the 5700 does/will have pcie 4.0 no? id be inclined to convert from 1080tis
It has. But what is it good for? I'm running a 1080ti on pcie 8x set to gen2 and framerates in games are the same. The 5700 does use way less power than a 1080ti so there's that.

Ah Metroid, Metroid, Metroid.... Your stats of 80%... could be right, could be wrong - you are just throwing out BS without support. And that makes YOU the troll.
It seems you are a lottery winner, my friend which had a farm with 300 gpu's had around 60 gpus to fail in the first 180 days and around 40 gpus more to fail in the next 180 days, around 100 gpus out of 300, 33% in a year. All new retail gpus, warranty was only 30 days. A pro miner, now imagine those new trolls mining and thinking they will get rich fast ehhe and few days after they need to send their gpu to warranty and most will hear, "sorry bro, warranty does not cover mining" hehe I really mean you are a lottery winner, you know that around 15% of gpus fail in the next 3 months after purchase, gaming on it. Now imagine mining 24/7, the card was never meant to do that, ask sapphire for the stats you will know if I'm right or not, reason they stopped honouring warranty if they find out it was used for mining. As far as I know around 60% of gpus returned to sapphire was used on mining and failed in the first 6 months in 2018. Maybe your friend is an idiot and drools over gpus without noticing, I could see that.

Unless bitcoin forks to a gpu algo (lol) or another ethereum hits, 2016-2017 levels of profitability are not coming back. There's also a ton of hardware now waiting on the sidelines to hash. Also eth will go POS (soon ).
|
|
|
Beam and grin just changed their algo and RVN is changing to fork the fpgas.
Yeah they did, profitability is the same though. How do you fork fpgas? They can probably tweak bitstreams in a few days or in advance since the algo details are known pre-fork.
|
|
|
The upcoming change to XMR's algo has got me excited, I don't expect any profits but it's doing things different and than anyone else at the moment.
Maybe other coins would follow, maybe it will fall flat.Any bets?

About changes. "Missing" and "not needed" different things. To list of changes can adding - removed hww, added gpu mining at ui, added cpu mining for start network, fixed compilation errors, fixed ui bugs, updated core and consensus rules, fixed connecting bugs, updated bp, increased block size, and etc. We do not following to the direction of development of beam, and talk about new or old version is wrong. In any case Grimm was born and only first release was published. We develop it You can like it or not. Grimm have own directions. Grimm is community driven project.
And none of those changes sound useful so yeah, copy/paste shitcoin. Community driven project lol.

Anyone up to date what is going on with Ethereum?
Looking at Ethermine it looks like the ProgPOW audit should be released in Late August which is now. Also it looks like the ETH devs have finalized the next Ethereum fork (Istanbul) and looking at the EIP posted it doesnt look like there is any type of algo change in there.
Anyone know what is going on with ProgPOW? I remember watching a ETH dev conference and they said they are going to go with ProgPOW unless they encounter difficulties however since then we haven't heard much.
https://ethereum-magicians.org/t/progpow-audit-delay-issue/3309/143You have an ASIC manufacturer reasoning why eth shouldn't change algo. Meanwhile eth devs seem to have zero will or capacity to make a decision on this subject. I have lost interest in eth, I still mine it with a few undervolted AMD gpus but that's it.

Watching the wall for 20 minutes is better than this.

I pay tax on the profit (yearly) and when I take out salary from my company. The hardware is depricated in 3 year, and then there is power costs etc +++. Mining has been my profession for some years now.
I thought that selling copies of ccminer for 0.05-0.5 btc to suckers was your profession.

|
|
Where was this optimism in jan 2017 when eth was 6 $ and btc ~ 600-1k ?

No answer on the error?
"Insufficient memory 9171.7 MB available on device (#0). Unable to run the solver"
Yes, I'm using Windows 10, but with 11GB from the GPU and the used memory being less than 500MB before the miner starts, there shouldn't be a problem.
Same issue here.

They just decided they won't hf in next week or anyother week of 2018.
Last time on XMR gpus were almost kicked out by asics, now there won't be a 70% hashrate drop.

What's the point? AMD does 1kh/s with 100W, even better on Vega.

when your running at a negative income.. 0 fee is nice. when things go back up. i pay my respects.
ewbf's miner brings in cash without a doubt. he's not hurting ever. so for the poor who can't afford the 2% cause they only negative only gives me more respect and without a doubt people i know share the software also cause good business gets traction and it all pays in time and for him it never stops.
What logic is this? He has money so he doesn't need anymore? If you are mining on negative then don't mine, that's just plain stupid. Why not buy that coin with the money you spent on elec?
|
|
|
Yeah but if the miner is not 100% optimized there will be more space for private miners.
FFS pepople are you really that tight that you notice 2%? Or do you have 1k gpus?

Well, I certainly had some nice words for them Guess I'll have to eat them (or not). Very interested in this.
