Regarding the privacy of Verge, I read somewhere, this is open ledger. Is this true? Can someone explain this?

Thanks

It's a Bitcoin clone, using a very old version of the Bitcoin codebase. It has no privacy features. The so called privacy is shipping a version that uses tor by default (or has a switch to turn it on?). Guess what? It's simple to run Bitcoin over tor, and you'd have far more privacy because people actually use Bitcoin.

Does anyone knows when is gonna get fixed? its a waste of time to keep mining? should i whait until its fixed? and, im gonna get paid during all my validated shares? its so unreal, 1º time i see that a pool has got this issue.
Im worried of wasting time/energy. I will be gratefull if some one answers me back. Thx

Hi, my name is Michael Stollaire, a member of the Verge (XVG) Core Team. The very old version of the Bitcoin codebase statement is absolutely not true. About privacy, we are releasing a new feature this month called Wraith Protocol, which puts Verge on the same level as Monero and the other privacy coins, making this statement incorrect as well.

Hi Michael Stollaire. It kind of looks like Bitcoin v0.9 codebase, which was released more than three years ago. Is this incorrect?

Do you have any info about this wraith protocol? Doesn't seem to be in the op. Is this something you guys are rolling your own, or borrowing from somewhere else?

Thanks for the info, Michael! Verge definitely needs to step up to be better than Monero and have a better chance at getting included in other DApps such as TenX.

I have some questions about Wraith protocol, too, and I hope you don't mind sharing your ideas about these.

Wraith is said to scramble the wallet address and transaction can't be seen along with other infos... So as a sender or a receiver, how would I track my transaction? Will I see it on my own wallet?

Thank you!

I'm actually (negatively) surprised that the creators do not address the problems many people seem to have right now.
I sent 200 tks to a different wallet (Verge Tor Android) and although it turns up on the blockchain nothing happens in my wallet. Keeps saying not connected.
I think there should be a way bigger uproar about this.
If this was BTC, ETH or similar people would go nuts.

As a temp fix, you can download the tor browser and install. Open it and leave it running. Then download the tor version of electrum wallet and replace the files in your standard electrum wallet folder. It is the same wallet, just has tor privacy. It works.

Hoping someone has an answer about the Electrum wallet not connecting for some  time now. Anyone ?

-----

Also... I tried importing my private key from the address I use on Electrum. The public address DOES show up in the QT wallet under "Receive Coins" but my balance does not.

Ideas on that also ?

To further part 2 of my question... a NEW payment coming in from ZPOOL is going to my QT Wallet no problem. To the *same* address as my Electrum wallet. BUT none of my old transactions are showing in the QT wallet. Any suggestions for a fix ?

See image :

http://ibb.co/fdBBUF

The last thing in my Electrum wallet before it quit connecting (60 coins) was directly before the last item displayed on ZPOOL (58 coins).

I got the QT wallet to work.

Exported private key to QT from Electrum...  then I actually *deleted* the whole database, started the QT, deleted it again, then downloaded the blockchain manually -- when I restarted and re-synched all my coins showed up in the QT wallet.

Michael,

Nice to see someone responding here. I know you guys are busy but, you really need to mind this forum and get answers to people even if you just acknowledge them. Silence here is a coin killer. Go VERGE!

how to connect verge wallet with nodes?
i'm trying to add nodes manually but it says me: "Method not found (code -32601)"

and..

why verge faucet game does not work? when i win some verge and clain it with address, they say me: "TRANSACTION FAILED. ERROR: ECONNREFUSED"

add the nodes in your .conf

also you can download the chain from vergecurrency.de

and, the game ran out of coins, because it relies on users to donate to it. itll be back up when the wallet receives coins.

because we have more privacy resources than -any- other privacy coin.

also, because we dont have a premine, ico, and users are able to see distribution/look up transactions.

our community is massive also.

hi jwinterm, long time no see.

this is something we are rolling out.

also, its based somewhat on btc .10. but bitcoin obviously does not support i2p, and does not support multi algorithm mining (as you already know)

we dont plan on integrating segwit, if we need to scale up, we will do so on-chain.

dash is not private at all, and we feel monero is "too private" to receive real mainstream adoption, but its great for darknet markets. also, with a private ledger, how can you be assured the price wasnt pumped by a single entity holding most of the supply?

we're similar to deeponion, but MUCH better. we support i2p, not just tor. also, with a public ledger (like deeponion has) users and retailers/merchants can easily look up transactions for support.

we have a vast array of privacy resources, have a look around our github repo! https://github.com/vergecurrency/verge

also, unlike deeponion, we didnt do a 100% premine (air drop = devs premined entire supply and can send them to whoever they want, as well as keep/trade a large portion.)
