1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining vBASIC || Community Edition 2.0 on: March 21, 2018, 12:53:00 PM
Can you build in support for ethcontrol from ethmonitoring.com?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Rig Reset Tool - RIGCOVER on: February 12, 2018, 04:33:27 AM
I don't mean to rain on your idea but there are already a couple other options out there cheaper.

Smos has a rig resetter less than $200 and supports 8 gpu
Ethmonitoring.com has one for $120,  supports 8 gpu and interfaces directly into the ethmonitoring.com ecosystem. Has auto reboot.

Your device might be OK for people who only have a couple of rigs though!

EthControl 0.0.17 Released:

- Added crash reporting (logs, console & screenshot) for debugging
- Added SGMiner support

Sweet. Loving the crash reports!

Nvidia Inspector cli with parameter -setFanSpeed:0,80 ( 1st value is the number of the card 0,1,2,3... , second value is the fixed fan speed in percentage ) , you can use also -setTempTarget:0,0,70 , -setPowerTarget:0,70 if its working for your purpose.

example : nvidiaInspector.exe -setFanSpeed:0,80 -setFanSpeed:1,80 -setFanSpeed:2,80

This do the same as set fixed fan speed in MSI Afterburner , as for fan curve there is no such functionality for now.

The problem with setTempTarget is that instead of increasing the fan speed as much as possible it will start throttling the GPU. Why the hell Nvidia thinks this is what people would want I have no idea..

And yes, I'm aware how to set a static fan speed.

Well done, Wink thanks !!

I'm sure you already know this but since email notifications are now available you can get them sent as a text message to your cell phone using small gateway.

i dont know if you can set a custom fan curve
with any other software except msi ab
but nvidia inspector works good for 8+ nvidia gpus
but it can only set the fan speeds to a particular percentage

Yeah, That's what I'm using for OC.   Cheesy

When I change to any coin, e.g. BTCZ and save then I go back to main page it has reset and gone to ZEC? This happens with all the coin I have tried?

I'm looking for a way to set a custom fan curve or set a target temperature that will ramp up the fan speed instead of throttling the GPU.

Have you looked into MSI Afterburner? It does a good job with the stock fans on most graphics cards (yes, even those by brands other than MSI).

Sorry, I had a stroke typing my subject. I meant to say 'without afterburner'....

Can we get power consumption per card added to the api??

EthControl working with 13gpu in Windows. Loving this software!

Now just need afterburner to support 13gpu...

Is there any issue with using this for Zencash? Whenever I try and mine the pools close the connection several minutes after starting and the miner has to restart. I have this issue on Linux and Windows and have tried two different pools; zenmine.pro and luckpool..

Anyone else has seen this issue?

Got an output that said  'msg buffer full'. What does this mean? Is it an issue? I also notice the pool hashrate for this rig dropped drastically like some cards were not submitting shares.?
This might happen if one of your GPUs crashes/gets unresponsive and stops consuming messages - so check your overclocking.

So this error would be a good one to trigger a rig reboot?

This is a very bad idea, you can easily end up in a boot loop, which might damage your hardware.

Gotcha. What I found interesting is that the api was still reporting normal hashrate for all the cards.. Is there a debug option I can set that will create a debug file?

Can I disable the miner from starting at boot but keep the OC settings to apply at boot?
What would be the point in that?  Roll Eyes

Want to use EthControl (from ethmonitoring.com) to manage the miner..

I also recommend ethmonitoring.com. Developer is very active and they have a discord channel to chat with other users if you have an issue.
