6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Searching for Bandwidth Mining only coins on: December 15, 2020, 02:17:09 PM
POS & Masternode coins require investment for Collateral.

Idena, NKN and Theta Fuel - All these three coins don't require any investment. Just run the nodes & start earning with zero balance.

One more to add Qortal - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5258519.0

yes indeed. that's the reason why I like bandwidth coins because they don't require any investments. Unlike staking and masternode coins that you have to invest a huge sum of money.

Thank you for adding up one more. I will check Qortal.

If you have more bandwidth mining coins please feel free to add it here. thanks everyone!

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Searching for Bandwidth Mining only coins on: October 26, 2020, 04:53:23 PM
I've found 3 bandwidth only mining coins. I like this kind of coins to mine because I can run them with a VPS. And they are Idena, NKN and Theta Fuel. I am looking for more coins of this type. If you know more coins that can be mine using only bandwidth and not gpu or cpu mining, please share. Thank you so much!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This beach resort is accepting Ethereum!!! on: August 24, 2020, 02:04:55 AM
Wow! I want to go there when the pandemic ends! This is something new you know. It only shows that people are starting to acknowledge the legitimacy of cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment or exchange. I'm from the Philippines too that's why I will definitely visit it! I hope more and more shops or establishments adopt cryptos as their mode of payment! Mabuhay kayo!! Keep it up!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is FORSAGE a Ponzi scheme? on: August 24, 2020, 01:58:12 AM
Yes, basically Forsage is a Ponzi scheme! So beware. But it is a glorified Ponzi scheme. Because it is using the Smart contract. But the thing is, like what I'm saying with crypto friends. THis is a new playing field for the MLM companies. MLM companies that will not adopt Smart Contracts will be in the losing end. Why? Who wants to wait for his commissions for weeks if in Smart contract you can have it in a matter of minutes. It's I think a revolution in a way. Vitalik Buterin opened up a Pandora's Box of infinite possibilities. Once it is in the Blockchain, it will be there forever. It is etched on stone. It cannot be changed. So as long as people are buying Forsage you cannot stop it. Because basically it is a play on greed of people. It will just keep on growing and growing. It will never stop unless people stopped believing in it. Or just moved on to new things.

But this is what I can say with that. Definitely, it will usher in the new wave of masses towards crypto. Albeit it bad or good.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi Network is at 5 million users on: August 24, 2020, 01:30:45 AM
Yeah, I think they are doing is more on fair distribution because they are reaching more people that don't know cryptocurrencies before. Even Bitcoins. They are gamifying the system. The more people sharing the wealth the better than just few big whales just like with other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non DeFi projects starts going DeFi on: August 24, 2020, 01:14:02 AM
That is funny though. Because I think they are just riding the hype of DeFi. They are hoping that they can get a share of the trillion dollar worth of the Savings Market that is being transferred now from traditional money to digital assets such as Eth. And most of these projects are just empty shells, getting fast to be able to ride in the DeFi hype! Just look at what happened recently with Yam. That is absolutely disgusting.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON 4.0 vs ETH 2.0 on: August 24, 2020, 12:42:06 AM
So, I didn't know that there is such thing as TRON 4.0. Yes, I'm excited with ETH 2.0 but I still have to study the TRON 4.0. Do you guys have some resources for this? But I guess I have to find it out myself.

The only problem I have with TRON is it is DPOS, so it is not really that Decentralized. DPOS consensus mechanism is like a cartel. Only a few holding a most of the coins.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trust Wallet Token discussion. on: August 24, 2020, 12:26:12 AM
Actually, I have a problem with my Trust Wallet token. I haven't received my TWT eventhough I've invited some friends and family members. I'm still studying it though in the community.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining FED(coin) with your home Pc or Laptop using the wallet on: August 24, 2020, 12:15:12 AM
I would like to know if this a CPU/GPU mining coin and if this coin is VPS friendly? Because I don't want my VPS service provider banning my account when mining this because of being a memory hog. I will also research on this coin.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If someone mistakenly sent you 1 ETH, what would you do? on: August 23, 2020, 11:43:34 PM
If that ever happened to me. How I wish. I will definitely find sleeper coins/tokens, low cap coins, since there's no way but up because the coin that I am going to buy are on the floor already. For example, if I buy 1 sat coins/tokens, and it became 2 sats, it only means that I double my money. What if it because 10 sats? But of course, I will find good fundamentals coins/tokens not just shit coins.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trx or Eth ? on: August 23, 2020, 07:22:39 PM
Eth of course. Not only because it has more developers developing in it, but also because it is more decentralized than trx. The nature of trx is DPOS or Delegated Proof of Stake. It is not that decentralized because only a number of nodes control the majority of the mining power of the system. therefore their voting power as well. Think of it as cartel. so if you are just a small node in the network, goodluck to you because you have no voice. It is set to fail. Just like Steem. Steem is a good project. It is a decentralized social media. However, because it's consensus mechanism is DPOS, when Justin Sun bought more than 51% of the node of Steem, he dumped it so hard that the price plummeted and never recovered until now... So that's the danger of DPOS consensus mechanism. It is not that decentralized. We need decentralized system to avoid the 51% attack.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are options to mine a profitable crypto on my computer. on: August 23, 2020, 05:42:15 PM
Many in this thread suggested Idena and Mass. While I cannot speak for Mass because I'm still about to read about it... I've already tried Idena. In fact I joined their signature campaign because I am fascinated with this project. And when it comes to mining, it is not using CPU or GPU mining. It is only using bandwidth. so you can say that this is a bandwidth coin.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 23, 2020, 05:24:07 PM
Well, all assets started as unstable. But in reality there's no stable asset class. Even fiat is not stable. But the reason bitcoin is not stable is simply because it is a new asset class. People are still finding it's real value, it is called price discovery. Since it is very new, it is still finding it's stability. But overtime, maybe after all the coins were mined, it will become stable. When most people are using it. But such is the nature of bitcoin, it is still speculation. Even though it has use case -- transfer of value, it is still speculation currency. Who knows. Maybe hundred years from now, it will become the defacto currency of the world or maybe it will lose it's value and  go down to zero. Who knows right? But in the next coming halvings, I think it will reach it's relative stability. As of now, if that is what you are looking for. You're not in luck. Better yet, play with it's instability as long as you can, you can earn from the spread.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mine Altcoins using VPS? on: August 23, 2020, 03:15:46 PM
Hi everyone! I would just like to ask if anyone of you here already experienced mining altcoins using VPS?

I currently have VPS in Digital Ocean. I know that you can mine certain altcoins using VPS, but I don't know which ones. Also I don't know what is the process. Which is the best one to mine right now and what are the precautions one should take when mining using VPS. This is because I've read somewhere that mining using VPS will cause your VPS account to be banned. How do I prevent it? And also what are the best practices to do when mining using VPS. And which VPS services are the best for this kind of purpose.

I will really appreciate your answers.

You might try mining Gapcoin (GAP), difficulty is still relatively low and you can currently find blocks with a single core VPS ...

Gapcoind server or desktop set-up ...

Remember to use CPUlimit or the VPS company might ban you for being a resource hog!

Cheers!

Hi BitcoinFX, thank you for sharing this coin. I will definitely check this out later when I got home in my PC. Will try it out also with a disposable VPS, (not my main account) and play with settings. it's a good thing that you've provided the link for the setup. cheers to you man!
