Worked for me. 2 rigs: before aggressive undervolt 2KW, after 1.75KW. Thanks:)
ps. I spent 4 hours cuz I have different cards:))

So how do stop all the gpu's but one from mining?

Thank you. Do you know how I can actually identify what gpu is in what pcie slot?

So does anybody know if you can set the fan speed for each individual card separately using PuTTY?

from first glance it appears not.  all settings for cards are global per rig.

From this software?  no clue.  on windows it's easy
plug monitor, stop mining for all gpus exept one ( using 0,1,2 etc) you will have one gpu hot, other no. that s how i did it.
plug a monitor and a keyboard
if u press "0"(zero), GPU0 will stop mining ( fans will spin the same), then press 2, 3 ( or how many gpus u have) instead if one. to enable them, press the 0,1,2 again

Hello there,

I have one question
since I moved to claymore 10.6 I have peakes in curent hash rate

Before that I had much more smoother curve. Is there something I can do with that?

Rig works stable at 29,6 MH/s. I have 5 pcs of flashed RX580 (8Gb) in rig.

I use this syntax
-wd 1 -r 1 -epool us1.ethermine.org:4444 -ewal XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.xxxxxx -epsw x -allpools 1 -asm 1 -mport 127.0.0.1:3333

and this is my OC setings
core 1155,1155,1155,1155,1153
memory 2215,2215,2215,2215,2210
core undervolting 930,930,930,930,950
powerstage 3
target temp 60 °c
minimum fan speed 30

Can I do something with  "-dcri" but I don't know where to start playing with it.

C/P
FINE-TUNING
ETH-only mode when ASM algorithm is used (enabled by default): change "-dcri" option value with "+/-" keys in runtime to find best speeds. If you get best speed at "-dcri 1" (i.e. you cannot find speed peak), use "-asm 2" option to enable alternative ASM kernel (available for Tonga and Polaris cards only).
NOTE 1: if GPU throttles (overheated) or if you overclocked GPU, best "-dcri" value will be different.
NOTE 2: speed peak can be rather short, so change "-dcri" value slowly, one-by-one.
NOTE 3: best -dcri values for ETH-only mode and dual mode can be different.

Thanks a lot for reply guys!
add "-dcri 8" to your config

Hey Titanick
have this problem with one of my rigs...
In ethermine.org see this.
Reported hashrate: 140.8mhs (real hashrate)
Current Hashrate: 14.8mhs
Average Hashrate: 14.8mhs
and in the SMOS console seems to be all good.
What´s happening here?
what can i do?

Hmm seems stange. I dont recall such case.
Can you check if this rig was just restarted and you saw new fresh values while pool was showing old values ?
Please check if that is happening again.
It could be so many reasons...
Can You check if console was refreshing and you seen new and new values ? Meaby console wasnt updating and you saw only some old results while in real the rig ws somehow hanged ?
It could be also pool problem ? It could be even hacker.
I have too little data to tell. If this happens again please try loggin via ssh to account miner and passwrod also miner and execute command: screen -x miner
If you will see full speed while pool shows something different then it is a miner problem or pool problem.
Also take a look at pool charts (how long it lasted etc)

hi. do yoi know why the OC values on dashboard are different from the ones I set? regards
It depends what OS you have (meaning what gpus ? R9 ? RX or NVidia ?)
In Nvidia you need to enter only OFFSET and not clocks itself so you dont write 4700 but values -100 to 1300 for example for memory.
Hi.I have amd gpus "4.11.0-kfd-compute-rocm-rel-1.6-148 16.60-373184" . It was ok with 7 gpus but after i added the 8th, 2 gpus show core of 1035 instead of 1150. i have 2 psus (1000w and 750w) each with 4 gpus. Thanks

Hi guys first time tryng to build some rigs with smos its for a client i try with 4 different rigs none could boot with more than 4gpu

All gpu rx 570 580

Mobo Msi z170a Mate

4gb ddr4

intel g3930

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I update to lastest bios i could managed to get +5 gpu running on windows 10 with 4g and gen 2 But cant get more than 4 on SMOS  it only boots on pci gen > auto ------- when i enable 4g for 5th card it wont load smos it random pixel all screen  same happens if i try any config besides gen>auto or if i try the 5th card without 4 it boots but give me error, i really try many ways but cant get this set up to get more than 4 on smos  if anyone have any idea how can i make it work i will really appreciate it guys,,,,

My best regards

Hi,

I have the same problem with 5 CG SmOS does not load and the rig reboot in loop  Sad

MSI Z270-A Pro / Intel G4400 / 4 1070 GTX + 1 1060 GTX

Enable 4G
PCI Gen 2 or Auto no change for 5 GPU

SMOS works very well with 4 CG.

