1  Other / Meta / Re: UNLOCKING ACCOUNT - how to report PM to hilariousandco on: August 28, 2017, 08:09:20 PM
In case you haven't, please have a look at this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545

If the address you're using to sign was shared in a PM, the easiest would be to report that PM (have the recipient report it) using the Report To Admin button.

Sent you a PM.
2  Other / Meta / Re: Can hilariousandco see PMs? on: August 27, 2017, 12:00:51 AM
You'll need to report the PMs with the info in to me so I can verify them. I can't see yours or anyone else's PMs to verify it properly.

I've PMed you alternative proof, not related to PMs. I tried to keep it short, if that is enough to unlock my account, then you don't need to read the rest of this post Wink

P.S. I'm afraid I don't understand on how to report PMs to you? You can only report PMs to admins that are in your inbox, right? I've tried manually entering PM ids into PM report link, but that gives me "You are not allowed to access this section" error, cause I'm not the one that received the PMs that were posted from my account. I have all the info on the PMs now, dates, which members where they sent to, and content. How do I report it to you?

Edit: Ok, got it now and account recovered. Assistance no longer needed, but still thank you for your time Wink

I see a lot of posts about people who have can't access their accounts, but can't get any response from admins/moderators. Was anyone able to recover their accounts recently, and if they did how long did it take? Was your account hacked or just locked for security?
1 month ago my account got locked because of me changing it's password,I had to sign a message from my bitcoin adress that was in my outbox and @hilariousandco moderator helped me and unlocked my account after checking the signature. Thanks to him again!I really recommend to anyone here to stack his bitcoin adress somewhere so even if the account somehow get compromised, staff members would accept to give it to you back.

You mean the address was in a PM you sent? How did you show the PM to hilariousandco? I thought he can't see other user's PMs, right?
4  Other / Meta / UNLOCKING ACCOUNT - how to report PM to hilariousandco on: August 26, 2017, 10:39:03 PM
Sorry, if this a newbie question, but I can't find this information by searching the forum.

I am trying to get my locked account unlocked. I can prove that the account is mine, if I can show hilariousandco the PMs that the account has sent (I know PM ids). He told me to report the PMs to him:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2100692.msg21186950#msg21186950

To put it simply, I don't understand what this means. Does report mean I need to press a button on "Report to admin" on the PM? But you can only do that if the PM is in your inbox and the PM is in the inbox of other user's accounts and outbox of the locked account that I'm trying to unlock in the first place. Does it mean that I simply have to enter a link in my browser: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=report;l=-1;pmsg=[PM_ID] while logged in? Which would mean that any user can report PMs, even if he didn't send/receive them. I tried doing that but I get the error screen "You are not allowed to access this section". Please help, people who got their account unlocked by hilariousandco by proving ownership through PMs, how did you do that?
5  Other / Meta / Re: Help recovering original account on: August 25, 2017, 07:41:41 AM
Replied to your PM Smiley.

Edit: Account recovered.

I've sent you a PM too on August 17 with PM IDs where I posted my public PGP, but no reply. Did I provide sufficient information? Can my account be recovered?
6  Other / Meta / Re: Can hilariousandco see PMs? on: August 24, 2017, 01:39:57 PM
I don't know what your account is or what it was banned for but if it was just locked due to inactivity I can unlock it providing you can prove that it's yours.

Bump. Sent you PMs on Aug 19 and Aug 21 in reply to your PM. Did I provide enough info to prove that I am the original owner? Can my account be recovered?
7  Other / Meta / Re: Was anyone able to recover their account? on: August 24, 2017, 04:44:53 AM
Most accounts of them have been hacked and I think mod not will be easily believe what they have said. I personally have never seen an account that has been hacked can be back again. If their account is just disabled, I've seen a mod say disabled accounts can still be restored or enable again.

My account has been hacked too, but fortunately I was able to recover it since I still have all my addresses that was staked here in this forum from the past 3 years. The thing is, you just need to follow the instructions written on this topic in order for you to recover your account if you have sufficient evidence.

Also, don't expect theymos or Cyrus to reply immediately to your concerns as the two admins are too busy right now on the development of EpochTalk.

My account wasn't hacked, just automatically locked. The thing is, my PGP key is only in the PMs I sent. Those PMs may have been deleted from my outbox. Will the admins still be able to see them?

