KYC

Serenity has completed the development of its new product for business customers: SerenityPay.io. The transparent and regulated service for fast fiat-to-crypto exchange is ready for the first clients.
Serenity offers a convenient service that allows individuals to quickly buy cryptocurrency. Any website can integrate SerenityPay into their platform and expand their available payment options.

Regulation
The goal of Serenity is to provide a transparent and legal way to exchange fiat to cryptocurrency. All operations are conducted with Serenity — a legal entity registered in Estonia and licensed to conduct cryptocurrency exchange activity. This means that Serenity guarantees the transparency and legitimacy of transactions to regulators and banks.
Thanks to this, SerenityPay has an advantage over OTC transaction services that are not transparent and do not bear the risk of a customer becoming a victim of a rogue merchant. Clients cannot be 100% sure that they will receive cryptocurrency in return for the money transferred from their bank cards.
The key difference of buying cryptocurrency through SerenityPay compared to OTC transactions is in the fact that the client is buying cryptocurrency from Serenity, a company regulated by a European financial regulator, rather than from an unknown source with an origin of cryptocurrency whose legitimacy can be doubted by banks, or who may be blacklisted, which would result in blocked accounts and funds. Moreover, the client buys cryptocurrency with a bank card rather than through a money transfer and can file a complaint in case of a problem. All this provides guarantees for all participants of a transaction.
KYC
To ensure smooth interaction with banks and prevent fraud, SerenityPay uses a simple KYC procedure (Know Your Customer) by the certified provider Sum And Substance Ltd. All data of SerenityPay users is stored on secure servers with limited access.

Basic Attention Token (BAT) has been added to Serenity Exchange, increasing the number of pairs available for trading to 23.
Listed on Serenity Exchange, Basic Attention Token has become available for buying and selling by clients. According to its developers, BAT is a utility token. It can be used for advertising and publicity services on the BAT platform.

Why the market needs so many crypto exchanges
Anton Vasin, CBDO of the blockchain project Serenity, talked about his experience at Blockchain Life 2019, Europe’s largest cryptocurrency and blockchain forum, and explained why there can’t be too many crypto exchanges on the market.
This October, at Blockchain Life 2019, blockchain project Serenity presented the White Label of a cryptocurrency exchange, as well as a cryptocurrency exchanger, margin trading platform and blockchain escrow technology for Forex brokers, all of which was met with great enthusiasm from the attendees. Despite the fact that a good part of the forum participants were crypto exchanges — which reflects the current market situation — new startups continue to create more platforms and build infrastructure around them.
Aren’t there too many crypto exchanges already?
Crypto exchanges are commonly known to be part of the industry with the most intense competition. One might even think that the supply grossly exceeds the demand. However, the real market isn’t done with new crypto exchanges yet. Under the conditions of fierce competition, most crypto exchange startups don’t survive. In an emerging market, it’s a natural process.
Traders are natural cleaners of the market
One of the main tendencies in today’s cryptocurrency trading is the departure from a fundamental analysis of crypto asset prices in favor of the classic types of mathematical or technical analysis. Due to this, various kinds of automation — like EAs — are getting more popular, which effectively increases the number of traders.
With so many exchanges offering the same instruments on the underdeveloped market, arbitration becomes the most progressive sphere. It can exist both within one exchange and between several different ones. The more such arbitrators there are, the stronger the overall interconnection is, while the liquidity becomes free-flowing and universal. It ultimately propels the development of the whole market and protects it from sharp swings. One of the solutions offered by Serenity — liquidity aggregation–also works towards the pooling of liquidity.
How exchanges compete for clients
Young startups are rarely able to offer something that would lure clients from the top exchanges like Binance, Kraken, Bitfinex. However, a new exchange can create something unique to carve out a certain niche and draw the attention of a particular audience. For example, Serenity opted for building a community of experienced Forex traders. A whole ecosystem was created around the blockchain escrow for OTC markets. One of its elements is the crypto exchange that can operate as a separate unit while remaining an integral part of the ecosystem.
The central feature of Serenity.Exchange is the liquidity aggregation. It allows traders to buy or sell major cryptocurrencies at any time even with no buyers or sellers on the exchange. The competition within the sphere of blockchain technology also has a positive impact on trading. Right now, one of the key elements of any startup exchange is market-making (Serenity substitutes it with liquidity aggregation, which is more technologically advanced and less costly). With market making or aggregation and strong support of trading instruments, it’s possible to provide service on par with the most successful exchanges. It’s important to recognize the market tendencies a bit faster than your competitors and act on them in time. Moreover, a small exchange can integrate a new high-demand service much faster. This is what allows them to be in the competition and see the growing demand for their products.

