Betting games especially sports betting can really surprise you because even though the game's odd are all laid off and there's already a predicted winner, tables might turn near the end of the game. It's not something someone can really tell because there's always a slightest chance of winning to those behind.

The underdog might be able to take home the title without anyone really expecting. It's a mix of luck and strategy for the team and a matter of possessing the right knowledge and odds favor for you. It will depend on how you will assess and analyze their record and the game itself and how the team will lift themselves to make it to their goal.

I don't think there is luck here. It's just that when an outsider wins, it's always a surprise, because before that, in similar games, the favorite won many times. But the favorite is not strong enough to win 10 games out of 10 or 100 out of 100. Therefore, draws and defeats of the favorite are natural (when they happen rarely). I think if we transfer the analogy to chess, then any grandmaster has a chance to beat Carlsen in one of 10 games, but for example, I don’t have a single chance even in 1000 games. It's a matter of balance of power. When the favorite wins, it is natural, but it cannot always win, because outsiders can do something too.

An old tradition which also been legalized from some places in a small third world country, it's hard to remove that old culture where the enjoyment has been part of this kind of gambling.

I understand the point about animal cruelty but for those who are engaged in this culture
they only understand what they've believed. It's tough for them to change as they will continue
to participate and keep betting on this kind of gambling.

It seems to me that there is no need to prohibit such entertainments and to ensure that they die out by force. Culture is inevitably changing (and it has been happening at a rapid pace in recent decades) so these forms of entertainment will naturally become a thing of the past. As far as I know, bullfighting was banned in Spain after, in fact, public interest in it had fallen sharply. When cockfighting becomes not part of the culture but a marginalized entertainment, then it will be relevant to completely ban it.

Nantes is a low tier team. I see that if juventus can beat it easily. I will always take juventus in the match against nantes. Seeing a top club from serie a to face a low tier team like nantes makes me believe if juventus can win with so many scores against nantes. I don't wanna underrated nantes but the truth has been saying the fact if nantes was nothing compared with juventus in term of statistic of something else. Nantes will be stopped by juventus in the europa league and juventus will able to pass nantes without any problem.

I agree with your assessment (except that Juventus will definitely win - underdogs sometimes win). Now in Ligue 1 there is one top club - PSG and all the rest. Among the rest there are good teams but they are not comparable to the tops of Serie A and Juventus despite its problems are still top. But as I wrote above, underdogs sometimes win, and especially in elimination games, as it requires a little bit of luck for just two games.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 27, 2022, 02:04:09 PM
Online casinos and sports betting platforms are big businesses like we all know, and currently considering the economic situation of things around the world many businesses are affected and have been taking measures to cut costs in terms of reducing staff, taking loans etc to still be able to sustain operations. How do you think online casinos and sports betting platforms are adjusting to manage the situation?

If closing a business and then reopening it (when the situation improves) is much more expensive than keeping it afloat during the crisis, then I think most projects will take measures to save money and even operate at a small loss but will not close. Those who survive the crisis will subsequently receive more market share and more profits. No one knows the duration of the crisis and its depth, so such planning has risks and, in a sense, is gambling. So we see a rare case where casinos gamble, hahaha.

Costa Rica kept their hopes of World Cup knockout alive by defeating Japan. Costa Ricans lost 7-0 against Spain with a huge margin and won 1-0 that day. But despite the loss, the Samurai Blues still have a chance to advance to the next round. Japan and Costa Rica spend the first half in a frenzy. In the first half, neither team could create any real chances. As a result, a goalless scoreline accompanied them before the break. Early in the second half of the match, Japan overpowered Costa Rica. But they could not get the desired goal even after attacking one after the other. On the contrary, they sat digesting one goal. In the 81st minute, Keisha Fuller scored a Konakuni shot from Tejeda's pass. This resulted in 1 goal and that goal earned Costa Rica the win. All the players of Costa Rica cheered and all the spectators were very happy after this victory.

Probably no one expected that Costa Rica, after losing 0-7 to Spain and after Japan defeated Germany, would be able to win today's game, but it happened. If we make comparisons through the results of the games, it turns out that Spain, which defeated Costa Rica, is stronger than Germany, since Costa Rica is stronger than Japan, which is stronger than Germany. I wonder if we will see a close game today in the game Spain - Germany or will it be an easy victory for Spain?
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: African teams at Qatar. on: November 26, 2022, 01:39:39 PM
Only 4 people answered to the poll, assuming the other members didn't pay attention to it. So it is "None" or Senegal or Ghana.
Senegal was the only team to get 3 points among African teams but this only happened in the second round vs weak Qatar. Their next game vs Ecuador will tell which team will progress between them but honestly Ecuador is very powerful and should not be underestimated. They showed better performance vs Netherlands than their game vs Qatar, it will not be an easy game for Senegal at all.
For the other teams, their mission is harder..

