This is why I always use the "official" wallet for a coin. Yes it is a lot to manage sometimes but I trust it much better. I don't like all these apps that hold coins for you. This third party Coinpouch app that you don't know who maintains it was somehow compromised today it seems https://twitter.com/coinpouchapp/status/933124946565451777?s=09126 million Verge stolen from the users of the Coinpouch app. damn No it is not the community fault. What more official do you like when it is listed on official website of Verge? If devs do not refund this, expect this project do slowly exit...This game is ALL about trust/trustless Sell me your coins now while you are FUDing. Weak hands don't deserve this coin, especially if you think its devs fault you or someone else entrusts their money in a third party service. Its still a bummer and I do feel bad for those people affected. They don't deserve it nonetheless. |

BTC marketcap = $122,059,776,692 for $7325.05 per coin and 16,663,337 coins in total VERGE marketcap = $106,429,978 for $0.007499 per coin and 14,193,313,196 coins in total So everybody hopes that VERGE will moon but we need to be realistic. For example, doubling the current coin-price would mean marketcap of 2 x the current one = $212,859,956; tripling the current coin-price = $319,289,934 and that places VERGE just outside the top 20 on Coinmarketcap. If VERGE should enter the top 10 (in our dreams probably), we are looking at a minimum marketcap of $1.000.000.000 which is about 9 times the current marketcap or 9 times the current token-price which would place the coinprice on $0,070459 (7 cents). So yes, I would love VERGE to reach 1 dollar  but 10 cents would already be amazing, right? Finally someone who can math and do basic investment analysis. Noobs should listen to people like this guy. |

I am planning to invest small amount and try to keep it for 3 months and see where the price goes..
current price is dirt cheap compare to other anonymous coins
But also has more coin supply than every other anonymous coin, keep that in mind. Yes, with the current supply you can't expect the same per $/BTC/XVG price as some other coins. But if the new tech is 1/2 as good as they're saying, the current price will be a distant memory. Price is relative, so it doesn't have to be like other coins. However, what I know is that most people would rather count in whole numbers instead of fractions of a whole number. This is without mentioning the ridiculous good privacy tech XVG has forecast. I know that today a nexus point has been crossed and things might never be the same. |

Sorry guys but for me this crypto is soo way overvaluated. I can see much anonymous cryptocurrencies arround so the competition is hard and cant see Verge edge..
Monero, Zcash, Pivx, DeepOnion, hard to keep up IMO
Why come to this thread just to say that? If you don't want to invest in something that is fine, your choice, but to bash something just for the sake of it is ridiculous. It is not overvalued in the slightest, it is way undervalued when you compare XVG to the other privacy coins. You mention DeepOnion but that is new, XVG has been around for far longer. Most of those crytocurrencies you mention should be keeping up with XVG, not the other way around. Your comment suggests other projects are better or have been around longer, which is far from the truth. It has not taken off as well as people hoped just yet, but anything can happen and big things are yet to come. The dev is very active and XVG has a huge community. It has already been successful in its own right. lol half the coins he just named have nothing in terms of privacy Yah but those coins he named are prospering nonetheless. Tell me more about this "prospering" you mention. What defines it? |

short answer, no. our electrum wallets are connecting to hidden services, not clearnet nodes. same for our android wallet. wraith will have much more than just tor though. not sure if you read the paper or not. Tor services have been available for Bitcoin Electrum since at least 2012: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=113116.0You can generally run any Bitcoin clone over Tor in the core GUI wallet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=113116.0Bitcoin can run easily on the Tor network. Verge is at a really nice price right now. It's a shame about the huge supply though, it limits the price action
What I like verge is the stability of the price. Even though btc shoot up, verge remains stable, it may go down, but you know the price will go up. Right now, verge is 100 sats and keeps rising. I'm still happy that I am still mining this coin. I have confidence on the future of this coin. To be honest I wish I could mine it as well, I guess I will have to buy more now that it's cheap. This new paper announcing the tech present and coming forward is insane! Great work to Dev. and everyone with a active hand in making these projects and presentations come true. |

That's interesting. The price of XVG is going down probably heading to around 50 satos. How come? Is something big about to come in the very next days or what?
If you look at the long term chart XVG is cyclical. The price drops and bounces each month. The only question is how big or small will the bounce be Exactly. |

I'm actually (negatively) surprised that the creators do not address the problems many people seem to have right now.
I sent 200 tks to a different wallet (Verge Tor Android) and although it turns up on the blockchain nothing happens in my wallet. Keeps saying not connected.
I think there should be a way bigger uproar about this.
If this was BTC, ETH or similar people would go nuts.
As a temp fix, you can download the tor browser and install. Open it and leave it running. Then download the tor version of electrum wallet and replace the files in your standard electrum wallet folder. It is the same wallet, just has tor privacy. It works. Does not work either. I had it running for 2 days now. Did not synchronize once. Coinomi seems to be working but a few hundred coins payment from my mining pool are still in Limbo (for 3 days now). Never arrived in the wallet. the tor electrum server didnt need to be scaled, and it has worked the entire time. make sure you are connecting to port 50001 maybe? also, pool payments are not related to us, contact the pool owner if you have issues with a pool. This is the Android Tor Wallet. There is no way for me to changed servers (at least I couldn't find one). I was able to that in the Electrum Windows Wallet though. The payment has been sent by the pool. I can see it on the Blockchain connected to my wallet address so it should be in my Wallet (the reason I wrote it's in Limbo) - yet the Wallet keeps saying "Not connected" and "No coins received yet". The thing is: I'm not the only one having this problem. I've read of at least 20 more people here (just a few posts back) and on the Vergecurrency Reddit forum who claim the Wallet does not connect. Yeah, but if it was a systemic problem I'd expect everyone to have issues though, not just a couple of people. For example, some people might not know how to run Tor and think the dev is to blame for that for some reason its just that they aren't aware of how to run things the right way. |

So ... at least 2 devs here (one just replied to several questions) but none addresses the real problem many people are having right now - just defends the coin itself and why it's apparently better. Makes you think...

I think that XVG Could will reach $1 soon  lol lets break 100 first and stay there for 3 mo At the current pace 100 could come really soon. And last time it was above 100 sats it was very stable over 100. Pretty sold on it going past 100 today. Love this community. Great work as always Dev! |
