1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [PRE-ANN] BACS COIN - Decentralise Card Payments - Team Building Partnership on: April 11, 2021, 09:53:31 AM
As the name of the coin suggests, we're looking at the feasibility of a coin, built on the Binance chain, which will decentralise card payments.

If you're a merchant then you'll know the fees you pay to companies like World Pay for their card payment solutions.  These companies make a ton of money charging merchant fees for card transactions.

Lately I've noticed a few merchants who have stopped taking card payments to avoid their fees. Instead, they ask for BACS payments.  Understandably, it's free to accept BACS payments but it's quite cumbersome trying to add new recipients and verify.

So, there's a gap in the market for a tech that let's merchants take BACS payments with the scan of a QR code.

So, the token we wish to develop allows the blockchain to record each transaction. The merchant has an app that's integrated into the blockchain and let's them enter USD or GBP amounts. Payment is processed in BACS COIN and instantly converted to a stable coin in merchant wallet.

This is a pre announcement. We're looking to build a team of equal share partners to develop and market this token tech.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Peaks and Troughs on: July 08, 2017, 08:01:53 AM
Has anyone noticed that the price of BTC and ETH (which seem to be correlated) always goes down on a Friday, down more on a Saturday, then down to a low point on a Sunday before steadily climbing Monday to a high on a Thursday?

I have a theory that people need BTC on weekdays to get their drugs on Silk Road onion site so demand is higher through the week as they procure their powder for the weekend activities.  Everyone is sorted at the weekend and you can't get anything in the post on weekends so demand for coin goes down.  Until Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This is a definite pattern and I've seen it happen for weeks now.  Every week it's the same and it's already dropped really low today (Friday).

If this pattern is true then there are short term strategy gains to be made by purchasing loads on a Sunday afternoon and offloading them on a Wednesday night or Thursday morning.  This is particularly noticeable with ETH with low/high ratio as much as 65%

Is this a joke, "drugs on the silk road". I am pretty sure that the Silk Road has already closed down. Your theory is also flawed, since their are dates where it doesn't follow the pattern. The easy explanation for this is, the weekends are usually used to relax and not do business, just like you don't work on weekends, the market sort of slows down in those days. People don't usually spend ETH that much, so ETH can't really be used to strengthen your case here.

I also noticed this pattern, but it is quite easy to explain. At the weekend people relax and any business activity is reduced. Bitcoin price fully depends on the demand so the price falls in the weekend.

Don't recommend doing this, especially since might not happen some weeks.

Actually Silk Road is alive and well.  It was shut down but it just came straight back it it still takes BTC.  It was the original driving force for BTC and it still plays a part in it's demand.  So no, it's not a joke and I intend to prove it this week when I cash in on this pattern.

People may not use ETH for anything like Silk Road but the fact is that when BTC drops, ETH drops right along with it (ETH takes a harder hit that BTC in terms of percentage drop).

It's happening again, ETH is dropping really quickly at $239 just  now (Saturday morning).  By tomorrow morning it'll be at an all week low and it'll rise sharply from Monday through Thursday.  Watch and see.  I'm gonna buy $17,000 worth of ETH if it hits as low $219 and sell it again when it does $320 mid-week.  That'll be almost $8k profit. Let's see if it happens.

Good point, there's definitely that too.  Have you ever tried to capitalise on this?

I've seen a few articles about this Korean ICO and I'm just looking to open a discussion about them.  They interest me because they're aimed at the VR world and job creation with coins for mining, coins for gaming and coins for working.  Take a look at their site, here::

https://neverdie.com/

It's built on the Ethereum platform.  Is anyone buying into this coin?  What are your thoughts?

Does anyone think the Tezos price will go higher than the EOS price?

Does anyone thing the Tezos price will get close to the LTC price?

Does anyone thing the Tezos price will get close to the ETH price?

Think

Whoops, guess I wasn't thinking there.

Such pessimism throughout this thread.  I think you're all wrong.  Tezos have raked in an impressive investment amount and they have some very shrewd backers in their organisation. You are completely and utterly underestimating these guys.

Hats off to them for the eye watering success with this ICO so far and good luck to them with the launch.  You have to give them credit for what they've achieved and I personally expect BIG things from this coin.  When it hits the exchange I believe that the marketing team behind Tezos will have managed to generate enough hype to stir up a lot of interest from people who have never even heard of crypto currencies, let alone Tezzies.

Crypto is all very much in it's infancy as less than 10% of the population even know what it is.  If long term forecasts for BTC and ETH are to be believed then we are really just at the beginning of this new phase of the war on currency.  Mainstream popularity will drive the value of all crypto up and opportunities like this cannot be missed.  Invest in EOS, ETH, TEZOS and BTC then sit back and watch your investment grow over the next 5 years.

What did you get today for 1 ETH? I don't understand how you can check what the amount of EOS you get for what you put in.

Just create a Kraken account.  They announced yesterday that ECO's can now be traded on their platform.  So, if you have ETH or BTC you'll be able to see the exchange rates and swap some of your holdings for ECO.

I was watching ECO quite closely after Kraken adopted it and it went from $1.66 last night to $7.90 in the early hours of this morning.  If I'd put $10K on it last night and pulled it this morning I'd have made a nice hit on it.  I didn't I just put 2 ETH on it but still got a good return.

Later this morning when it dropped back down to $4 (ish) I decided to invest 10% of all my ETH.  I've read on many forums that ECO could be quite big and there are some pretty shrewd crypto investors recommending that we put at least 10% of our ETH into it.  Now's the time to do it while it's at $4.65.  Don't let this be another one of those cryptos that you wish you'd put some money into to.  Get in there just now before it hits the $25 mark in a few month.  Slip some ETH in there and just sit it out for a year.

A lot of pessimism around this new coin but I thought it was definitely worth a punt so I've invested 1 BTC.  With the 1k bonus tezzies it works out I have 6,000 of them and they cost me £0.32 each.  So, let's look at some fun calcs:

IF THEY REACH £2.00::
Then I'll have a total of 6,000 x £2.00 = £12,000 (not bad)

IF THEY REACH £25.00::
Then I'll have a total of 6,000 x £25.00 = £150,000 (awesome - and not really that unbelievable when you look at other cryptos and the prices they've achieved in infancy)

IF THEY REACH £166.67::
Then I'll have a total of 6,000 x £166.67 = £1m (again not that unbelievable when you look at the ETH which is higher than this)

IF THEY REACH £217.99::
Then I'll have a total of 6,000 x £217.99 = £1.3m (that's based on the current ETH rate - could happen!)

IF THEY REACH £1,925.95::
Then I'll have a total of 6,000 x £217.99 = £11,555,700 (that's based on the current BTC rate - you never know with crypto!)

So is it worth a punt?  Of course it is!

Totally agree with you, from every aspect it's worth buying at least 6000 Tezos.

I think this is pretty in line with what everyone is hoping. That it at least gets close to the value of ETH. I remember the crowdsale of ETH, and you got 2000 ETH per BTC then. I had a decent amount posted into the send address and then I got sidetracked and gunshy.   It's hard to look at it in hindsight though because I still bought ETH at like $5-$6 on coinbase, but sold at like $25, which was huge profit (nowhere near where it would be now).

I think you have to be in this for the long haul

do u calculate the total supply you genius

No mate, I didn't calculate the total supply because (a) I don't have a crystal ball and; (b) even if I knew what the total supply was going to be I would have no way of knowing the perceived value of each unit.

You can't really compare ETH and Tezzies to Fiat currencies with inflation because they're much more than currency.  The token value needs consideration.

Anyway, without a crystal ball I'm just saying that it's definitely worth a punt.