In the first round, all the African teams performed poorly, so this was an additional factor in not voting - not a very interesting choice when the most likely correct result is "None". Now it is clear that Senegal has the best chances, although they need a victory over a strong Ecuador, it is still more real than two victories for Cameroon or Ghana. In general, it turns out that after each round there is practically no intrigue.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: November 26, 2022, 12:43:08 PM
True that. As @South Park has pointed out below: "The only strategy that works on games that are completely luck based are money management strategies". I totally agree with this.

It depends on what meaning to invest in the word "works". If it's about making a profit (as most people mean when they talk about gambling strategies) then money management doesn't work. If it's about increasing the time of playing sessions or about avoiding the rapid loss of the entire deposit, then it works. And of course money management works in the sense that it is used to set a maximum gambling budget for example for a month/week in order to avoid uncontrollable losses.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Would a Nation of Sports Gamblers Look Like? on: November 26, 2022, 12:31:21 PM
In my opinion gambling should always be legal in a country. Having a nation wide ban on gambling is wrong as it will never remove gambling complete from society. The only thing that a ban is going to do is shifting it not hiding from the government. Private underground casinos will pop up and still satisfy the demand for gambling and sports betting. The government is missing out on taxes and also will not offer a legal framework for the citizens. It should be every persons choice to decide if he wants to engage in gambling or not. And as long as it's legal a gambler doesn't need to be afraid that he will scammed out of his winnings, he has the law on his side. In my country sports betting is a big market and is part of the culture over here, if politicans would try to ban it then there would be a public outcry. As for the metaverse I think it's the future and will be a big part for people watching sports, betting and engaging with each other while sitting on the couch at home. I would only be wearing a costume in the metaverse if I am getting paid for it. It feels a bit like making a promotion on Facebook or Instagram, as everybody else is going to see you with it. And a company should offer some goodies or monetary reward for people to promote their business.

I agree about the ban - it never solves the problem (if there is one at all) and only worsens things for the people whom the ban is supposed to protect. As for the Metaverse, you argue logically, but corporations have long switched to a model where users do everything themselves and also pay for it themselves, so I would not expect that the development of the Metaverses will take a different path. Of course, 0.001% of all users will receive some kind of compensation for their activity, but the rest will not.

-skip-
This kind of gambling is always fun because these animals fights in the circle of human, have you been involved in this kind of animal gambling or have you watched such game before. Can such game be in the casino?

It all looks very outdated. At least for me, who has never experienced such events in real life. Maybe in countries where it is a tradition it will remain relevant but in other countries it will definitely not become popular (and legal) as it is cruel entertainment. And to be honest, it’s hard for me to imagine a modern young person who has a smartphone, internet, etc. who will go to watch the rams bumping their foreheads.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 25, 2022, 03:22:44 PM
FIFA won't ever find anything because they are getting the biggest piece from the bribe pie.

Qatar spent ~$220 billion for this world cup.

Have you ever thought, how a country like Qatar, which is against every western value, has no football stadium, has a complete shit football team, hosting a world cup?

Did you think FIFA let them be the host for free?

How many billions did the FIFA got from Qatar as a bribe?

Even Blatter admitted that Qatar won the right to host the World Cup through corruption. In general, there are a lot of officials in football and therefore there is a lot of corruption. I read that PSG's financial injection was part of a scheme that made Qatar host the World Cup - Qatar bought fighter jets from France for many billions of dollars, bought PSG and poured huge money into it. This is corruption of the highest level and I don't know how ordinary people can deal with it.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Distortion Pattern on: November 25, 2022, 03:16:56 PM
some say the difference between the poison and the medicine is the dosage
supposing someone can control themselves and gambling is just something they do for entertainment, not an addictive behavior, it should be fine

but I'd agree with you that most of the times it's not like that.

Perhaps this is a subjective impression, since we do not know all the statistics, and the news is mostly negative. For example, we can easily see a news report about how someone lost everything in gambling and killed himself, but we never read the news about how "John Smith visited the casino today, drank a couple of glasses of beer and after a couple of card sessions went home satisfied".
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: November 25, 2022, 02:42:45 PM
I think money laundering if done is done through mixers more than is done in casinos although people may use casinos for small amounts which really is not considered money laundering. The casinos may serve a good purpose in making your coins anonymous as you can deposit to them through a wallet and receive money in a brand new wallet that you create and the tx id is different because the money is coming from a wallet of that casino, that is the maximum people can use casinos but criminals to launder money through them I find it hard to believe.

I think that the real money laundering is to ensure that the right person gets their hands on a completely legal fiat. "Winning" from the casino is still gray money, since you have to declare it and pay taxes (different conditions in different countries), so it seems to me that those who launder amounts of money at least a little more than small ones use other schemes.