The team of Serneity.Financial presented an ecosystem of unique products for Forex brokers, blockchain startups and traders at Blockchain Life 2019 in Moscow.
Serenity.Financial became a Platinum sponsor of Blockchain Life 2019, Europe’s largest cryptocurrency industry event that took place in Moscow on October 16th–17th. During the two days, the expo was attended by over 4,800 participants from the spheres of blockchain, mining, and cryptocurrency. The forum has exceeded all expectations in terms of the keenness of interest towards the world of cryptocurrency.

In the first day of Blockchain Life 2019, the range of Serenity products was expanded by a margin trading platform and Serenity.Pay, an exchanger that accepts transfers from bank cards.
The subject of the most intense interest among the expo participants was the new exchanger Serenity.Pay which works both in a bundle with the exchange Serenity.Exchange and separately. The exchanger accepts fiat currencies from the bank cards Visa and MasterCard. Currently the platform supports BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT, and GUSD. Serenity.Pay can be used to make deposits into Serenity.Exchange accounts with regular bank cards.
“It is of utmost importance to us that any client with an ordinary fiat bank card can make a deposit into their account on the cryptoexchange and the margin trading platform,” commented a co-founder of Serenity Financial Anton Vasin.
The margin trading platform Margin.Serenity.Exchange significantly expands the trading capabilities of the exchange. Margin trading provides traders with access to larger amounts of funds for trading than have on their balance.
Specifically for management of margin trading accounts, Serenity team has developed a convenient personal area, ready for use by both traders and partners.
Both platforms are available as White Label. And to celebrate their release, Serenity.Exchange cuts trading commission from 0.2% to 0.1%. These conditions are valid until December 31st, 2019.
The team also presented a unique smart contract-based blockchain escrow designed to increase trust between traders and brokers both in Forex and cryptocurrency industry.
According to the CTO of Serenity Financial Vasily Alexeev, blockchain technology has been having an increasingly strong influence on financial markets. Alexeev attributes it to the fact that blockchain ensures the security and irreversibility of transactions. He notes that smart contracts automates the processes that had to be conducted manually before: today, even the most conservative banks are starting to replace letters of credit with smart contracts.
“There are governmental organizations that deal with claims in Forex, but they all have a significant drawback: they can’t force Forex brokers to comply with a decision that is not in their favor. If a company refuses to pay, the independent regulator doesn’t really have an influence over them. This is a defining feature of Serenity: having predetermined the conditions of a smart contract, the funds will be transferred to the client automatically if their claim is well-founded.
“This is how it works: the money goes to the smart contract and can be transferred only to two parties: the broker or the trader. In order to withdrawal to take place, both parties have to agree on the receiving party. If a client has a claim, the broker can’t withdraw the funds, and vice versa. In such case, Serenity reviews the dispute and approves or rejects the request. At least one party has to agree with this decision, and the funds will be transferred either to the trader or the broker. Another important aspect of such system is that the money can’t be withdrawn by any other party, for example by Serenity, since the blockchain technology doesn’t allow to retroactively change the transaction,” tells Vasily Alexeev.
In May 2019, the Serenity team launched a cryptocurrency exchange that aggregates liquidity from major exchanges. This platform is also available as a White Label.
