1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how many country recently accept btc? on: July 18, 2017, 12:07:17 PM
how many country of the world now accept btc?  Huh Huh
Well, the majority has legalized it. I think that's what is important, that people are free to use bitcoins whenever they please.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Banks fear cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2017, 11:44:28 AM
Yesterday the Central Bank of Albania issued a warning about the uncertain and unsafe nature  of cryptocurrencies
They called on people not to get involved. Should we be afraid or the banks are!
Maybe they do since cryptocurrencies completely wipe the idea of having a central authority involved. Cryptocurrencies run on their own and need no middle man whereas fiat currencies are issued by the government... So, if more and more people turn to cryptocurrencies, they could replace the banking system and implement blockchain technology systems.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is my method of storing cryptos safe? on: July 18, 2017, 10:58:21 AM
Hi,

This is my first post here. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask. If not, please feel free to move it.

I don't have a hardware wallet. I use Electrum and other similiar wallets on my desktop computer which never leaves my house. I make sure to always save the individual wallet files on a usb stick offline so there are no copies of the wallet files on the computer. The wallet files are also encrypted which I decrypt each time I need to access it. I don't use the usb stick for any other purpose other than storing and accessing cryptos and it stays offline when not in use.

1. Is this a pretty safe way of storing cryptos?

2. Does accessing wallet files via usb stick leave some sort of a trail or a temporary copy of the wallet files on the hard drive somehow that a hacker can later access? I don't move the files to the hard drive, I just open the files directly from the usb drive.

3. I have a paid antivirus software and a firewall on my computer. I checked for every way I know but did not find any indication of malware or hacking so hopefully, my computer is currently safe. However, if it were hacked unknown to me, the only way the hacker could steal my coins would be to catch me at the exact moment that I access my coins from the usb and watch my keystrokes for decryption passwords of my wallet files and also make a copy of my wallet files during the short duration of time that I'm accessing my wallet before unplugging the usb. Is this correct? Can a hacker possibly do all this such as copying a file from my usb drive while it's plugged in and send it to his personal machine? If so, would this be about the only case where a hardware wallet is safer than my method? My understanding is that the decryption part happens on the airgapped hardware device itself so even if the computer is hacked, the hacker would not have access to the wallet file nor the decryption password. Is this correct?

Thanks.

I'd say that this is alright for everyday transactions, however your private keys will be susceptible to viruses at some point or the other becayse no antivirus can save them.
I would suggest you go for cold storage or try a paper wallet since storing your private keys offline is the safest way, as long as you keep a backup and store your wallet in a safe and secure environment.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: July 14, 2017, 11:25:06 AM
I have think of it and i have save up bitcoin just a the small amount because i have plans for it to have fun like travelling didn't even save it for future purpose. so i wanted to know what are you going to do with your bitcoin if you save bitcoin. Why do you save bitcoin for? and why? what is the purpose why you save up bitcoin to your wallet and not to spend it.
It's both for me tbh because I won't be spending my bitcoins in a bulk amount. Just a few transactions here and there but, I think they're a good backup for future crisis as well.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin the most popular cryptocurrency? on: July 14, 2017, 11:07:39 AM
I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
Well for starters, Bitcoin's been around the longest so obviously, it's gained a lot of attention. The value of Bitcoin has massively and rapidly increased due to which it's always the talk of every town.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending bitcoin without the miner fees ! on: July 13, 2017, 12:54:47 PM
So i was thinking if i send a bitcoin transaction without the miner fee or a very low fee what will happen ? would i get the coins back eventually ? or they will just stuck there forever ! and if that happened how to do that double spend ?

Um, do it at your own risk because your transaction might get stuck for a very long time.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can ruin a Country? on: July 13, 2017, 12:35:22 PM
Well, i just thought, if bitcoin become a currency of one Country, maybe it can destroy that country? Think of it, Bitcoins do not have a tax, and tax are used by the government to make that country a good one, without tax, what will be used to spend and make that country a good one?

What do you think?
Bitcoin cannot ruin a country. For what it's worth, its actually helping a lot of countries gain a lotta fame. Like, have you looked at Japan? They're so far ahead from us and so greatly involved in the digital world. We need to focus more on the positives rather than the negatives.
We know that Bitcoin can't be under the control of any government, it is completely concealed from those rules and regulations and runs on its own.

