folks,
it seems that Nvidia GPUs are available everywhere. 3070, 3080, and 3090.
my local micro center has a bunch in stock.
I'm about to buy a few, but hesitant to add more rigs. anyone know why so many video cards are available?

does anyone know why rtx 2060 hashrates on hiveos are lower than with windows 10?
running Pheonix 5.5c on win10, I have o/c memory to +1200, core -100, and I get about 33 MH/s
on hiveos, it drops to 31 MH/s
i thought that it would've been better.

This is for the mini. I have 2 more mini's that I have yet to install.
I was very surprised. My evga 1070 ftw and Asus strip 1080 cannot even get past 31mh/s. I still think the zotac is using more than 70% tdp.

Let me just say that I am pleasantly surprised with this card. I have it set to 70% tdp using afterburner and +500 memory.
My ETH has rate is 33MH/s using ethminer. I suspect it's not truly at 70% tdp but I didn't attach a watt meter to it yet. Amazing little card. Temps are around 60c with fans at 40%

so, if you download EWBF's miner from the megaupload or google drive links, windows defender will throw up virus found and delete it. if you download ewbf's miner from nanopool's GitHub repository, then there's no virus flag. be careful when you say all miner's have viruses and don't ignore it. when I try downloading it windows defender blocks and deletes it, classifying it as "Trojan: Win32/Skeeyah.A! Bit" seems to be a much more specific a Trojan alert than minergate threw up, is this file safe?
It's safe. Most of miner are detected as a virus/ trojan. And we use EWBF's for long time, it's fine man

it's absolutely crazy. I was only able to mine a few ETH with my rig. Once I mine a full ETH, I'm going to close ethminer and figure out which coin to mine.
any thoughts? nicehash?

I have the same issue over here is the USA. All of the 6gb 1060 are coming with micron memory, cannot find one with samsung

well I am splitting my vga cables. I figured that they can power 150w cards for the 8pin connector, so I used a splitter and with a undervolted 1070 or 1060, it seems to be working fine. cables aren't even warm to touch. It took me a while to get all 6 gpu's recognized but I managed after many attempts! Now I'm tempted to try a 7th and 8th GPU using m.2 PCIE adapters like some of you guys, but how are you powering a 7th and 8th GPU? I'm using a EVGA 1200W power supply and it only has 6 VGA connectors/cables and I assume it's not a good idea to use a Y-splitter cable for the extra two GPU's. My 6-rig GPU is using about 735W as I'm limiting the power to 60% on MSI Afterburner.
Are you guys using a SATA-PCIE cable of some sort? Is that safe?

your m2 to pcie adapters do not need a separate power supply. just leave it unconnected.
I have 8 gpus working just fine on my z270-p
|

|
PEG Port config. I changed it to gen1 p.s. I now have 8 gpus and onboard graphics running at same time. I am very surprised that no one has gotten 9gpu's to run on widows. I might try with the z270-a that I have coming. @ssdaytona: which GEN1 config worked for you? DMI MAX LINK SPEED? PEG PORT CONFIGURATION? PCH CONFIGUTATION?

I have to say, the 0810 BIOS is best. I just recently added a seventh card to my z270-p that had a 0610 BIOS and it was crashing every 5-10minutes, updated to 0810 and made the necessary gen1 change. viola, works great.
can we have 8 gpus and the onboard graphics at the same time?

I've got 7x 1070's running in my rig also. I'm using the blue version 006c 6pin risers. I set mine to "gen1" pcie. does gen1, gen2, or gen3 work better? I currently have 7 gtx 1070 running and am just waiting on the 8th card to arrive. Thanks to those who posted on this thread as I read all of it before getting my rig to run last weekend! It's currently using two evga cards, two msi cards, two zotac cards and one asus card (with another asus card coming). It just sort of worked out in pairs as I purchase four cards used and four cards new from Amazon. 915 Watts. Less than I expected. Just need to make sure everything is stable before doing some cable managing.

^ Hynix memory sucks for mining

|
|
anyone try out the new 9GBs memory 1060's yet?
|
|
|
I just thought about this. Power consumption is negligible when the difference is less than 50watts. They key to mine as quickly as possible as things will only get tougher and ROI will take longer.
I have a mixed set of 1070 and 1060's. I'm considering swapping out the 1060's for 580's.

|
Are these as good or better than the normal 8GBs 1060's?
Curious as they are about the same price as the regular 1060's.

guys,
still trying to sort out these server PSU's. I see on eBay that there are a bunch of used, "server pulls," aka seller refurbished. There are some that are listed as DPS-1200fb-1, I suspect that's the one that we want? What about the DPS-1200SB-A?
thank

27 MH/s from a 1060 3gb?
I just ordered 6x 1070 for ~$400/each and 4x 1060 6Gb for $260 each.
Should I just return the 1070's? I have one running now and it's pulling about 31 MH/s
If I were to keep the 1070's which are better EVGA black edition vs FTW gaming. I wonder if any of them come with Samsung memory any more.