“Development of the cryptocurrency exchange is one of the most important areas of focus for us. In particular, we are working to merge the personal area of the exchange with Escrow and the partner section. We’re also in the process of developing a loyalty program for all products of our ecosystem,” said Anton Vasin.
Aside from the new developments, the team of Serenity rewarded their colleagues with a giveaway of warm prizes. CBDO блокчейн-проекта Serenity Антон Васин поделился впечатлениями от крупнейшего в Европе форума по криптовалютам и блокчейну Blockchain Life 2019 и рассказал, почему много криптобирж на рынке не бывает.
Наша команда побывала на крупнейшем в Европе мероприятии, посвященному блокчейн-технологиям и криптовалютам — Blockchain Life 2019 в Москве. На выставку мы поехали с презентацией сразу нескольких проектов, объединенных в одну экосистему Serenity. Туда входит криптобиржа, крипто-фиатный обменник, платформа для маржинальной торговли и технология блокчейн-эскроу для форекс-брокеров. Все это, в том числе криптобиржу, мы предлагаем и в качестве White Label.
На форуме было представлено довольно много криптовалютных бирж. И тем не менее, мы отметили и высокий интерес к White Label биржи Serenity.
Казалось бы — куда еще больше криптобирж?
Не секрет, что это наиболее конкурентное направление в индустрии. Может создаться впечатление, что предложение на рынке превышает спрос. Однако реальный рынок еще не наполнен криптобиржами. В условиях конкуренции за своего клиента, большинство стартапов с криптобиржами не выживают. Это нормальный процесс, когда формируется новый рынок.
Трейдеры — «санитары» рынка
При большом количестве бирж с одинаковыми инструментами, но еще не сформированным до конца самим рынком, самое развивающееся направление — это арбитраж. Его можно делать как внутри одной биржи, так и между несколькими биржами. Чем больше будет таких арбитражников, тем взаимосвязь между биржами будет выше и ликвидность будет везде перетекающей и единой. Это позволит ускориться всему рынку и защитит его от резких скачков. Кстати, наше решение — агрегация ликвидности — также способствует объединению ликвидности.
Основные тенденции торговли криптовалютами стали уходить от фундаментального анализа цен на криптоактивы в классические виды математического или технического анализа. Благодаря этому набирает популярность автоматизация и торговля с помощью роботов, что расширяет количество участников торгов.
Как биржи борются за клиентов?
Молодому стартапу сложно предложить что-то, чтобы переманивать клиентов из топовых бирж, таких как Binance, Kraken, Bitfinex. Но при этом новая биржа может дать какие-то свои фишки, чтобы занять определенную нишу и заинтересовать конкретные сегменты аудитории. Он отметил, что смарт-контракты автоматизируют процессы, которые традиционно производились вручную: так, сейчас даже самые консервативные банки начали внедрять замену аккредитивов смарт-контрактами.
«Существуют негосударственные компании, которые занимаются рассмотрением претензий на рынке форекс, но у них есть существенный минус. Они не могут заставить форекс-брокеров исполнить невыгодное для себя решение. Если организация отказывается платить, то такой независимый регулятор повлиять на него никак не может. В этом важное отличие Serenity. Задав условия смарт-контракта, средства поступают клиенту автоматически, если претензия последнего обоснована.
Как это работает: деньги попадают на смарт-контракт и могут быть выведены с него только в двух направлениях – либо брокеру, либо трейдеру. Чтобы вывод произошел, нужно, чтобы обе стороны были согласны. Если у клиента есть претензия, брокер себе деньги забрать не сможет — и наоборот. В случае такого разногласия Serenity рассматривает спор, подтверждает либо отклоняет заявку. С этим решением должно быть согласие хотя бы одной из двух сторон. Деньги могут отправиться либо брокеру, либо клиенту. Важно отметить, что какой-то третьей стороне, например, Serenity, средства уйти не могут, потому что технология блокчейн не подразумевает внесение каких-либо изменений в транзакцию задним числом», — рассказал Василий Алексеев.
В мае 2019 года команда Serenity также запустила криптовалютную биржу с агрегацией ликвидности с топовых бирж. Кроме того, компания предлагает и White Label на все свои продукты, в том числе биржу и криптообменник.

