- First of, Rigs' temperature is too high.
You need to do something to reduce them to < 70'C

- If your cards are 8G, memclock 2100 is okay. But if they are 4G, 2100 is too high.
Well, it depends on how you flash your card as well.

- Some rigs restarted but some not, because some cards can do 2100 but some cannot.

- My rigs restart 1 or 2  time per month.

Good luck.

hello everybody, anyone knows why my rigs shut down continuously?

I am using SMOS in my rigs. In some cases the rigs shut down up to 50 times in under 24 hours. The motherboard's bios is set up to restart the rig once it looses power to the last state, meaning the rigs loop in a shut down/restart cycle that can go on for a while, sometimes more, sometimes less.

Hardware=

GPU: 6 x "XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition"
CPU: intel i3 8100
Motherboard: "gigabyte Z370 HD"

It worth notice that upon a lot or rigs with the same exact hardware in the same room, as you can see in the picture, the shut-down/restart process occurs from 2 to 48 times in less than a day. From what I know the rigs shouldn't shut down at all in normal condition. So, something is wrong. I don't know which should be the average rate for 24 hours per rig, if any.

I am using claymore-eth-v11.0 whit the following options: -wd 1 -r 1 -epool stratum+tcp://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal $walletETH/$rigName -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -asm 1 -mport 127.0.0.1:3333

Considerations:
1- The temperature could somehow trigger the process. The heat sensor could shut down the machine, the bios reboot the machine, the sensor still over the temperature threshold and shuts down again and so on. Sometimes after the cool down the vicious cycle continues though and sometimes the temperature doesn't justify the process.
2- When I detach all the raiser cables from the motherboard and unplug all the power cables from the PSU to the raisers and to the GPUs, the problem immediately stops and the rig doesn't shut down anymore. But of course, this is not a solution. Anyway this make me think the problem does not rely on the motherboard, CPU or RAM.
3- It could be that the raisers are damaged in some ways that I don't know, but the extent of the problem is so huge that I suppose it just couldn't be the case. Besides, I purchased them from at least 4 different vendors in amazon with good overall reviews.
4- It happens with both NVIDIA and AMD graphic cards.
5- My bios settings:
_Vtd: Disabled
_4g encoding: enabled
_power restore: "memory"
_internal graphic: disabled

the rest is on bios default mode

Questions:
1- What the hell am I doing wrong? I know people here seems to know a lot so help me out brothers! Smiley
2- How much is a normal shut down rate per day per rig? 0? 1? 10? Huh

To all the brothers out there, I ask for help

Hi citronick ,

I read that you are using xmr-stak, mining XMR, for your farm.
Could you tell me what is your SMOS setting on xmr-stak for RX580 or RX570 rig?

I would appreciate if you could.

Hello, finally, i did it works, the UI is really cool and easy, the hashrate is also OK.

BUT

with windows 10 my mine (6*RX580 8Gb) use 940 Watts (dual mine eth + xvg)

with HiveOS my mine use 1150 Watts with the same config !!!!

So thats 200W more with SMOS.

My config is perhaps bad :
Core MHz: 1150

Memory MHz: 2120

Core Undervolting: 840

Powerstage: 0

My rigs : Sapphire Nitro RX580 4G Elpida x 6 cards.

Core MHz: 1150
Memory MHz: 1975
Core Undervolting: 850
Powerstage: 3
ETH @ 171

My rigs use 720 Watts < Windows 770 Watts from the wall.

I thing you can try changing Power stage to 3 - 6.
Because Power stage is depended on flashing your vga.
Some cards need 4 but some need 5.

How to overclocking memory to its default flashed???

I have 6 of RX580 cards that can run on Windows with memory set 1950 , 1950 , 1900 , 1900 , 1875 , 1875.
Then I set up in SMOS in Overclocking page like 1950,1950,1900,1900,1875,1875.

When SMOS booth, I saw the card was not started in sequence like card no1, no2, no3, no4, no5, no6.
But it ran in no2, no6, no1, no5, no4, no3 and that cause rig restarted.

So, I desired to flash the card in what it can do.
Then I have no idea how to set SMOS to run the card on its default memory.

Anyone please guide me how to do.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I have a new rig with 6*RX580 8gb Sapphire special edition.

With only 5 GPU no problem with simpleMiningOS, but with 6 gpu, one of them (GPU3)  immedialty go to 0.00Mh/s so the rig is always rebooting.

What could be the problem ?

What is your setting?

Mining XMR is unstable restarting randomly 1 or 2 times a day.

I have 12 rigs mining XMR, claymore-xmr-v10.2 setting :
-xpool stratum+tcp://xmr-asia1.nanopool.org:14444 -xwal <wall>.$rigName/naemail@gmail.com -xpsw x

My rigs (RX470 and RX580) settings are
RX470 : Core 1105 / Mem 2000 / Core Undervolting 850 / Power stage 4
RX570 : Core 1150 / Mem 2000 / Core Undervolting 850 / Power stage 3
I use this setting to mine ETH and ETC with no problem, but XMR.

What is wrong with my setting?
Please.

Hi any updates regarding BTG mining ? I have checked every single pool and settings and nothing seems to work on SMOS

works fine with ewbf-0.3.4b
--server btg.suprnova.cc --user ****.$rigName --pass x --port 8816 --allpools

It’s not working with AMD

Sample

EWBF/NVDIA
--server btcg.miningspeed.com --user mxvc3oiidWytyQ2XoSrzT7GpPjUeC1guNt.$rigName --pass x --port 3092

Optiminer v1.7/AMD
-s btcg.miningspeed.com:3092 -u mxvc3oiidWytyQ2XoSrzT7GpPjUeC1guNt.$rigName -p x

Nice sample.

Do you have setting of BTCG for claymore-zec-v12.6?

I tried, but no luck Sad .

hey guys,

i just installed simplemining os and got it running. i got a 5*rx480 and 1*rx470 all 8g msi cards rig. can someone tell me the ideal overclocking settings on simplemining.net? cheers!

Try this :

Core MHz: 1100
Memory MHz: 2000,2000,2000,1975,1975,1975
Core Unvervolting: 800
Powerstage: 3
Target Temperature ℃: 71
Minimum Fan speed %: 80

Memory overclocking is depended on ram.

Hi guys, does overclocking in RX DagFix image work? I set Memory clock to 2250 and it literally does nothing. Memory Clock remains the same. Thank you for your reply.

Overclocking in RX DagFix works for me.

You can try:
- check gpu bios for memory speed and volt.
- increase Powerstage.

hi, i`d run a rig for 1 month and yesterday add a cupple o gpu rx580, now i`m getting there is no screen to be attached matching miner error. at the same time change for new dugfix version...? What could it be?
thanks in advance!!

Usually I reboot SMOS and the message goes away.
If it is not, try under overclocking.

Dagfix, you need to set up new Core Unvervolting and PowerState, overclocking screen.
Most of my setting is 850/3 (RX570/580), some 800/3 (RX470).

It is not difficult. You need just time to find the right setting for your rigs.

Hello guys,

Does anybody prepare for mining Bitcoin Gold, BTG?
It is coming on 25 October 2017.

Is it possible for mining BTG in SMOS?

Hello guys,

I am a new miner and have 20 rigs for now.

I love SimpleMining OS, so good, but have 1 question about reset Status.

One of my rigs was restarted because of unstable setting.

After fixing, it is not restarted anymore but it's status is ON(41).

How to reset the Status to ON(0)?

 Huh
