1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: August 01, 2018, 05:37:47 PM
well I have not received anything from the BTC I lost during the "security breach" and when I go to the website mentioned in the press release for external wallets I see nothing but my present mining statistics. It is all a big joke  would say. Also until today I have not seen any results of the famous police investivation...

The error message is quite clear isn't it?

Rig is rebooting due to system error. It could be caused by too much overclock/undervolt.

Weren't the autorities involved in investigating this infamous nicehash hack? Did they concede this hack never happened?

Nope, never heard of a such story. I call it a bullshit unless you can paste some proof about it.

Would you call this bullshit? https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cyber-nicehash/nicehash-says-attacked-probably-from-non-eu-ip-address-idUSKBN1E21Q7

"The Slovenian police told Reuters on Friday the investigation into the attack continued, adding no further details could be given at present."

At the press conference, the Assistant Director of the Criminal Police Directorate responded. He said that the police yesterday received a notification of the security breach.

“The investigation is intense, so we can not talk about the details, but qualified experts are dealing with it,” he said and said that it was a cross-border investigation with which the countries involved did not issue, as it could result in “destruction of evidence”.

Unofficially also Europol and Interpol are involved in the investigation.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Estimated price in investing in mining on: July 27, 2018, 01:40:49 PM
Can i ask what is the mininmun estimated price in investing in mining ? I want to invest in it

Depends on the coin and how you intend to do mining... ASIC or GPU miner... Minimum estimated price is kinda  vague, because it depends what you'd like to achieve. You can put together one el cheapo computer for maybe 500 dollars and you can possiby earn 1 dollar per day... Or you can invest 10000 dollars and buy some asics (if you are able to get any...).
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is 500 € enough to buy any of mining rigs? on: July 27, 2018, 01:35:40 PM
With 500 USD you can buy 1 GPU, el cheapo mainboard, CPU, memory and PSU. This system mining ETH will allow you to earn approx 1 usd per day depending on electricity cost. Hence at the moment I would consider it nonsense. Better to buy some coin and wait for a better exchange rate....
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: best profitable coin/algorithm to mine with AMD GPU on: July 27, 2018, 01:29:47 PM
Profitability depends on the price you pay for electricity and the exchange rate of the coin you are mining (changes every minute...). I mine ETH with a 13 x RX580 rig at 402 mh/s and electricity consumption of 1750 watt (cost of roughly 0.07 USD per kwh) giving me approx 13 USD profit per day at present.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Most profitable GPU mining rig Domino G12 on: July 20, 2018, 06:37:53 AM
415Mh/s with 12x RX 580? with that power consumption, I highly doubt it

I have a 13 RX580 rig with 402 mh/s and 1750W draw on the wall. Hence power consumption is possible. But max hashrate to squeeze out of one RX580 maybe 32 mh/s x 12 = 384 mh/s.

I run my RX580 sapphire nitro+ special edition with modded bios from anoraktech at the foll values set by overdriventool

GPU 1175 mHz / 850 mV
MEM 2200 mHz / 850 mV

Hashrate per card 31.5 mh/s at approx 110w on the wall

what mb do you have ? My windows is trash with 12 gpu installed.

Whom do you mean? I have the Asus B250 expert mining with 19 PCIE slots. Works great with max 13 cards of the same make....
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problem connecting 12 GPU in Windows10 on: July 18, 2018, 03:57:58 PM
I'm running 13 RX 480/580 8GB on Windows v1709 with the Adrenaline v18.71 drivers on a ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ moterboard with an i3 CPU, 8GB RAM and a 78 GB vitrual memory set. Windows does start to run a bit laggy when running more than 10 GPU's, but it's not too bad and otherwise runs stable.

Do a clean install of Windows 1709 with only a single GPU in the primary x16 PCI-E slot. After the install is finished, on the first logon disable Windows feature updates in gpedit. On Windows 10 Pro you can set a Group Policy to defer feature updates until they have been targeted for business deployment, which is about 4 months after the public release, or you can also defer feature updates for up to 365 days. This way you still get the security updates.

gpedit ==> Computer Configuration ==> Administrative Templates ==> Windows Components ==> Windows Updates ==> Windows Update for Business ==> Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are Received ==> Set to 'enabled' and  in the drop down select 'Semi-Annual Channel'.

Then run Windows Update to get the latest updates and reboot. Go back in to gpedit and disable driver updates to keep Windows Update from modifying your drivers.

gpedit ==> Navigate to: Computer Configuration ==> Administrative Templates ==> Windows Components ==> Windows Update and set 'Do not include drivers with Windows Update' to enabled.

Download the latest driver for your GPU's and run DDU in safe mode to remove the Windows installed driver and disable automatic driver installation when prompted by DDU. Shutdown, install the rest of the GPU's and then run the GPU driver setup. After the driver setup is finished (it will take >20 minutes with 13 cards). If you have any RX 570 or 480 cards with a modded Bios you will also need to run the pixel patcher to disable the driver signature check.

https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

I also go in to Windows Apps from the settings to uninstall all the extra Windows crapware and disable all the Windows spyware in the Privacy settings.

Absolutely great summary and I have gone almost exactly the same route. But on top I have used the so called amd compute switcher... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2815803.0
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine with old desktop? on: July 18, 2018, 01:34:55 PM
On Ethereum (ethash) one RX580 card will generate approx 1 dollar per day based on present exchange rates. It is easy to calculate how long it might take to get your money back...
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is Good to mine now? on: July 15, 2018, 11:10:14 PM
Mining BTC with GPUs is a very bad idea as you cannot compete against asic miners. It is however not a bad idea to mine Ethereum or another altcoin and get paid in BTC... Which nicehash does.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is Good to mine now? on: July 15, 2018, 10:43:24 AM
With these cards I would point my rigs to nicehash.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash DaggerHashimoto efficiency on: July 15, 2018, 10:41:43 AM
I have one rig with 13 RX580 cards. 402 mh/s at electricity costs of 0.07 USD per kwh. Profitability on daggerhashimoto (ethash) as per today is 14 usd. Not great but gives me around USD 420 per month.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power issues on: July 15, 2018, 08:18:14 AM
You need to modify the BIOS and undervolt your GPUs by a suitable aux software like overdriventool. My 13 RX580 rig draws 1750W on the wall. around 150 is for MOBO/CPU and the GPUs each about 120W per card under full load.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Did something happen with ETH Mining? on: July 15, 2018, 08:12:18 AM
why don't you have a look at the logs of your miners and check the pools you are mining on? I am continuously mining ETH without any problems.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash DaggerHashimoto efficiency on: July 15, 2018, 07:31:32 AM
Alexandre, by 970 you mean the GEFORCE GTX970? That is an old GPU and not good for daggerhashimoto (ethash). To mine ethash you should have a RX570/580. But even with that and a modified GPU at the moment you can achieve only about 1 USD per day for 1 card.... On any other algorithm like cryptonight or equihash it will be even less. particularly with one GTX970.
