk. Instead, I'd recommend that you hardcode all other IPs individually; if not on your private network, use their public IP, ie. rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcallowip=8.8.8.8 rpcallowip=192.168.1.0/24 MAGA

That doesn't look good, it seems like they may be trying to scam users out of BTC by impersonating this project. I don't know. I'd recommend everyone to stay clear of that. MAGA

pool pls
Building and/or operating a mining pool is not in my immediate goals. If anyone else wants to take on this, they are most welcome. Seems to be working.
Thanks for testing, I really appreciate it! when plan listing to exchanger
We are building out the network right now.

I'd also like to provide some updates.
I've been really hard at work on the initial website and brick explorer. Everything is coming along very very nicely and I hope to reveal them shortly.

Happy to announce that a compiled version of magaminer for Windows 64-bit is now available at the following link: https://github.com/magacoin/magaminer/releasesPlease note that I do not have immediate access to a Windows machine and will need someone to help test/evaluate the build. Thanks! MAGA
