1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Jumps Above $4,800 for the First Time on: September 01, 2017, 01:35:07 PM
There is many good news on Bitcoin that justifies the $5000 price which I guess will be here to stay by this weekend already.

Like that Bitcoin is even better than GOLD. Many articles in big newspapers on this soaking more traditional investors into where the profit is.

I dont see it as enthusiastic tho as many in the Bitcoin community. The references to bitcoin reaching 100k seem to be largely from people HODLING bitcoin and wanting it to rise.

Remember the tulips in holland? ... I guess people were just as enthusiastic until at some point it all crashed down.

Bitcoin has crashed a couple of times in the past, why exactly would it not crash again? Anyone got any good explanations for that?

I am HODLING my bitcoins of course but i am still a bit sceptic and the less people actually being sceptic, it scares me kinda Smiley

If this continues in future bitcoin value will be on 10k in some years.

In some years? Its rising like 1% a day or even more already. This would get to 10k within maybe 3-4 months if it keeps rising as it currently is rising.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Multi-Coin-Wallet do you use? on: September 01, 2017, 01:25:47 PM
Thanks 2bfree.

I use jaxx as it works great for me with BTC on the chrome browser, but I havent tried to use it for other curriences yet. The advantage tho of jaxx would seem to be that it actually does easily give you the private keys.

However at least for chrome browser its online only, will look if I can use it offline.

Any other multi-wallets besides coinomi, Exodus, jaxx?

Especially with an easy generation of different addresses would be great, AND display/export of the private keys.

One with an actual real use, and thats already signing LARGE real world contracts is this

https://www.dentcoin.com/dentcoin

But its not listed anywhere, i find it extremely frustrating not being able to buy any.

I believe they are on some chinese exchange but yeah I dont know how to buy from there.

This coin is still a risk but the people behind it seem pretty experienced, serious and unlike many altcoins that dont have a real use, this one could become huge in some areas (africa, asia).

Their business model is basically investing in unsed mobile data contracts, to resell it. One issue against this might be more and more service providers offering flatrates. I would suggest looking into the mobile markets of africa and asia , how popular/realistic flatrates are, before investing larger amounts.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DeepOnion going down fast on: September 01, 2017, 01:10:37 PM

haha September 2018 we will have maybe 5 alt coins, the rest will be shit coins with 0 value.

Please tell us which these 5 coins are so everyone can become a billionaire, thankyou Wink

The github for the coin is already dead lol, so anyone besides the sig spammers believe in DeepOnion?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinomi to store Altcoins - good idea? on: September 01, 2017, 01:03:16 PM
Thanks for the useful thread.

So you need to save this page for offline:
https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html

But my question is, how do you actually use it to see all your private keys?
I only know my 10digit app password and the 20? word pass phrase.

Like what is the root key?
How can it extract my addresses and keys from just this info?

Thanks Smiley
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Universal-Wallet] Coinomi (BIP44 compatible) on: September 01, 2017, 12:50:53 PM
I also have some questions. But first of all I am happy there is such software as Coinomi. Is there more similiar multi-wallets/universal-wallets? Or is coinomi the best/a safe choice?

The only complaint so far I have is that its a bit tedious to add more coins/wallets as you have to type the password every time. So when you still have no money in it, its easier to actually just start over, because intitially it will create all the wallets you need pretty fast and easy.

Someone asked how they can recover their different wallets, should Coinomi ever go down. I have a question related to this. Lets say I save the .apk so i could always reinstall the app even if it gets removed from Google Play for some reason (just in theory).

Would this be enough, the app and my "universal keyphrase" to restore all the wallets and get their private keys?

Can I use coinomi completely offline, to generate the wallets, AND see the private key for EACH of the wallets?

Because this right now would seem easiest for me:

Use coinomi offline on a tablet.
Generate the wallets offline (or will this need online?...)
Send the altcoins to the addresses from elsewhere, like browser/exchange.
Store safely.

Right now I cannot seem to find the option to actually view all my wallet addresses and private keys?

Would really appreciate some help on this, hope I did not ask it all too complicated (english is not my first language, apologies!)

You can try yobit for a start then progress to other exchanges like  poloniex, bittrex etc to find one you will find comfortable to use

Thankyou very much Zicadis for your help! It is really nice and I appreciate it greatly!

I was actually eyeing shapeshift.io as it seemed rather easy, but I do need to generate the addresses somehow of the different altcoins. Sadly some coins seem to be getting sold almost nowhere, I wonder how much investors who do dive into them, and still buy them from a chinese exchange or elsewhere, profit from them once (if) they come to bigger exchanges.

Will yobit/poloniex/bittrex create the wallets for you? I checked some exchanges but they only seemed to create bitcoin wallets. Not for all the altcoins.

If you have security concerns use the projects recommended wallet and avoid multi wallets, unless they are Ethereum ERC20 tokens or wave tokens you can use https://www.myetherwallet.com/ or wave wallet respectively to hold different altcoins.

Thanks again, I did check this out already today. Its a bit confusing from all the data you get, as I was just used to getting a bitcoin address + private key and here you get so much more. Also its new to me (coming from just bitcoin) that you actually just need an ETH address to be able to receive & manage some of the altcoins.

I did find an android App, Coinomi, that will create a ton of different wallets easily for you. But yeah, myether seems safer I guess. But why is this all so complex? basically for every coin you will need to dive thru their websites and hope you get lucky you find info how to get an address, or if it can be managed from your ETH?.....

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DeepOnion going down fast on: September 01, 2017, 12:10:56 PM

remember, 90% of the volume is the 'dev' selling premine chunks on novaexchange...

Is this confirmed? When I looked on Novaexchange a few days ago it was mostly smaller amounts being sold which seemed to be mainly by the people who jumped thru hoops with the sig spamming campaign.

People who are always busy chasing a free $ they will mostly sell them quick and then be broke again because they are always broke.

I am not sure how much this contributes to the price falling further ($2 now from $4 or $5) and if there is a chance it ever rising strongly. I guess the main issue with this coin is that there is absolutely 0 real use, and absolutely 0 intrinsinc value and absolutely 0 motivation for any investor to buy a couple when people get 1000s of coins for free for spamming a forum.

I actually found a similiar coin from a while ago, which also used tor network, and it did also go up to $3 or $4 but now its been at like $0.0001 or something for MONTHS with no action. I expect this is either by the same people (guy) or a similiar scheme.

But when I checked Novaexchange it didnt seem to me like somebody was selling large amounts, of course the owner might be selling in small chunks, but if you have any evidence for larger sales please share Smiley

So I would like to buy some new Altcoins but many exchanges only have few of them.
And I do have some security concerns about always installing new wallet software.

Is there some webservice or mobile apps that let you generate wallets for many of the
altcoins?

I realize there is security risks with this, but its mainly for some quick trading of
relatively smaller amounts, to then store them externally later.

Thanks!