What is liquidity aggregation and how it benefits the market?
Understanding the intricacies of the cryptocurrency market is no easy task. There are plenty of sources available, but it’s difficult to find plain and comprehensive articles that explain the work of cryptocurrency exchanges, trading process, subtle factors influencing the cryptocurrency rates, etc. Understanding all of this is crucial to successful cryptocurrency trading.
One important process in the cryptocurrency market is the liquidity aggregation. Some exchanges sell liquidity, others buy it, but what does it all mean for traders?
Most pieces devoted to liquidity aggregation are targeted either at finance professionals and are written in a complex industry vernacular; or at potential buyers of liquidity and are focused on selling rather than informing.
We set off to repair this injustice and lay down in plain terms what the liquidity aggregation is and why the entire market will benefit from using it.
What is liquidity aggregation
Liquidity aggregation is a process of gathering buy and sell orders from different sources and directing them to the executing party. The purpose of aggregation is to provide traders with an opportunity to buy an asset at prices close to market average.
Since the cryptocurrency market is extremely volatile, various platforms may offer different prices for the same asset. Imagine three exchanges: A. B and C which offer BTC at prices ranging from $10,000 to $10,300. A trader wants to buy BTC, but there are only orders with prices higher than $10,200 at the moment. The trader has two options: raise their buying price or go to a different exchange (which seems logical). However, there is no guarantee that they will find the desired price on any of the exchanges. The solution is liquidity aggregation. If the exchange C employs liquidity aggregation, it will be able to gather sell orders at favorable prices from the exchanges A and B and provide them to the trader. In this case the trader will see on the exchange C not only orders at $10,200+, but also aggregated orders from the exchanges A and B at prices starting from $10,000. As a result, the trader can close the order at the best available price as quickly as possible.
This is a simplified explanation that nevertheless captures the essence of the process and its benefit for individual traders. But the liquidity aggregation in a global sense has a much deeper meaning: it opposes market manipulators.
Market manipulation and how liquidity aggregation counters it
It is believed that the cryptocurrency market is less susceptible to manipulation compared to the fiat market. It’s true in a certain sense, since issuing of cryptocurrency is a predetermined procedure. Neither its creator, nor the token holders can print crypto banknotes or limit their issue by the sheer force of will. In this respect, the cryptocurrency market is free from manipulative influences.
However, it is wrong to assume that the cryptocurrency market is completely invulnerable. Although cryptocurrency assets are not subject to adjustments by central banks, they are very much dependent on the behavior of the so-called whales—owners of large amounts of cryptocurrency.
According to a study by Delphi Digital, 588 wallets hold $10,000,000 worth of bitcoins each. Most of the happy owners of these wallets are cryptocurrency funds and other institutional investors, but still there are individuals among them: Barry Silbert (about $200 million), Tim Draper ($150 million), Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss ($400 million) and, as rumor has it, Satoshi Nakamoto himself (900,000 BTC, which equals $4 billion). Having hundreds of millions of dollars at their disposal, whales have great leverage over the market. Cryptonet describes some of the most well-known:
Rinse and repeat
In order to buy cryptocurrency at a profit, a whale first starts selling it at a price slightly lower than the market average, which triggers a huge sell-off by short-sighted market participants. Thus the whale creates a perfect opportunity to buy high volumes of cryptocurrency at a much lower price.
Spoofing
An even more interesting method aims to simulate a market collapse. A whale places a large order to buy or sell cryptocurrency. Having put up a high price order to buy cryptocurrency, the whale waits for traders to start buying the overpriced asset anticipating a price surge. When the price peaks, the whale cancels the order and sells cryptocurrency at an extremely inflated price. The same technique works with selling, in this case the price is set significantly below the market average: traders see a large order at a low price and anticipating a plunge start selling off their assets.
OTC trading
While honest traders have to work under the keen eye of regulators, while the biggest trades are made in the black market. These are so-called OTC trades (over the counter). For example, such brokers as Circle and Cumberland give access to the market only to traders with orders starting at $250,000.
OTC trading is, of course, attractive due to cryptoasset prices which can be significantly lower than those on exchanges. What is truly unfortunate here, is that OTC players often return to the exchanges where they implement other manipulation strategies, reaping even higher profits.
It seems like the market is very vulnerable to reversals initiated by the whales. However, there’s a tool capable of considerably neutralizing the influence of manipulators: liquidity aggregation. Even if a whale wants to cause a global market meltdown by selling a large part of their assets at a low price, an exchange with liquidity aggregation will immediately gather orders from other exchanges, which will allow trading to continue at regular market prices. Thus, liquidity aggregation acts as a tool for interexchange arbitration that shields market participants from the psychological factor of price swings.
Liquidity aggregation on Serenity.Exchange
Liquidity aggregation is a closed process. Serenity.Exchange receives liquidity from major exchanges, while gathering it into a large pool with its own orders, thus multiplying the turnover. Among them are exchanges, cryptocurrency funds, trust management systems, and other financial organizations participating in the cryptocurrency market. Institutional clients are the recipients and providers of liquidity at the same time.
Exchangers