Well, the coach of the Brazilian national team is optimistic about Neymar and says that he will still play at this World Cup. According to the team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, Neymar's sprained ankle was treated too early immediately after the end of the match, I hope that he will still continue playing at the WC.

Source: https://apnews.com/article/world-cup-sports-soccer-social-media-2a20360c6b02b0fd4035831ff13e781f

It seems to me that the worst thing that can happen to Neymar is that he will have to miss a couple of games, this is a minor injury and should not lead to more significant consequences. Brazil already have 3 points and in the remaining two games of the group stage they need to win at least once - this is an easy task given that their opponents are not so strong, so there is no danger that the absence of Neymar will be important. And to be honest, I think Brazil, even without Neymar, will score 7 or 9 points in the group.

And finally, Ghana became the first African team to score a goal in the world in Qatar but yet they were defeated by a strong Portuguese team with two late goals coming from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao. The performance of Ghana was disappointing in the first half because they were not allowed to control the game and they couldn't get a single shot on target but immediately Ronaldo converted that penalty to a goal the Ghana team became motivated and they possessed the ball and finally got rewarded by a beautiful goal from their star player Andre Ayew. Ghana managed to score two goals but their goals couldn't get them a point because the Portuguese team were already two goals ahead of them.

The Portuguese goalkeeper wanted to help Ghana (a joke, but it looked terrible), but Williams rushed too much and did not use a 100% chance in the 9th added minute. A very strange game. Initially, it looked like Ghana had given up early and would sit on the defensive for the entire game, hoping that Portugal wouldn't be able to score many goals. But after the turmoil with the "accidental" return goal, Ghana became more active and even at 3-1 they continued to go forward and found their chance to score a second goal. Ghana did well, but Portugal surprised me with their nervousness - at the end of the game they killed time as much as they could and in general did not make a solid impression.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much was your last big win? on: November 24, 2022, 07:27:08 PM
I don't know about this, it's hard for me to say because it's very rare to get big profits in gambling games, especially when I always gamble in sportsbooks.
But for other gambling maybe I will include this as one of my biggest wins by managing to get approximately $140 from slots and that is my biggest win by buying $3 in a slot game.
I've never had this happen again because apart from rarely playing in slots because I'm always in the sportsbook, I'm also probably too insecure and don't really expect something like this to come again.

Same. To have big winnings, you need to make big bets (or bet on very high odds and then the winnings will be very rare). I only gamble for symbolic amounts of money so my winnings are also small. If I remember correctly, my biggest win was about 5 mbtc and it was a win from sports betting (multi-bet on some random events that I didn’t even understand).

Ronaldo does not have the chances to return to Real Madrid. His days in Real Madrid are gone and he should know this. Real Madrid are planning to half young strikers to help the team and not old Ronaldo.
Besides, Benzema is only injured and not dead, he can recover before the world cup ends. Ronaldo himself will not want to be a second option to someone he was first option to. He will rather resign

Journalists invent any options for continuing Ronaldo's career to attract readers. Given that he has terminated his contract with Manchester United and is now a free agent, until the very signing of a new contract we will see a lot of similar headlines. Of course I wonder where he will go, but during the World Cup it doesn't seem so important. Maybe his World Championship performance will affect the number and quality of options he will have.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2022 Group Stage Highlights on: November 23, 2022, 09:41:33 AM
Absolutely right.

The Argentinians never really seemed to learn and adapt to what was happening. The Saudis performed the offside trap flawlessly multiple times.

Also the whole stadium was booing Argentina which probably wasn't something they are used to, bringing morale even lower.

Argentina was of course way better technically speaking, each player has amazing skills, but the Saudis won with pure tactic.

On the one hand, Argentina had to do something about Saudi Arabia's offside tactics, but on the other hand, it is almost impossible to change team play during the game. I think that the best decision on the part of the coach would be to instruct the players to try to attack using individual qualities, sacrificing team play. Given the large advantage in this indicator on the part of Argentina, this could bring success.

It's okay what was said in the article dude, and everything mentioned is true. It's just that addiction only starts when a gambler experiences frequent wins by a player.

Of course, when we always experience winning, we will search for it, and we will no longer think about losing gambling, instead, we will not notice that the value of what we lose eventually increases until it becomes difficult to get out of it. a gambling addict in this regard.

In fact, the addiction occurs when the player was close to winning, but lost. At this moment, the "pursuit" mechanism is activated and the player continues to play until he wins (or he runs out of money). The achieved win eventually brings positive emotions and the player becomes addicted for this reason also, but in fact, addiction occurs before the win itself. Perhaps this is inherent in us by nature, since biologically we are hunters.