How long did it take for you to get a response from @hilariousandco? My account is only locked too. I PMed him about the status of my account and he said it's only locked and he can unlock it. I've sent him a PM with PM ids and signed message, but no response for 4 days now.
Also, if it's a locked account then it only needs an unlock and you can just use it again with old password?

Verified.

Have you sent it to the admins since they are the only ones who can recover those accounts that is either theymos or Cyrus?

Yes.
I sent to theymos on: August 01, 2017, 08:22:47 PM

As of now, I haven’t received a response.

Base on the past cases like this, it can take a week or two or even a month. Once you done the necessary things, all you need to do is wait since they have a lot of things that requires much of their attention.

I wonder if it would be a good idea if admins added a couple of Hero members as temporary volunteer admins or something like that with special privileges just to unlock accounts, to reduce the queue. 1 in 2 threads in Meta is people complaining about not being able to get back a lost account. The thing is a lot of accounts are locked due to no fault of the account owners. My account wasn't even hacked, just got automatically deactivated, I still have the password, I can prove that the account is mine, because I've posted my address in PMs. No response from admins, hilariousandco responded to a PM a few days ago and confirmed that my account is just locked for security (and he can unlock accounts like that) after seeing me post here, but now he's not responding as well. I'm starting to lose hope Sad

I don't know what your account is or what it was banned for but if it was just locked due to inactivity I can unlock it providing you can prove that it's yours.

Sent you another PM.

13  Other / Meta / Re: Can hilariousandco see PMs? on: August 19, 2017, 08:41:16 AM
well obviously he can,
but pardon me,why would you send him a PM for a banned account ?
as far as i know if you want to claim your account you need to send it to Theymos or Cyrus.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

in conclusion,if you can prove that you're the owner of that account by signing the message,
you can send it directly to Theymos or Cyrus.
but,banned account ? it's very rare

Can you clarify to me what does banned account mean. My account just got deactivated, after not using it for years, as far as I know no one else had access to it, while I was gone. So I just need it unlocked right? The old password should still be good? The problem is Theymos and Cyrus don't seem to be active or responding to user messages.
14  Other / Meta / Can hilariousandco see PMs? on: August 18, 2017, 09:58:52 PM
Since I don't wanna disturb him directly with a noob question, I wanna ask hero members can hilariousandco see our PMs? I'm asking, cause if you only posted your Bitcoin address/key in a PM can hilariousandco see them to get your account unbanned? And if he does, does he access our account directly to do that?
15  Other / Meta / Re: HELP WITH LOST ACC (Is public PGP enough to recover an account?) on: August 18, 2017, 08:58:19 PM
weeks... sometime months or worse

Jesus, I have some urgent business and people could lose money if I wait for too long. Isn't there a faster way to reach the admins?
16  Other / Meta / Re: Is public PGP good enough to recover an account? on: August 17, 2017, 09:23:49 PM
I wonder how long it usually takes for admins to respond, I have some urgent information for some of my old contacts.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Is public PGP good enough to recover an account? on: August 16, 2017, 08:51:30 PM
But what if I can't remember an exact PM id (like I said it was years ago, before the forum started sending notifications about messages to email)? There should be well over ahundred of PMs with my public PGP key posted between certain dates. Can/will admins bother to go through your PM history on a certain date and check several messages for your key?

EDIT: I know some PM IDs where my key was posted now, waiting for response from admins.
18  Other / Meta / URGENT HELP WITH LOST ACC on: August 15, 2017, 09:40:23 PM
Hello, I got locked out of my Senior account due to it being unused for years (it wasn't hacked). I read that I need to send a signed message, but PGP signature isn't in my profile or any public posts (I did not know what PGP was when I became a member of this community years ago, and forgot to ever update my profile, PGP key isn't required when you register to the forum, after all). However my public PGP key is posted all over my PM history, so if I post that to one of the moderators and they post an encrypted message back, that only I can read, and I post the content back to them, shouldn't this be sufficient proof that I'm the original owner of the account?

I have a Sr. account, and I have some important urgent information to my old contacts if they're still around on this forum, but now I can't access my account after not using it for years. I don't necessarily need a new password, just unbanning the account would work, if that is more convenient. I can see that the account hasn't been logged in since the last time I was years ago, it just got locked because I haven't used it for a while.