Открытых источников полно, но довольно редко можно встретить простые и понятные образовательные статьи, объясняющие как функционируют криптобиржи, как происходит торговля, от каких неочевидных факторов зависят курсы криптовалют и т.д. Все эти вопросы имеют решающее значение в успехе крипторейдинга.
Важным процессом на крипторынке является агрегация ликвидности. Одни биржи продают ликвидность, другие покупают, но какова роль трейдеров в этом процессе?
Обычно все материалы, посвященные теме агрегации ликвидности, ориентированы либо на профессионалов-финансистов и написаны сложным «профильным» языком; либо на потенциальных покупателей ликвидности и ориентированы на то, чтобы продать, а не информировать.
Мы взялись исправить эту несправедливость и изложить простым языком, что такое агрегация ликвидности и почему применяя этот механизм выиграет весь рынок.
Что такое агрегация ликвидности
Агрегация ликвидности — процесс объединения предложений о покупке/продаже актива от разных источников и направление их к исполнителям. Цель агрегации — предоставить трейдерам возможность покупать актив по близким к рыночным ценам.
В силу сильной волатильности криптовалютного рынка, цена актива на разных площадках может сильно отличаться. Представим три биржи: A, B, C. На всех биржах цена BTC колеблется от $10 000 до $10 300. Трейдер хочет приобрести BTC на бирже С. Но в данный момент на продажу имеются только ордера по цене выше $10 200. Следовательно, трейдеру придется либо повышать цену покупки, либо менять биржу. Смена биржи выглядит логичным решением, однако, нет никакой гарантии, что, придя на биржу A или B, трейдер застанет нужную ему цену актива. Решение проблемы — агрегация ликвидности. Если биржа C подключит агрегацию ликвидности, она сможет «собрать» на биржах A и B выгодные ордера на продажу BTC и предоставить их трейдеру. Следовательно, на бирже С трейдер увидит не только ордера $10 200+, но и агрегированные заявки с бирж A и B от $10 000. В итоге, трейдер может закрыть ордер по самой выгодной цене максимально быстро.
Это упрощенное объяснение, которое, тем не менее, отражает суть процесса и его пользу для отдельного трейдера. Но агрегация ликвидности в глобальном смысле имеет гораздо более глубокое значение, а именно — противостоит манипуляторам рынка.
Манипуляции рынком и как агрегация противостоит им
Есть мнение, что криптовалютный рынок менее подвержен манипуляциям по сравнению с рынком фиатных валют. С одной стороны, это действительно так, поскольку выпуск криптовалют задан изначально. Ни компания, создавшая криптовалюту, ни токенхолдеры, не могут волевым решением «напечатать» криптобанкноты или ограничить их выпуск. С этой точки зрения, крипторынок действительно защищен от манипулятивных воздействий.
Однако, утверждать полную независимость крипторынка нельзя. Хотя криптовалютные активы не подвержены корректировкам государственных банков, они очень сильно зависят от поведения так называемых китов — владельцев больших объёмов крипты.

