Has anybody tried using a Xeon Phi to mine? And is the algo we are using immune to the Bitmain X3?

So what is the deal with VIC exchange then? Is ROI going to be listed?

Any chance this energy saving/hash increase could be built into the wallet miner? Seems to me that the whole concept behind the coin being easy for everyone to use and available to all is somewhat diluted by the requirement to use an external miner software (to get maximum hash rates) and will put a load of people off doing this.

Just a thought - but I think this could get more people on board in the long run - it is a great move - I like the idea of a "run in eco" mode and then a button that say - you know what - use all my computer resources cos I have solar!

My wallets are now showing Block 75236 but the block explorer is showing 75235

Anyone else got this?

This coins is falling down Sad

I would not get too hung up about the price at the moment. There is not enough trading volume to think that the price on CyrptoHub is anywhere near the potential of the coin. If you go on there now and offer to buy 120 coins at 0.0000005 instead of 0.00000024 then that is what the value will be - but since there is so little being traded it is not a fair representation. Most people are mining and holding and when we get a few more exchanges and some publicity then the picture will change.

In this moment the network in 405kh, coinspool is 8.73kh, optiminer is 133kh and suprnova is 97kh.
The question is where is the rest of 167kh ? Is there a new pool created somewhere ?  Huh

Pretty high, increasing interest for ROI recently. It's probably solo, I don't know about any other new pool.

We have a great deal of interest picking up on the mining so let's hope that as the mining becomes more difficult the value will increase as people would be less able or inclined to sell it at lower prices...

Totally agree - I am terming all mine for 1 year and buying more when they are cheap!

The project is not bad, but I am a little worried ... Do you plan to hold an auction for new MN? And where can I buy coins Huh

I am buying mine here...

https://cryptohub.online/market/MEDIC/

There is almost no activity there....wouldnt use that place myself, stocks.exchange better place

true not much activity - but you can buy MEDIC there and transfer to your wallet if you want to hold it Wink

I have a couple of L3+ asics and would like to have a go at solo mining - is there a way to mine directly to the wallet with these?

thanks

Here are the steps to mine medic on your local computer:

1.  put this file in your medic folder or where the MedicCoin.conf should be   https://mediccoin.com/MedicCoin.conf
2.  run your Medic Coin wallet
3.  download sgminer  from the web and add this sgminer.conf file to the sgminer directory https://mediccoin.com/sgminer.conf
4.  start sgminer.

OK - I get the MedicCoin.conf bit, but you cannot download sgminer to an ASIC machine - all you can do is point it to an address. So do I just point it to the IP address of the computer hosting the wallet?

Is anybody else having issues with solo mining with the new hotfix wallet?

I left a couple of machines running all night that I know were mining a sensible number of blocks before but have nothing after 16hours or so.

On another note  lost about 4000 blocks on one machine when I updated. - I have a backup wallet.dat file - any way to recover these?

I've mined more blocks in the last 24 hours then i did last week...  Shocked

Yeah - I noticed my machine was going a bit faster than it should have been so I guess you are on the wrong chain too.

As it happens I had about 10 machines mining and not one of them was on the right blockchain, so I have been going though updating them all.

Solo mining appears to be broken though in the new wallet.

EDIT: finally mined one block, but I was mining around 8 every 24 hours before and now I am down to one. Dual Xeon 2630 v3.

OK - I just downloaded the hotfix and have read the instructions so I shall answer my own question in case anybody out there is confused by what has just happened like I was.

Point 16 says
16. After fully synchronizing hover your mouse over the green check mark in the lower right corner of the wallet and note the block number. Now compare that number to the official block explorer and make sure they match. The block explorer is HERE (https://roi-coin-blockexplorer.roi-coin.com/)

My comments - my little tick was not green - it is black - perhaps that shows it is out of sync?

I still think this should be the first line on the hotfix download page to aid people in checking without having to read through the forum threads or download the hotfix first.

I applied the hotfix and I'm in sync with explorer again. Thanks devs!
Is it safe to solo mine again?

Yes just as long as you match the official block explorer mine all you want!

Can somebody please be explicit on the command that should be typed into the consol (or the best method) to compare the wallet blockheight against the blockchain. I am sure I am not the only one who is not fully clued up on this type of thing. At the moment this is not very clear and really it should be the first thing that is listed on the hotfix download page to make sure that we are not hotfixing unnecessarily.

Thanks

What will happen if i have a wallet that I cannot update before the fork, I only use it to send some term deposit coin, its ok if I update after?

If your wallet is not updated at the time of the fork you will be banned from the network. You won't be able to mine, send or receive coins. Your existing coins will be fine and you won't lose them.

Hi,

So I have around 15 machines mining ROI at the moment and they all run their own wallets for mining and then payout to a centralised wallet. I will be away for a while and am just worried about this banned notion. Exactly when should we be updating our wallets and is it enough to update the central wallet which holds all the mined coins?

thanks
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] Setup your own mining pool. on: November 14, 2017, 05:43:01 AM
I tried following this guide in trying to setup a PinkCoin pool.  My setup is as follows:

Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
4 GB RAM
2 vCPU
Running on ESXI 6.5 host.

PinkCoin Daemon is compiled running and blockchain is sync'd

I get to the section of

Code:
git clone https://github.com/UNOMP/unified-node-open-mining-portal.git unomp
Code:
cd unomp
Code:
sudo npm update

This is where I get the following error

Code:
npm ERR! Linux 4.4.0-97-generic
npm ERR! argv "/usr/bin/nodejs" "/usr/bin/npm" "update"

It seems that I have all the correct packages installed as I followed the guide to the letter.  Is it possible that I need an older version of Ubuntu Server?  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Did you manage to get this working? I am stuck about here too.
