* I recently read about BitBike and their peer-to-peer bike sharing model is quite impressive - sadly they do not have option for me to vote for my city.

Hi,

Bitbike is here Smiley

We just added Singapore, so now you can vote Smiley On the site you can add any city (but it's not very clear, we will change it).

We will launch our project in the spring of 2018 in the 5 most popular cities in the world by voting results on bitbike.me. Vote for your city, invite your friends to vote and maybe Singapore will be one of the first.

Awesome project !!

Unfortunately I live in.a small city so I propably won't be able to rent out my bike, but use it on holidays.
Nevertheless I think I can vote for my country  Cheesy

Hi, we are very glad that you liked the Bitbike. We make our project also for travelers, so you can use it anywhere in the world.

Very interesting idea. Would be cool if it could work instantly and they had it all major cities.

Hi, thanks for your interest in Bitbike. We will try to start as soon as possible.

Living in a small country, we will probably come among the last on you list, but anyway, I support the project. Also voted for Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Hi, thanks for your vote! Ljubljana is a beautiful city, and we added it to the vote on our website.  Wink

Do you plan KYC procedure or deposits for rentals? How do you plan to protect bike owners against theft?

Hi, thanks for your question! Our system will be based on deposits. The answer to the question about the theft of bicycles you can find above.

Nice project and i like the concept.  Smiley What will the pricing model be like?

Voted for my city and i hope to see Bitbike here soon.

Hello! Thank you for your vote, we are glad that you liked Bitbike. The cost of bicycle rent will be determined by the owners of bicycles.

Hello,
Sounds interesting project, I personally live in France near Paris and use my bike often. We already have Velib' in Paris (public service for city bike rent), but that could be a useful service to rent other types of bikes. Like others, I'm waiting to have explanations about anti-theft system.
(And in case you need french translation for you site, if Paris is one of the selected cities, don't hesitate to ask me)

Hello! Thank you for your interest in our project! The opinion of users is very important to us! The answer to the question about the theft of bicycles you can find above. And thanks for suggesting the translation of our site into French, maybe we will use it.  Wink

Is this something like yandex.taxi in Russia or Uber in Europe? I'm currently in there. Do you plan to make this bike rental in RF? I would love to put money in it

Hi, thanks for your question! We are glad that you liked the idea of our project. Bitbike will launch all over the world from the summer of 2018. And if one of Russian cities win the voting on our site, our project will launch in Russia in the spring of 2018.

Seems like a very innovative service but how do you plan on combating theft of the bikes ?

Like others, I'm waiting to have explanations about anti-theft system.

How do you plan to protect bike owners against theft?

Hello! Thank you for your questions. The theft of bicycles is very relevant and we get a lot of questions about this. We think about our users and want to protect their property as much as possible.

Our service will provide a system for protecting bicycle owners, such as:

- A deposit for a bicycle that will cover the cost of the bicycle. The deposit for the bicycle is set by its owner and this amount is frozen for the duration of the rental of the bicycle as a guarantee.

- User reviews and rating system, by means of which you can choose the one to whom you rent a bike.

Anyway, the system of full deposit for the bicycle is now in development and we are considering various options in which our users will be able to freeze only the part of need deposit.

any competitors in this space?

Hi, thanks for your question. Our main competitors are classic city bike rentals. We created our project to make bicycle rental more convenient and pleasant for users around the world.

Insurance system is sounds good idea, but it's need to pay the fees for insurance isn't? Also it's need to upload the identity?
How the system of renting works?

Hello, glad that you are interested in our project.

No, we will not require upload the identity for sure!

We are now working on the system. Most likely it will be a secure deposit system for a bicycle that is freezes the deposit during the lease, and then returns it to the bicycle rental.

How if the renting cost is less than bike price? I means if renter deposit is less than the bike price of the owner, then the possibility a renter to runs out the bike is big chance. Whether the insurance system will be used in this case?

Hi, thank you for your question! In addition to the cost of renting a bicycle, it will be necessary to have an amount on the account that will be frozen during the rental time. Soon we will publish an FAQ with a more detailed description of the service.

I know that my city do not have a chance as it is in SE Asia, plus they are lots of bike sharing available in my country, so I voted for France instead. Smiley

Subscribed, and hope to see updates soon! So it would be launched in 2018? Hopefully your service can become global and people can get to know more about Bitcoin and earn some themselves. Honestly speaking, I think this has a potential to become global, so I am really looking forward to this. Any updates or new information?

Hi, thanks for your feedback and vote. It is very important for us. Yes we plan to launch Bitbike in the spring of 2018 in the 5 most popular cities according to the voting results. And in the summer 2018 after testing and feedback from users we plan to launch the project around the world.

Not hard to assume you're from the Netherlands, aren't you ? Cheesy
The business would run perfectly there but I doubt you have same scope everywhere around the world.
People don't take things on rent which has a sufficient  value ,like bikes is a one time investment and it's nearly cheap so instead of renting it,they can easily buy a fordable travel bike.
If you're renting out super-bikes,the luxurious one's ,that's a lucrative business in my city!

Hello, no, you did not guess, we're not from Netherlands  Grin

We focus on two types of users:
1. They are travelers who come to a new city for a while, where they can find a cheap and reliable bike for trips.
2. These are local residents who could find in their city unusual bikes that they would like to rent for a short time, including "super-bikes, the luxurious one's". Vote for your city on the site Smiley

How do you make sure your bike that you rent is unharmed, and is there a GPS tracking device attached or do we have to do it ourselves?

We are now working on a deposit/insurance system to protect the owners of a bicycle, and not to make it difficult for the bicycle renters at the same time.

Also, what fees do you plan to charge?

We can not yet voice the monetization model, but we try to make it as easy as possible for users.

I hope to see this service soon, in any part of the world!
