I believe they are processing pallet orders first.
admittedly we placed a pallet order and have been getting regular communication from Cannan

Will keep you posted.

Well i ordered a pallet and no response at all other than automated "we only accept wire for this, how do you want to pay"  All they need to do is send pallet people wire instrucions, but we did not even get that, hell  bitmain is automated right when you checkout it shows.

So not sure what you mean by regular communication, you mean the automated back and forths?  Only communication should be (here is wire info or bitcoin address, as soon as payment clears items will ship).  Or would be nice to hear something like (we are not shipping till whatever date, or we are processing orders xxxx-xxxx today.  Anything is better than nothing.

We followed up our order with an email with the order id etc requesting more company info from them to process the transfer as with any international money transfer between businesses (we require tax id, registration number etc etc) and attached a purchase order.
we then had our product/machinery supplier (who is a friend we can trust) in china contact them independently to verify their business registration, which they did and Canaan is legit. Canaan 'said' are shipping out orders at the end of the month and are processing payment instructions 'soon'.

I hope you and we all get our orders soon.

You will need some of these:
http://www.parallelminer.com/product/rev2-ultimate-2400watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-94-platinum-efficiency-200v240v-w-32pcie-plugs/

As for networking you can build a few Rasberry Pi, they have a how to a few pages back by Philip. Canaan site state 20 miners per controller but I would do 8 per controller, it would be 2 daisy chains per usb port. Network is fairly simple doesn't require much to setup. Good luck on getting the 60 Avalon' s it's been quiet from Canaan lately.

Can the power supply unit from Canaan be used in the US and similar regions?
or is it for Asia and/or UK?

Thanks

400amp 220 volts sounds better

5 amps a unit

derate 20%

320 amps  divide by 5 =  64 max

so running 55 is possible

now  1100 watts = 4000 btu

55 x 4000 btu =  220,000 btu

you need lots of exhaust fans

as for network  a 5 port   lan  router  one from the modem  then connect to 2 x   16 port switches

do  5 miners to a rasp pi3    put   6 rasp pi's on each switch  if the gear dies you can move all the rasp pi's to one switch.

Thanks @philipma1957!!, thats the kind of info I was looking for. Cheers
We have two 24" 24,000 CFM fans we were thinking of using somehow. I am seeing from your calculations, thats no where near enough to keep the pressure ratio correct.

Any suggestions??

@bdog1234 "Hope you are to too old - you might not live long enough to see them. "
 Grin Grin Grin Grin

I hope you hear back from them also. We are exploring GPU mining, but the cards are over priced locally, so we need to find bulk suppliers.

I just got an email from Canaan a few minutes ago as we requested their company registration info before wiring any money. Have you reached out to them? (sorry if a silly question), we have been very persistent with them, but always very pleasant.

Thanks @goose1072!

Hello all,

Im brand new to the forum and joined to ask for some opinions and feedback. We just placed an order for 60 Avalon 741's (if it's ever processed by Steve Tongue), and are planning to build a small farm with them. (we also ordered a couple L3+'s, four S9's and two D3's so far, but thats another story).

We hope to run ~55 Avalon 741's at any given time with plans for another bulk order, hoping for about 40BTC/year for a couple years while we can (insert sarcastic 'HA' here)

We have a steel prefab warehouse available, approx 750 sq-ft. We're installing a dry fire suppression system, 24hr security cams, there are guards on the compound, 30,000 btu HVAC with filters and exhaust fans.

I was told the warehouse is connected to 300w 3 phase power and is wired for 220v (IIRC)

Electricity is dirt cheap in my country (like 0.001 USD), and my business partner owns a fire/safety/electrical industrial (Oil/Gas) service company, so we have a certified electrician and network/IT admin assisting with the setup/networking.

I wanted to get some feedback/pointers/tips on:

Power Requirements
Network Requirements

Is there any special network hardware that may be needed to run 50+ miners? (or is it as simple as a simple LAN network, three 24 port switches and an internet connection??)

help an old guy out Smiley
Much appreciated.
