Is it possible to do this without reimaging?

Thanks

There's a work around u can do to have it work for now but you will need to reetch eventually

Type in shell or quake
sudo apt-get install nvidia-384:amd64=384.98-0ubuntu0~gpu16.04.1

Then
sudo apt-get install libcuda-9.0-1

Hi! tell me please how to switch to default repo after I was looking for workaround and added this repo sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers
so now cant do your instructions ((

Thank you in advance
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [OS] nvOC easy-to-use Linux Nvidia Mining v0019-1.4 on: December 13, 2017, 09:46:51 PM
on 1.4 everything worked OK.
after update I have:

1. current version:

nvOC_1bash_ver="v0019-2.0.001"   # Do not edit this

2. Auto temp is OFF, because it reboots rig immediately

3. Wdog starts, but have to ctrl+c, otherwise it restarts miner and after that restarts rig:

Mon Dec 11 19:37:02 MST 2017 - reboot in 10 seconds

4. If I ctrl+c wdog, than miner continues working as if nothing happened:

I think leenoox solved 1050 ti
Open 5watchdog and check if you have v0009
Code:
# v=0009 : leenoox: Workaround for some 1050's reporting "Unknown" or "ERR" when power.draw is queried from nvidi-smi

if not update to latest by running the latest update script again

Can you update to the latest version as papampi suggested and post if it's working after the update. If not I will revisit this again.

Also please post the output from
Code:
./nvOC gpuinfo
and version of 5watchdog and 6tempcontrol

Thanks

Hi leenox,
expireincing almost same problem (just with wdog problem, autotemp is ok), check pls my screenshot at http://prntscr.com/hn5lhy
tired looking for the problem...

Sure. The easiest way to figure out what functions it supports is to just run it:
Code:
m1@Miner3:~$./nvOC
Usage:  ./nvOC clearlogs
clears out OS & nvOC logs
        ./nvOC gpuinfo
displays GPU ID, infomation, settings, and status
        ./nvOC patch
stops nvOC and applies outstanding Ubuntu patches and
           Nvidia driver updates
        ./nvOC reboot
           reboots the host machine
        ./nvOC stop
stops mining, watchdog and temperature control
        ./nvOC start
           starts normal nvOC mining operations
        ./nvOC help
displays help about using and configuring nvOC for mining
The feature that I think will be most useful is gpuinfo which shows what GPUs you have including the settings like power and OC:
Code:
m1@Miner3:~$./nvOC gpuinfo
ID,VENDOR,MODEL,PSTATE,TEMP,FAN,UTILIZATION,POWER,POWERLIMIT,MAXPOWER,GPUCLOCK,MEMCLOCK
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0,EVGA,GeForce GTX 1070,P2,48,50,100,113.66,115.00,170.00,1822,4303
1,EVGA,GeForce GTX 1070,P2,41,50,100,86.99,115.00,170.00,1569,4303
2,EVGA,GeForce GTX 1070,P2,54,50,100,112.74,115.00,170.00,1847,4303
3,MSI,GeForce GTX 1080 Ti,P2,68,75,100,243.26,250.00,330.00,1911,5556
The current implementation is not complete. For example, the help function is just stubbed out. We plan to complete this, add more, and refine existing functions in future releases.

Enjoy.

Hi, looks like
Code:
./nvOC stop

works
but
Code:
./nvOC start

does not start anything...nothing going on except the help screen
Could you please check that?

Thank you in advance,
Respectfully,
Serg

I am testing WTM SWITCHER with 3 coins and I have to show you that miner restarts anyway if COIN STAYS THE SAME.

Check it pls here http://prntscr.com/hl9ud0

I think if we're not changing coin we dont have to kill and start mining process again

Can I ask the difference between your miner hash rate and pool hash rate with vertminer ?

See the difference on miningpoolhub.com mining with vertminer:

So I wouldnt use this information as a stats for choosing miner, cuz pools are different, pools are counting your hashrate by their own algos, they maybe different I think
If I would choosing the best miner for specific coin I would check actual amount mined in period of time with almost same difficulty...thats my point.

Sure, but I will tell you just tomorrow, cuz building, testing, stopping, changing params at the moment to find out the best config for my strix 1080.
And 2 more things:
  • to build vertminer - we have to change bn.h at /usr/local/include/openssl
  • pool hashrate on a single card looks to me not that stable as on the rig with 10+ cards...but anyway I will let you know

Yup I know the bn.h trick
I tried vertminer and it gave me 80 MH/s on pool while miner shows 110, tpruvot 2.2.3 shows 113 on miner side and 90 on pool side
Alexis gives most on miner and half on pool , going crazy to find the best miner ...lol

your story just better than mine, cuz vertminer is the only one which is not crashing after start on VTC & MONA ... lol...All the rest just dont work with Asus Strix 1080

Hi, what about full support of Asus b250 mining expert.

What does it mean "partly supported"?

Is it a hard limit of 13 standard GPU + 6 P106? or will be possible to use 19 regular GPU?

My mobo does not even post bios messages when Iam inserting 14th regular GPU

Could anybody comment on this?

Thank you in advance!

Have you attached 3rd PSU?
One PSU = 7 GPU
Two PSU's = 13 GPU
Three PSU's = 19 GPU

Partial support means that not all GPU's can be overclocked, first 16 GPU can be overclocked, last 3 GPU will work on stock settings. See the post from two pages back regarding TB250

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.msg23785755#msg23785755
I have attached just 1 PSU (3000watt) and attached 13 regula GPUs - they are fine, but when I am attaching 14th GPU - mobo does not even post any messages and does not start at all.
And I am talking about *REGULAR* GPUs, not P106!
Did anybody start this mobo with 14 and more *REGULAR* GPUs ? NOT P106

Thank you

Hello

ZM_Miner gives 350Sol/s but EWBF gives 560 Sol/s on my 1080

That seems to me happening only on my Asus b250 mining expert MoBo with 13 GPU installed, other boards (Asus Prime Z270-A with 9 GPU and old Gigabyte with 5 GPU) are ok.

Is it a bug in ZM?

Thank you
Better ask in dstm page
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0

I think its not just about DSTM, I tested right now system following way:
1. when I leave just 10 asus strix 1080 in asus b250 mining expert - it works like a charm: load average is around 3
2. when I put 11 same card, load average goes up to 15
3. when I put 13 same card, load average goes up to 100 and everything is crazy slow...
I have latest version of nvoc 19-1.3
Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

Had a similar issue once. I needed a better CPU. I was using a super cheap CPU and needed more PCIE express lanes for all the cards to function properly.

Better to know for sure before buying one more CPU )) Yes, I have super cheap G3930 CPU.
Can anybody proove it, please?
Thank you in advance!

Friend of mine is running an Asus Mining Expert as well with 7x 1070's and he's not having that issue with ZM.

I am using http://zcash.flypool.org
Maybe problem with card quantity, I will try less
