I have 8 7970 cards running in milk crates with box fans on them.  2 of the 8 cards have started to have fan issues after running 24/7 since May.  I've seen/read several different opinions on how to fix this. Unfortunately I don't have the boxes to RMA these cards, the rigs came pre built.  Is it crazy to just remove the plastic housing including the GPU fans and let the cards just be cooled by the box fans I have setup next to the rigs?

Exactly. It's the most confusing system I've ever seen. There is no way a regular person is going to keep up with IOUs, Credit/Trust, and that wacky website. Ripple is just a disaster of confusion.  I too couldn't figure out how to sell my Ripples. At one point I transferred them into BTC, but from what I understand that was an IOU from someone for BTC, and I couldn't figure out where or how to cash it in.  Regular people who think keyboard shortcuts are magic will never figure this out.

This is an amazing idea. What an opportunity for low risk growth of DigitalCoin's value via outside fiat / BTC means. Very impressive concept that adds even more incentive to invest in the future of DGC.

Try different engines and memclocks on the 7970's.  I've got 2 identical rigs with 4 7970's and powered risers and they each like different cgminer settings. Strange since they are literally the same machine as far as components go.   Also I've found that plugging the monitor into different cards and rebooting will change or improve the hashrate.  It's all black magic with 7970s, especially when you're running 4 of them.   I don't use dummy plugs on any of the cards that the monitor isn't connected to. 

How much RAM does your system have in it? Do you have at least 4GB on the board?

Seems like a good period of accumulation on the Cryptsy charts for DGC. Steady prices and smart buyers are moving in. Love what I see from this coin and it's dev team.