9  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What does cryptocurrency money laundering means??? on: July 13, 2017, 12:21:10 PM
What does cryptocurrency money laundering means???  examples please... Thank you

Basically, if you're holding onto black money in the form of cryptocurrencies or converting that money into crypto coins, it comes in as money-laundering.
If you're going to do any illegal activities using cryptocurrencies, they are ultimately coming under Money-laundering.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: July 12, 2017, 12:02:13 PM

What do you like best about bitcoin?
Decentralization, transparency or easier to move?
Or just it makes you look cool? Wink
The fact that it's so concealed but not at the same time. Like I can make a transaction right about now and yall will never know it's me, but it still shows up on the blockchain.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community? on: July 12, 2017, 11:54:57 AM
According to the website https://coin.dance/stats males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community. Why is the Bitcoin community dominated by guys?
How can they confirm this when Bitcoin's supposed to be anonymous? I mean you can't trace back to who made the transaction right? So how can this even be accurate? I NEED STATS
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 12, 2017, 11:42:37 AM
Even the blind can see that crypto Currency is making people millionaires all  over the world just because they present the holders of such currency with the financial freedom and opportunity to accrue large amounts of wealth base on currency investment . But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? Please i will welcome your advice so that I can make my decision on crypto currency investment.

If you want to buy Bitcoin, just do it! Why do you even want to wait any longer? If you're planning on holding onto it for long term it shouldn't matter anyways if the price drops or not, because its doing great right now.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: July 12, 2017, 11:22:29 AM
What would you do when you're talking to someone but then he suddenly talks about his hatred on Bitcoin, what would you react to it?

I've never actually experienced anything like this before, I just want to be prepared when it happened to me.
Its actually really funny to me when people hate on Bitcoin, it shows their ignorance towards something new. If they don't like it ok cool, but why do they have to irritate everyone else with the hate?
I just ignore it when someone tries to argue with me on Bitcoin, I know I like it and it wouldn't be getting all this attention if people didn't wanna get their hands on it.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: July 10, 2017, 11:55:02 AM
I have heard that bitcoin is not supported in some countries. But why ? Is it because bitcoin is risky ? Some countries even declare 6 months jail if her people use bitcoin. Is it fair ? I mined few cryptos and have left mining. It was fun and challenging too. But I never got any clear answer. What does my gpu actually do ? I pay electric bill, my room temperature goes high and I get paid. With actually no skill on pc hardware and software. Whole thing is still pretty unclear to me
Each country has its own set of rules which we can't interfere or object in. Most of the countries are doubtful about cryptocurrencies since they're worried about money laundering and fraud issues.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment on: July 10, 2017, 11:07:40 AM
Hey Bitcoiners? I'm desperate to start earning BTC
I'll do any kind of online activity as long as there's a Bitcoin payment. Where do I start?
You can go for micro earning jobs, these include completing tasks on websites, watching ads, completing surveys etc. or even join signature campaigns and earn btcs for free.
However, keep in mind that all these methods require patience. You won't be getting rich overnight.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Energy provider in Austria accepts BTC as payment on: July 10, 2017, 11:01:14 AM
http://www.nachrichten.at/nachrichten/wirtschaft/wirtschaftsraumooe/Energie-AG-Ab-Montag-werden-Bitcoins-akzeptiert;art467,2617284

sorry but it is only available in german.

The energy provider EnergieAG in Austria (Central europe, south of germany and no kangaroos) started to accept BTC as payment.
Why I post this here and not in a german subforum? Because it is great news that a second big company (biggest food delivery service in Germany too) started to accept BTC in a few days. That is great news
That is pretty great actually. This just shows that the world is showing more acceptance towards digital currencies. This will cause an increase in demand for BTC in Germany.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: July 06, 2017, 12:30:27 PM
Bitcoin is definitely ahead of Gold. However, Gold is still a much stable entity, Bitcoin is highly volatile due to the sensitivity to its supply and demand.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Good Reason to Own Some BTC on: July 06, 2017, 12:21:00 PM
