@ All with Vega 56 with Hynix HBM2:

I read here, that the most V56 with Hynix having issues if the frequency is higher than 890Mhz.

I have one V56 Hynix running well @890/0915mV
A second V56 Hynix has issues with this settings and brings GPU errors

What voltages do you apply in Wattman/OverDriveNTool/Regmods???

Please let me know. THANKS

I am not certain if raising voltage will assist with higher core clock without throwing invalid shares, but what I did was merely reducing the mem clock until no error was thrown. If increasing voltage will allow the HBM memory to hash at expected hashrate I would have done so. But so far it doesn't seems to be the case (able to push to 930 mem clock, but no amount of voltage bump will fix the invalid calculation error).

Thanks! This helps a lot :-)

So it seems aftermarket cards use Hynix memory and do not seem to overclock so well? Few I have seen struggle to maintain 950.

We’re all reference cards Samsung memory?
Mine are Samsung (Vega 56) One card can't go stable beyond 900. Some of them start failing around 930. One I tested worked at 980 but I don't know which one now and it takes forever to try one by one. So currently my rig has 1 card at 900 and 5 cards at 925. Maybe Samsung mem is overrated?

Yeah maybe. I thought it was common to get them to run 1100mhz.

As far as I know, if you have a V56 with Samsung, it should be able run around 1100Mhz, but you have to flash a V64 BIOS on it.
For my V56 with Samsung it works.

does anyone have experience with this V56?
MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 Boost OC
https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-Vega-56-Air-Boost-8G-OC/Overview

Hashrates and setup would be great
even if someone can tell wether the v56 regmods work or not.
THANKS
i have this 3 pics, all of cards have Hynix HBM. so,i set up memory clock 890@900mv core 1400mh stable.with ~1800H/s.
powerplaymod is working fine same AIB card's. Cry Cry Cry

Did you try pushing your Hynix memory to 930 or 950 mem range? Does it hash in good result? Or just throwing invalid shares all around?

Thanks.
temp is around 55-60 fan rpm 3000-3500. bit higher becouse i use Onda B250-D8P. its close by GPUs.

pushing memclock to 930 is can. but show invalid shares.   940 is unstable.  Sad Sad Sad
Maybe you have high temp. issues.
What are your HBM2 temps

Okay, I guess it is not that bad. Having more is always better....
What about the temps?

Do all Vegas in reference design have Samsung HBM2?
Yes, when reference cards were made, only Samsung had HBM2 available. The aftermarket cards were late in part because Hynix wasn't ready.
Thanks :-)

just a question:

I can but a GIGABYTE RADEON RX VEGA56 in reference design.
It will be delivered next week.
Now I am concerning about the HBM2...

Do all Vegas in reference design have Samsung HBM2?

Anyone mining ETH+PASL or PASC? what's your profitability daily?

Hi,

I am bit surprised, since I expected less power consumption.
Even ETH only takes 182W from the wall.
But PASC is very CPU intensive

Here my results  (V56 w. 64bios)

-1408/1100@895
DCRI 30: ETH 36,2mhs & PASC 1088mhs 265W
DCRI 25: ETH 40,5mhs & PASC 1000mhs 275W

-1100/1100@895
DCRI 30: ETH 28,6mhs & PASC 860mhs 210W

ETH only
-1408/1100@895
DCRI 30: ETH 43,9mhs 202W

-1100/1100@895
DCRI 30: ETH 43,8mhs 182W

... Is there any command how to avoid of using integrated gpu? ...
You need --opencl X where X is the same number you use in stak-amd.
Also, GPU cards start from 0. Try first with one card. G0 is the first card on index X.
Just try a few combinations and start simple (1 card).
You'll figure it out. I had the same issue but now mining with opencl 1 and all cards -G 0,1,..,n

Good luck.
Hi,
Thanks, I am  finally able to run this program.
What I saw during the run, is that sometimes some of the gpus shows 0h/s but shortly after that showing just normal ammount of h/s. Is it normal?
And last question, what is your temperatures of cards guys?

My Tempus See around 55°C

Hi guys,
Is there any command how to avoid of using integrated gpu?
Because of this, I am unable to run this program. Its keep saying no blockchain detected and so on.
Thank you!
--opencl selects the cl index to use. try 0 1 2 3 4 etc.
Hi, thats not working.
igpu still in use.
Try the -G 1 option
Please send your .bat w/o address

You can check http://www.gandalph3000.com for latest versions of cast XMR.

