1  Other / Meta / Re: How about we start banning scammers? on: November 06, 2017, 04:17:27 PM
It's amazing to me that this forum/admins/moderators are allowing their own users to get scammed without doing anything about it. It's common sense that someone like JACC the scammer is extremely known around here and uses a self moderated thread, has been reported many many many times, has a very negative trust setting, and on top of that after I have for several weeks constantly posting on his scam thread (of course being deleted by the scammer JACC) for people to watch out, I receive an email from the mods that I should stop and that he can continue scamming.

This makes people go away from this forum. Yes, you can say, oh well, the new users need to learn about getting scammed bla bla, this can easily be avoided with some minor programming. If trust level is > certain X, reported by trusted/positive members of the forum, ban the thread/user or at least remove self moderated threads for that particular user. Simple.

Honestly, since I was scammed, I barely use this forum anymore since the mods do not want to take any action on it.
2  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Favorite crypto exchange? Why? on: October 02, 2017, 05:00:29 AM
I don't use exchanges much
I prefer wallets

How do you buy/trade coins then? Directly from wallets?

I transfer to local exchanges when I can't buy directly with bitcoins, but I avoid it because the price tends to rise over time

I see. Thanks for the input

Bittrex. Plenty of alt currency+ high volume not to mention of their sophisticated user interface. It's very popular lately.

Agree, but have you tried the GDAX user interface? Much better. However Ill take the amount of alts on bittrex over user interface on gdax any day.

So there is this scammer that claim to sell digital goods on this forum which he scams people. He has scammed so many on this forum including myself. I am tired of it and I have been constantly posting scam alerts on his threads. However, this lowlife, uses a self moderated thread, and constantly deletes all the comments from the people that were scammed. I managed to block one of his account and thread, but now he moved on to another. Let me know what you can do for me so we can ban this scammer so people don't lose anymore money. I am willing to pay for like a auto posting script that once he deleted my message that it re-posts it automatically. You can find his fake thread here and he goes by name name of "Jacc" for this one for now.

This lowlife piece of sh*t needs to go and we need to save other members from getting scammed, or at least try to.

I believe this scammer can't be trace. He can still create another account just to sell to foolish people that don't know that they are trusted.

This is why newbies should read first the welcome threads before buying goods here at the forum because they are not avoidable for people that are too lousy to read.

I agree. However, constant posting on this users thread (that he keeps deleting since it is a self moderated thread), helps out a bit on some users that it is a scam. Some read it and just see constant bumps from the user saying "stored updated" thinking its legit.

I used to love GDAX/Coinbase, but limited amount of coins. Now moved on to Bittrex, good marketplace but the user interface sucks. Your preference? Why?

Thanks for your input. However, I know what's right and I won't allow this lowlife to take other members money. Will post every single minute if I need to on that thread.

Guys,
The guy thats selling "Digital Goods" DemonSlayer and is on Skype at @RodayDruggie, that is a scam. I've sent him $200 in Bitcoin for goods, never seen it, dude stop responding.

His forum is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2153614.0

I've contacted the admins and waiting for their reply. I have the TX ID and screenshots to prove it. Don't get scammed by this lowlife.

Well, what can you expect from someone with that Skype user name? If the payment was meant for you-know-what-i-mean goods, then you can forget about escalating this issue to law enforcement.

Always use escrow. It's the best way to protect yourself when transacting with strangers. Especially new members with self-moderated threads. What were you thinking when you sent him $200 upfront? Did you forget such a thing as photoshop exists? And that those digital goods on his (now dead) thread might have been doctored or sourced from google images?

Amazing how despite so much caution and scam warnings, these scammers still manage to pinch money right before the eyes of vigilant DT members.

And all those fake vouches. You fell for those?

Unfortunately didn't do enough research about the user and jumped in and got scammed. It's all my fault. Was just trying to notify other members before they made the same mistake. I think with the help of some other members on the forum, we've managed at least to shut down that thread of his and gave him enough negative ratings from all the people that got scammed. Obviously, not a huge deal for him, but it will slow him down a bit before he builds up another username and scams more people.

BRING THIS SCAMMER TO THE TOP. THIS DUDE IS SCAM!! CHECK HIS RATINGS IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME. Keeps deleting negative posts. If anyone else wants screen shots of me sending him funds, DM me. Sent him $200 in BTC and got scammed. Posted about him in the scam forum like many others and also contacted the admins. Will keep posting and bumping it until he is banned. Don't let him take your hard earned money.

FYI - If he scammed you, report him with a "negative." Click the "Trust" link under his name and report the scam like many others did which you can see there as well. Make sure to check the reviews from all the people he already scammed.

Yup same thing here. Asked for a small miscalculation and took the $ and ran. Report him to the admins. Will get him banned.

He keeps deleting the comments on this thread so people get scammed into it like I did.
