1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more GPU or go in FPGA ? on: October 14, 2018, 02:28:44 PM
Bad time to scale the operation any bigger imo.  Profits are too low unless you have near free electricity so risk vs reward is heavily tilted one way.

With the kind of money your looking to put into it on top you could get a really nice solar setup which could aleviate your electricity cost issue and increase the profitability, but you would need to get the ROI on that as well.  Its one good poing is it would always have furure money saving applications.

I can't wait to try one of these.  If it works as stated it will be a big help to me personally. Where I live electric isn't very expensive, and because I'm disabled mining even the 200 or so dollars a month helps me to keep my home. The US government is having a great time screwing with medical benefits. If it helps me make a few extra bucks a month then its worth it.

After doing this I seem to have lost the 36 Dollars that I had accrued. Is there any way to get this back or is it just lost?

Is the general consensus that other cryptocurrencies will go up after the correction? Just wondering because it seems like what I had in other coins which I bought during the run have gone down a little bit more.  I figured I could catch a break there as a lot of people pulled out to dump into the top dog.

Will btc keep going hard until 7k I wonder  Huh

I think you might be right...  I'm just trying not to let it annoy me that I pulled my BTC out before the biggest run.

Where did you learn the most?

And here comes the market correction.....

Seriously though, watching this new high has given me a new perspective on the volatility. I'm just waiting for the market to correct.  I just can't see it sustaining this level so fast.

Well, I should be ok in that department. I've learned to have patience over the years.

I wasn't really trying to make a living.  I'm not dealing with a large amount.  For example, I started about 5 months ago with 600 bucks and have 1024 now. I'm just doing it to make a little here and there when I can. It's definitely not a job. It's just really hard to do anything with this kind of injury. Sometimes the pain is really unbearable.  I have had 4 operations and need 2 more.  To be honest, I lost more when my wife left after 16 years then I could ever lose doing this. But that's beside the point. I understand what you're saying though, that's why I don't spend or put in more than I could afford.

Me either really.  Being on dissability, I have to buy low and sell high.  Losing is not really an option.  I barely make enough to live on so it's kind of like learning a job for me.  I broke my neck and lower spine so getting a regular paycheck is out for me...

I had sold it early yesterday trying to pick some profit, and it just kept going up after being sideways most of the night...  Man I could kick myself right now!!

don't kick yourself, know that bitcoin is good for holding long term. and that is the easy move for everyone. if you want profit and want to trade you can set aside some portion of your investment for trading. try not to trade with all. and keep the rest in cold storage for long term and enjoy the rise.

I sold at 6220 and it's still annoying!  I either need some Xanax or I just need to get used to it. Being disabled it's something I see while I'm watching TV.  Looking at past trends it does seem to come down but it's the lost profit you get annoyed over.

Regardless of the fact that you know it's going to happen sometimes, don't you get a little pissed when you miss a massive run like right now...  I just watched BTC go up over 300 in 15 minutes...   Uggg!
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining in 2017? on: October 31, 2017, 06:17:05 AM
I'm using the Nice miner just because I already have a high end rig.  I heard they pay, it's not a scam is it?
16  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Longest wait on: October 12, 2017, 03:53:39 PM
Well, that ends my longest wait. I wish it had gone through yesterday..  It would have made me a lot of Bitcoin!  But better late than never.
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Longest wait on: October 12, 2017, 01:35:04 PM
It will go through eventually though right?  I mean if its possible to lose my money I just lost a lot of faith in the system itself.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Longest wait on: October 12, 2017, 01:24:00 PM
Whats the longest wait you've had for a transfer to go through.  I used shapeshift late last night and it still hasn't come through. I just did another one and it went right through.