Sorry for my english im french

Thank you for your help Grin

i saw that u need vios v1.7 to get more working and gen 1. maybe it helps

Hi Guys,

I'm writing this post hoping that there is someone who could help me with some answers. I'm new in mining, as you all were in the beginning so I'm still trying to find my place in the huge amount of info. Smiley

Well, I've just set up my RIG (6 x XFX RX 470 8gb) and I'm currently trying to understand if the frequencies for memory and gpu shown in the SM console are the stock frequencies of the video card or the values I see there are overclocked by SMOS? It's currently show me 1180/1950/card.

Do you have any info on this matter?
if you OC the gpus you ll see those values, if not, the stock ones.

Hi guys!

Im new is SMOS, currenctly im using windows, but i want to change to SMOS. I tried it today and works fine, but the fan control not works. I add in the oc settings a minimum fan speed % and target temperature but do nothing and the OS let the card overheat...

I tryed with:
SMOS latest release Operation System ( for nvidia one)
GTX 1050 Ti 4gb Gainward (direct plugged in not trought usbriser)
Claymore eth+pasc / ewbf zec miner too

It cannot handle fan speed, but i dont know why. Is simpleminingos can handle nvidia's fan?

Thanks for help Smiley

fan speed it s fixed X% and target temp is fail safe ( shuts off when temp is reached)

But the minimum fan speed (%) do nothing its just stay under the minimum fanspeed... Is it normal?

I've had this problem for 3 days. different cards, different risers. can't find solution yet. What mobo do you have? Is it a 270-A?
fan speed isn t a " minimum fan speed". smos doesn t adjust the fan speed when your gpu get hot. yes, a270a

Great. Came back from work, and this thing had crashed again.
Hours wasted again.
Restarted manually and the GPU clock frequencies were sky high!!! WTF

Now I set overclock to 0, and the clocks are still over what is considered stable. Have to downclock to achieve previous overclock settings now.. There is a serious bug here.
same here for couple od days. 2 amd gpus at 1035 core , then 970, back to 1035, instead of 1150

Hi all,

Can anybody recommend a LGA 1151 mainboard which is running 8 (nvidia) GPUs with SMOS?
The mainboards specially designed for mining purposes are all sold out so I'd like to know if maybe a ASUS Z270P would work.

I have spent hours in trying to get a 7-8 GPU setup work with a MSI Z170A with SMOS. The best I can achieve is 3 GPUs. Angry

Thank you in advance!

I can confirm that I have been partially successful in making the Asus Z270-P work with 6 Palit 1060 cards - with one big caveat - two of the cards, GPU0 and GPU2, are only hashing at half capacity.

The jury is still out on whether I'm having hardware or software issue - or both.

I think I'm having several issues at once, which kind of make it hard to track down. I changed two of the cards from 1070's to 1060's in the hope that managing just one type of cards would simplify things but they didn't. I'm also having issues with SMOS web interface changes not pushing through to the rig - it remains stuck on the same algo/currency/pool even though I try to change the rig group to something else, and the OC and Watt settings have no effect. But the strange thing is that the rig reboots after changing the settings, just as if it was restarting because of the changes - but everything remains the same when inspecting the console. This seems like a SMOS issue, but I can't be sure.

The two GPU' s running at half speed could be a nicehash related issue, as some googling around have revealed that people have had issues with this when mining to nicehash. Easiest thing to do would be to change to another pool to see if that made a difference, but then SMOS is refusing to push pool setting changes through, leaving me stuvk with nicehash ATM. Bit of a catch 22.

I was thinking I'd try Pimp OS as soon as I have a little spare time just to see how that affects things, but ATM I don't have much spare time...

I currrently have 8 GPU's on ASUS z270-a, ASUS z270-p and ASUS B250H, They all working flawlesly. You can take your pick.
any settings for z270-p? I could get only 7 overclocked  Amd gpus, the 8th was 0 mh and crashed the rig

Ummm...Changedmy mobo from asus z270-p to asus z270-a, using the same usb stick, and on dashboard i have a new rig why?

That is exactly why - because you changed the motherboard.
Man that was fast:)). Thank you, sorry for the dumb question then:). any idea on the pcie order on asus z270-a, have 8 gpus

I have a z270-a too. Din't bother to check the pcie order....Why would you need it? You can see and configure everything you need based on the dashboard information.
Cuz i have a Frankenstein rig
3x armor 570 hynix
1x armor 570 elpida
2x pulse 580 hynix
1x pulse 580 elpida
1x pulse 570 elpida
Smiley

Damn, that is a complex rig Smiley I would suggest, maybe adjust oc settings slowly until you find the perfect setup.

One tip is: From what I saw, first 3 PCI-e are 16x ones, taken from the CPU down. Rest, I don't know.
Smiley). I'm swiching off all card exept one and checking wich in hot=). I ll share with you
So for those interested:
Starting from CPU down I have: GPU3,GPU0,GPU5,GPU4,GPU,GPU1,GPU6,GPU2. GPU7 is in the m.2_1 port. Hope it helps
