1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Bitcrane T-110 miners - using damaged miners to build into working miners on: November 16, 2017, 12:28:46 PM
These are ancient asic technology by today's standards and woefully inefficient. They'll cost you 10x more to run than they mine. Salvage the cubieboards, power supplies and cables and toss the rest.

Thanks -ck.

I actually want to get them mining again if possible. I know they are high watt devices for low hashing power (approximately 1GH/s per watt) by today's standards, but aside from my S7, they are what I have. My budget is these or nothing. I'm currently on an electricity plan with my energy provider, so electricity prices are not an issue at the moment. I would like to use some of them alongside the S7 for an extra boost in my hash rates. They also make great room heaters in winter... Tongue
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Bitcrane T-110 miners - using damaged miners to build into working miners on: November 13, 2017, 02:39:41 PM
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with refurbishing / rebuilding broken or sub functional Bitcrane T-110 and T-110s miners.

I have 5x T-110 and 2x T-110s - all of which are either running off a single Hashfast module or not functioning at all. I hope to get the 2x T-110s miners working again by using parts from the 5x T-110 miners. If I can also get one or two T-110 miners also working that would be a bonus. I know I have at least 6 working power supplies, and also 6 cubieboards working, and from the hashing I see when I can get some of them to power up, I think I have at least 10 Hashfast modules that should work.

Also if anyone has had any success recovering or underclocking the Hashfast boards, using the Hashfast Characterization Monitor (HCM) on the cubian OS installed with these miners, I'd be happy to learn from their experience.

Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.  Smiley

For the time travellers; that sounds like dying PSU. My PSU in the T-110 died, I believe.

Thanks for that Dogie.

In the time since I posted my original reply (10 months ago) I have since acquired a further 3 x T-110 units, primarily for parts (as the seller did mention that they weren't working properly).
So I now have the parts of my 2x T-110s and 5x T-110 units, and I don't think any of all 7 of them work properly at all after going through last summer, so much so that I didn't even try using them during winter - that and I bought myself an Antminer S7, which does around 5x the hashing that these Bitcrane T-110 units did individually, for around 1600W compared to 1100W each for a T-110.

I will attempt to dismantle a couple of them, removing and swapping power supplies, cubieboards, and hashfast boards, to see if I can get at least one or both of the T-110s, and maybe a couple of the T-110 units working again.

If anyone else is still playing around with Bitcrane T-110 hardware, I'd be happy to hear from them!

Regards,

Christal

Hi Dogie and BTCtalk members.

First of all, great review from Dogie - loving that there is still some content around. Everything from BitCrane has virtually disappeared now they are defunct...

I own 4 BitCrane T-110 series miners, 2x T-110 and 2x T-110s.

The 2x T-110 run well, although I have had to underclock and overvolt them a little to run stable, my ambient temperature is around 35°C this time of year, and yes, that's in an air-conditioned room.
The 2x T-110s are non-functional however, despite my best efforts modifying the param.py and pools.conf.json files, and using HCM (HashFast Characterization Monitor) from SSH into the system on the cubieboard.

The T-110s miners both run for about 5 seconds, maybe completing up to 1000 work units, then reset and I end up in an endless loop of them resetting within the 5 second update.

Anyone else experience this, and more importantly did they overcome it?

Hey All,

So I decided I'd see if I could get Minera running on an old BitCrane T-110s which has a cubieboard a10 controller.

I got myself a clean MicroSD card and flashed it with the latest Minera 0.7.0 and took the MicroSD card that was in the cubieboard in the T-110s out and replaced it with the Minera MicroSD card.

Now I can't get to any webpage or SSH into Minera or the Jessie Debian shell using PuTTY, as it doesn't appear to have picked up a DHCP IP address, nor did it carry over my old static IP address from the BitCrane Cubian configuration (which is not surprising since that was on the MicroSD card I removed). Any ideas on how I can SSH or web into Minera when I don't know or have a new IP address? Also is it possible that the cubieboard isn't booting this card, which my understanding is that it was built for Raspberry Pi?

Regards,

Chris
6  Other / Beginners & Help / GUIminer wont start - not minimized or off screen either on: May 01, 2013, 12:31:12 AM
Hi All,

I'm having a bizarre problem with GUIminer. Using the latest version 2012.12.03, I run the program and it shows the icon in the notification area for about 5 seconds then it disappears.

I thought it might have just been that annoying problem where it goes off screen, but it's not that. The program itself doesn't stay running.

I've tried deleting the application folder, redownloaded and extracted it to a new folder, still no luck.

Also tried clearing the poclbm.ini file, but it's not making a difference either. No matter what I try, I can't get GUIminer to start up!

This all started when I tried installing the latest AMD drivers (Catalyst 13.4) ... what a load of crap they are!

I've since used driver sweeper to remove them, and gone back to using Catalyst 12.10 with the AMD SDK 2.8.

Could it have something to do with those new drivers having been installed, and if so, how do I go about fixing this issue?