Maybe an optimized version for your GPU is available.

bat file:
cast_xmr-vega --help
cast_xmr-vega -G 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
cast_xmr-vega -S xmrpool.eu:5555 -u Huh.default %*

*.bat file (just a single row!) just an example:
cast_xmr-vega -S pool.minexmr.com:3333 -u <YOUR ADDRESS> %* --opencl 1 -G 0,1,2

--opencl 1 : your OPENCL plattform, you have to figure out could be "0", "1", "2" etc.
-G 0,1,2 : This example is for three cards. If you have one card try 0 (maybe this is starting from 1) figure this out as well

good luck

What config did you use with xmr-stak-amd? Vega56 doesn't like high intensities with xmr-stak. cast-xmr is way better for vega56 if you are not concerned with closed-source risk ))

I'm running 2016/1600 and 2016/1736. Both have the same issue.

I've been following the reddit definitive guide and it mentions no problems with those intensities.
At some point I remember lowering them to 1920 / 1524 but was not stable either.

Can you suggest some intensities to try ?

PS: yes, I don't like running closed source. I even compiled stak-amd myself, but it makes no difference vs. the stability issue above.
My v56 runs fine with intensities of 1760/1760 @1930 H/s

Hi guys, what is your gpu temp for these settings, Core Frequency: -10.5%, Memory Clock: 1025 MHz, Power Limit: -23% of your rx vega 64? is 75 to 78 temp normal?
For my guess it is too much.
Around 60°C and max 65°C is okay.

Also on my card i had to change soc to 1200 to be able to overclock memory higher than 1100.
how to overclock the memory above 1100?

Check this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1633446/preliminary-view-of-amd-vega-bios

why overclock
with 1100 work good and satble
2005h avergae

Is that with 56 or 64?

With 56 with the 110@900mv it didn't hit 2k for me, was more like 1970ish. And with the soc overclock i can even run 1148 at 885mv instead of 900.
With more than 200Watt you can reach more than 2000H/s.
With 1408-1100@905mV my V56 can mine 1970H/s with 165 Watt

Yeah i'm running at 1408-1148@905mv (with 885mv on memory instead of 900) so the power usage should be around the same i guess?

Waiting for my killawatt Sad

With fingers crossed: Yes Smiley

I hadn't originally planned on putting this out there, but some other asshole decided to charge a fee for this info. Fuck that guy. Here's how you run 4+ Vega at full speed while mining XMR.

Basic Users:

1. Use the Blockchain drivers.
2. Open up your device manager.
3. Open up the "Display Adapters" dropdown.
4. Right click on one of your Vega's.
5. Disable that fucker.
6. Wait a few seconds.
7. Right click on the Vega you just disabled.
8. Re-enable that fucker.
9. Repeat steps 4-8 for the rest of your cards.
10. Enjoy mining at full speed with as many Vega as you damn well please. Probably.

Advanced Users:

The previously described process is a bit of a pain in the ass. Let's automate it.

1. Get your hands on the Windows Device Console (Devcon.exe). This will let you disable/enable devices from console.
2. Run the command devcon.exe FindAll * to generate a list of all the currently attached devices and their hardware IDs.
3. Search your newly generated list for "Radeon RX Vega." You should find something like this:
Code:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&3AAC35E3&0&000000E7 : Radeon RX Vega
4. The part to the left of the colon is what you need. Shocking, I know. Put that thing into a batch file that looks something like this:
Code:
@echo on
cd C:\Users\Mythic\Desktop\Startup
timeout /t 5
devcon.exe disable PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&3AAC35E3&0&000000E7
timeout /t 15
devcon.exe enable PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&3AAC35E3&0&000000E7
timeout /t 15
OverdriveNTool.exe -p0Vega0 -p1Vega1 -p2Vega2 -p3Vega3 -p4Vega4 -p5Vega5 -p6Vega6
timeout /t 10
cd C:\Users\Mythic\Desktop\xmr-stak-amd
xmr-stak-amd.exe
5. Run your batch file at startup as an administrator. Enjoy never having to toggle the HBCC switch again.

FAQ:

Q: So, Mythic, how exactly does this enable HBCC on cards 5-7?

A: It doesn't! HBCC Does nothing to improve your hashrate! Turns out the drivers are just shit and are bugged when Windows first boots up. Who would have guessed?

Q: But Mythic, does that mean I don't need 16 GB of ram to run my cards at full speed?

A: Correct! 4 GB of ram is completely sufficient!

Q: If I wanted to donate some pizza money to the broke ass college student that typed this up, how would I do so?

A: You ask the best questions! I doubt I'll get anything before more well known people/websites copy everything I just said (with no credit, obviously), but here are some addresses just in case.

i use nanopool - Share difficulty is static and equal to 120000.

its small diff?Huh?

Should be ok.

But maybe not ok
because i have  10% rejected shares Sad
when you update program
soon?
1-2 days?
I had a high value of rejected shares with nanopool as well
You could try another pool Wink
