Starting to give up hope on my 2 MNs.. both have recieved 1drk each (running since day1 of spork implementation).. and i know that iam probably just unlucky, but still, 1 frigging drk each, lol... ![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) and then i browse the darksend webpage and see some nodes having 17, and 13 drk.. i simply cannot be this unlucky..

Variance seems to be a real pain for me.. have 18 000 active minutes on my MN, and it has recieved 1 drk ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) 2nd one iam sharing with a friend, it has 14k active minutes and also 1 drk.. then i see nodes in the list that have been active about 4000 minutes, gotten 5 drk.. not fair hehe ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

How can i actually verify that my MN is working? Have 2 MNs that have been up since softfork launch, (updated within a few hrs of latest version) and one of them has gotten 1 drk payment, the other 0. Both local and remote have latest darkcoind, and i have ran the masternode sync.. Its no fun looking in the list hehe, some have gotten 9drk, many 4 etc... ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

How do i display the receiving adress for my MN (if the MN payments actually go to this wallet??) ?
I have tried to get it to display the adress, but all it gives me with any of the "getadress" commands is this;
darkcoind getaccountaddress;
error: {"code":-1,"message":"getaccountaddress <account>\nReturns the current DarkCoin address for receiving payments to this account."}
Isnt there anyway to display the current adress the node has ( i generated a new one with "getnewaddress", but i still get the same error msgs..
Yes... darkcoind getaddressesbyaccount And what you should do is darkcoind getaccountaddress 0 ahh, cheers for that ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) So, i keep on asking, but perhaps its not known.. will MN payments end up in the MN "hot" wallet? I am wondering the same, from what I've read I think they'll be on the cold wallet address. The one next to you MN listed here http://drk.poolhash.org/darksend.htmlSeems most logical yeah, but i've read different things on how one will be supposed to use the excess drk in that wallet.. if at all possible?

Perhaps a silly question, but when a MN is payed, does the drk end up in the "1000drk" wallet, and if so is it at all possible to get these drk out without disrupting the function of the running MN?

Does anyone have any good ideas how to monitor your MN? enabling sendmail in the VPS and opening ports is one option, but probably not a very good one.
Ping works, but thats no guarantee darkcoind is actually running..
Simple. Bookmark this page http://drk.poolhash.orgYou have two independent Masternode listings. Check your IP against them. If all is good, they'll show up nicely. But that requires manual inspection ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I will look into the possibility of using postfix and sending email if darkcoind goes down.. Ah, I get what you mean. But checking emails also requires manual check. Obviously you can get an email notification pushed onto your phone I guess... Use http://uptimerobot.com/--> HTTP and Keyword monitors : Use address as Keyword. If NM is invalided in both poolhash and darkcoin.io, entry will be removed. http://drk.poolhash.org/vertcoin/blocks/masterlist.json is source for listing. uptimerobot Alert : Get alerted via e-mail, SMS, Twitter, web-hooks or push. (Twitter alarm is very good) This sounds like an excellent solution for me, since i use my email inbox for basically everything. Will grab some coffee and try to get it working, thanks! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

You do not need to open any port for outbound mail. I have it locked down via csf so it only allows traffic (in/out) on port 9999, and ssh open from 2 wan adresses, my home connection and my workplace.. So i guess it would be ok to open one outbound port to enable sendmail.. any other opinions / suggestions?

I think i managed to get the local/remote MN setup working, at least the MN is shown in the masternode list, and i cant see any logs with errors (only have debug.log and db.log).. any way to really confirm its working before 20th? Running netstat shows active tcp connections both to and from the MN on port 9999, so im guessing it works..? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

Currently in the process of setting up my first MN, have it locked down security-wise (block root ssh etc), but i cant really seem to get the cold/hot setup working.
I have followed the guides posted on darkcointalk by tantestefana and chaeplin (excellent guides btw), but iam wondering if its not possible to generate the masternode key etc yet on the stable version?
here is the darkcoind info i have on my MN;
"version" : 91001, "protocolversion" : 70018, "walletversion" : 60000,
yeah, you need to get the rc version on both machines. Right, kindoff figured.. is it perhaps better to wait for a newer stable release, or i should grab the 10x something version now? just not sure how i go about updating darkcoind (now and in the future), or its as simple as pointing it to another repo and going through the building process again?

Have a little question regarding api key security - how are the keys secured (guess this applies to both this service and exchanges)?
Iam guessing they aren't encrypted client side, so technically someone could wreak havoc with my coins if they hack your servers?
