Congratulations on the recent lucky streak...
If you mined at Kano since August of 2017 you are now ONLY THIRTY-FIVE  (35) BLOCKS BEHIND 100% expectancy.
If you mined since Oct you are ONLY NINETEEN (19) BLOCKS BEHIND 100% expectancy
Ha funny - trying to scare people with incomplete statistics Cheesy Cheesy
Now try comparing the numbers with your favourite PPS pool Cheesy

Top "Block Statistics" table shows the 'over time' average results for the pool Smiley
... and there's only one in there that's below 100% PAPPS - 100 blocks - ~6 months.

Code:
					PAPPS%
Last 5 Blocks 7.4days 163.74%
Last 10 Blocks 19.0days 146.99%
Last 25 Blocks 11.5wks 105.10%
Last 50 Blocks 20.6wks 110.39%
Last 100 Blocks 26.6wks 88.97%
Last 250 Blocks 38.0wks 100.96%
Last 500 Blocks 57.2wks 114.27%
Last 1000 Blocks 86.2wks 104.12%
All - Last 2219 Blocks 182.7wks 105.83%

See, when you don't understand what the numbers mean, you make stupid posts like you have Smiley

You wont find a single PPS pool that's paid over 105% for the past 3.5 years.
Or how about over 114% for the past year and a bit Smiley
You will, however, find them who have paid over 89% for the past 6 months though Smiley

The number go up and down, obviously, it's called ... a big word for you to read up about ... random.

Don't mess with Kano-san when it comes to the math...you'll regret it!

Bitmain Warranty did not say what the problem was. The board they repaired is still running fine 3 months on.

I was a bit surprised as I thought they may just return me any old repaired board but it was actually the same board I sent out there. I recorded the board serial number before it went and the same board came back Smiley I did have to mail them quite a few times for status updates and the were a bit slow replying to mails.

It cost me £18 to ship to the US $175 for the repair, $25 for the postage US to UK and then, the real stinger, £46 import duty.
If you look real close to you see any new chips? Board modifications? I'm doing S9 board repair and the problems that cannot be seen cosmetically are always the most difficult. I'm always gathering information on past repairs (there's no sense in reinventing the wheel).

When the board came back from Bitmain Warranty I had a good look at it and there were no signs of anything being done! Having said that when I took it out the miner there was no sign of any issues.

I now have 2 boards that have stopped functioning, (from my other S9) both power up but show a shorter than normal ASIC status list of 0000 0000 in the miner status web page.

I have switched around control and power cables, but all attempts result in the same display output.

I was just about to send them off to Bitmain Warranty (strangely re-branded as myRig.com, I guess the real Bitmain objected to the use of their name?)

Are you still fixing boards? PM me.

Hi,
I live in the UK.

One of the boards has stopped hashing on my 14Th s9. It's been running beautifully 24/7 for the last 8 months.

I wonder if anyone knows of a reliable, and reasonably quick, repairer in EU, (or anywhere else for that matter).

I did send a board to Bitmain Warranty last year and they did a good job repairing it, but it took 8 weeks  for the round trip to Colorado and back to the UK.

Please PM me if you have any information.

Whilst we wait it out for the next block I thought I would give Kanosan a pledge.

In the 1960 Hollywood movie Spartacus, Kirk Douglas and his battered band of rebel slaves are surrounded by the might of the Roman army. The slaves are told they can all go free if they give up Spartacus. Kirk stands and declares, “I’m Spartacus”. One by one all the slave army stand and also declare “I’m Spartacus”.

Well…I am going to declare, “I’ll be the last miner in the Kano pool”.

(Incidentally in reality, the Romans then crucified all 6000 of them along the Appian Way.)

Please do not make this thread too long or Kano will get cross. Just add your pledge to the bottom of your posts!

Not surprised we are struggling to get that block...at, 81hrs and 11 mins we only had 15 users...well we had 1111 and that's 15 in my book Smiley

yeah it is very likely dying on you.

and most likely it is a board or two.

not the controller.

definitely possible that the board is dying but for now it seems to be working from the local side, so i was wondering why the pool side hr hadn't moved.  but it's slowly coming up now (>10.5TH/s) so the number on the workers>>workers page of kano.is must be a little bit longer average than what i expected.
Your hash rate can take an hour or two to level out.
Of course that can be high or low on the pool, but it takes a while to converge.

Also, of course, if you were almost continually mining, i.e. the stop+start was short, the 1hr hash rate will take longer to average out since it's not 'starting from now at zero' but instead averaging out the longer running lower hash rate with the higher new hash rate.

Hi,

I have had a very similar experience. Had a bit of a power spike and middle board on one of my s9 just stopped hashing. Sounds exactly like your board. Everything working except no hash showing in the pool and board just showing no hash, (so kind of not working, but working!).

I moved controller cables from working boards to the dud one to see if that helped...but that did  no joy  Cry. I left it running for a couple of days but that did not help either.

Have just, (today) sent board off to Bitmain Warranty USA. I am in UK so may be in for a long wait. Still the s9 is still pushing out 8 (ish) Th/s on the two remaining boards.

I'll let you know how it goes...

Hi,

Been with Kano since about May and love the forum chatter.

I have an S9 and one of the hash boards has gone west. It still powers on but fails to hash. The other two boards are fine.

Bitmain Hong Kong say send the full miner back and they will repair it. I live in the UK so that will be expensive, plus I lose the hash power of the remaining boards. I contacted Bitmain Warranty Colorado,USA. They say send the board they will repair for between $90 and $300 depending on the problem, and give a (massive  Undecided ) 30 day warranty!

Does anyone have any experience with this outfit?

Thanks,

G.

Hi,

I have a dead s9 board too. Tried to contact bitmain warranty too (automated reply then nothing else).

I am in the EU too.

What I would like is to be able to send the board to someone to get it repaired then get it back. Bitmain China want the whole miner sending back! It's still functioning on 2 boards and doing 9Mh/S. Why send it back? It will cost a fortune and mean the miner will be off line for 2 months.

Anyhow, just sharing your pain.

G.