Когда цена доходит до пика, кит отменяет ордер, продавая необходимое количество крипты по супер-завышенной цене. Тот же механизм работает и с продажей актива, только в этом случае – цена выставляется существенно ниже рыночной: трейдеры видят крупный дешёвый ордер и в ожидании падения курса, активно сливают средства.
Внебиржевые сделки
В то время как добропорядочные трейдеры вынуждены торговать под чутким надзором регуляторов, самые крупные сделки осуществляются на чёрном рынке. Это так называемые OTC сделки - over the counter. Например, такие брокеры как Circle и Cumberland, допускают к торгам только трейдеров с ордерами от $250 тысяч.
Привлекательность внебиржевых сделок, конечно же, в ценах на криптоактивы, которые могут быть существенно ниже биржевых. И самое неприятное в этой истории, что внебиржевые игроки возвращаются на биржевой рынок, где в дальнейшем реализуют другие стратегии манипуляции с целью еще большего заработка.
Выходит, что рынок практически не защищён от «разворотов», инициируемых китами. Но есть инструмент, который способен существенно снизить влияние манипуляторов – и это агрегация ликвидности. Даже если кит решит глобально обрушить рынок, продав большую часть своего актива дёшево, биржа с агрегатором ликвидности моментально «подтянет» ордера с других бирж, которые позволят торгам продолжиться по адекватной рыночной цене. Таким образом, агрегация ликвидности является инструментом межбиржевого арбитража, который защищает участников рынка от психологического фактора скачков цены актива.

Serenity.Exchange Development Report (September 11th–October 7th)
Dear friends! We continue to share updates on our progress. During the period from September 11th to October 7th we were implementing a number of improvements to Serenity Exchange, and now we're excited to share our progress with you:
1. Withdrawal application bug fixed. No more frozen windows. Now the application window closes correctly after filling out a withdrawal application.
2. Client identification process improved. Document upload errors fixed, appropriate notifications added, supported file extensions specified.
3. Transaction time errors fixed. The transaction history timeframes have been configured and the time of transactions is displayed correctly.
4. The same price orders bug fixed. Previously, not all orders with the same price were displayed in the order book. Now every order is shown and executed chronologically.
5. Password change form is displayed correctly now. Issues causing cyclic reloading and page freezing after clicking on the link in the email to change the password have been fixed. Automatically generated password now appears directly in the password change form.
6. TradingView databases updated. We always update software for libraries and charts. It's very important to ensure the security of our users when using third-party software.
This was the second progess report by the Serenity team. Here we have described the most significant improvements, but a lot of work also went into smaller issues. We will continue to inform you about our upgrades and innovations. Ask questions, leave comments: Serenity is always in touch!

Дорогие друзья! Как и обещали, мы продолжаем делиться обновлениями! За период с 11 сентября по 7 октября мы трудились над улучшением биржи Serenity и спешим рассказать о последних апдейтах:
1. Устранён баг при оформлении заявки на вывод средств. Зависающие окна больше не будут вызывать недоумение и тревожить пользователей. Теперь после оформления заявки на вывод средств окно заявки закрывается корректно.
2. Усовершенствован процесс идентификации клиента. Устранены ошибки при загрузке документов, добавлены уведомления, определены форматы загружаемых документов.
3. Устранены ошибки в отображении времени сделок. Таймфреймы истории сделок теперь настроены максимально точно — время сделок отображается правильно.
4. Исправлена ошибка в отображении ордеров с одинаковой ценой. Ранее, не все ордера с одинаковой ценой попадали в order book. Теперь попадают все, корректно выстраиваются в очередь и исполняются в соответствии с очередностью.
5. Настроено корректное отображение формы смена пароля. Устранены неполадки, вызывающие цикличную перезагрузку и зависание страницы при переходе пользователя по ссылке, отправленной в электронном письме для смены пароля. Автоматически подобранный пароль теперь появляется прямо в форме смены пароля.
6. Обновлены базы данных TradingView. Мы постоянно обновляем программное обеспечение для библиотек и графиков — при использовании стороннего софта это критически важно для обеспечения безопасности наших пользователей.
