1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to $5,900.... on: June 22, 2018, 05:23:43 PM
This is the second time Bitcoin will go to $5,900 this year. Now it is $6,140. Dream run over ??

Ever heard of double bottom? Cheesy

Also, it's a long term investment. People were treating it as such for many years. Short term price doesn't matter as long as there's a recovery at some point. If we go below the entry point of Japan and Korea, which is somewhere around 4000 USD you can start worrying, but for now it's all fine.
I have yes, and to me it appears as we are at a triple bottom with the 6k line. But please tell me why is 4k the spot where we should freak out? Was there a ton of entries at that point? And where could I see this data if true. Please and thank you!
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134 pages of complaints filed to the SEC against Coinbase on: June 22, 2018, 05:16:52 PM
This is just another reminder to not trust exchanges with your money and to not use them any more than necessary.

How will you buy and sell Bitcoins if there are no exchanges ??
You misread that post and it says don't use them anymore than your basic need. Don't leave funds on an exchange, not even for a day because that could be the one day they go down. This happened with me on Bitgrail and I gotta say it sucks to lose a lot of money that way.
3  Economy / Exchanges / Re: exchange problems on: June 22, 2018, 05:12:13 PM
1. If you're going to deposit a big amounts, deposit them in small portions as exchanges have deposit (technical) issues so If for some reason the deposit didn't go through, you won't lose everything.

2. Always withdraw your funds as soon as you finish trading, exchanges can close your account and enforce KYC/AML verification without prior notice.

3. Always take a backup of your 2FA. An exchange may not be able to help you If you lose it.

And no, just because an exchange is charging higher fees, doesn't mean that It's more secure or safer.
Especially this. HitBTC charges astronomical amounts for deposits and withdrawals and while they are a decent exchange, they certainly aren't the best around. Compare that with the likes of Kucoin and Binance who had a 50k satoshi withdrawal fee, and you can clearly see that statement is nowhere close to being true.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain issue: scaling. on: June 22, 2018, 05:10:10 PM
The longer the chain becomes the slower the transaction gets. To solve that problem we use the lightening technology. This technology takes the responsibility and makes the transaction faster.
This is true but also do realize that scaling will be an ever present issue with blockchains. Once you get LN and the capacity to have transactions are raised, people will use that space instantly. Then people will say "LN is stuck and scaling issues are happening again." That is why we will never be free from this scaling debate, I implore you to forget about this and move on to something that is of real concern for Bitcoin.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we must study Economics at University? on: June 20, 2018, 08:31:52 PM
Because it literally is how societies function, and if you can have a sharp understanding of that, then you stand to gain a lot. Especially when societies are cyclical then you really set yourself up for success by learning the ins and outs. Also, it is quite interesting to see how and why societies function on top of trying to make money from it.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is rare on: June 20, 2018, 08:24:53 PM
That coupled with the fact that ~4 million Bitcoins are lost as well, makes them extra scarce. I am waiting for the day the market realizes many Bitcoins are  missing, and responds accordingly.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a blockchain system be destroyed? on: June 20, 2018, 08:21:15 PM
Well if you have a 51% attack you could control the network therefore easily destroying a blockchain. Bitcoin Gold got attacked recently and if it can happen to a currency that big, hypothetically if can happen to almost any currency (excluding Bitcoin obviously Wink).
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is one and only no matter what on: June 20, 2018, 08:15:02 PM
There are a few currencies right now that are above 1 BTC each but the supply is extremely limited and the currencies themselves are either scams or pump and dumps. The largest BTC value of a true currency I have seen was that of Byteball when it made a high of 30 million sats last year, maybe we will see that next bull run too who knows.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the point of bitmex? on: June 20, 2018, 08:11:46 PM
So I just signed up for bitmex and Im checking it out it has 4 coins and the only pair is usd but when I click on deposit it only allows me to deposit btc. I don't understand how to trade the other currencies if I could only trade with USD.

Also are you able to transfer usd into your bank account from bitmex?

Has anyone used this exchange do you like it?
It's a bit complicated , I adivse you to watch some youtube videos and read more about it before working with it . If you are not an expert or a good trader i really don't recommend trading with levrage as it's very risky and could easily make you lose your capital. Be safe out there ,because I have many friends who thought they are going to make hella money on bitmex yet they all got rekt.

Hey ok cool thanks for the advice yea I signed up and then was just like uhhhh..... LOL But when I get some time I'll check it out I'm more of a holder than a trader though (too much time/energy/effort to trade) I'd rather just hold not pay attention then one day just cash out Cheesy

The easier the better in my mind, although trading really intrigues me I'd just think I might lose money too easily Cheesy
I do like and use Bitmex but to me it depends how you approach gambling. If you have your senses and don't chase losses then it is a completely fine tool to use and try increase your BTC bankroll. But if you gamble and chase losses then stay clear 1000%.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Law firm says Tether has enough Dollar reserves to back all USDT in circulation on: June 20, 2018, 08:08:32 PM
Lol, so they got cleared by somebody who has an extreme bias? Oh and lets not forget its not a full audit, I am still highly skeptical of Tether and this only makes me more skeptical moving ahead. Why run a half ass bias report? To fool the idiots as far as I am concerned, how stupid can you be Tether? Or rather how stupid do you think we are? Roll Eyes
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trade Vs HODL on: June 20, 2018, 08:03:29 PM
I prefer the hodl method, although that has hurt me very much lately. Day trading does seem like the better route overall, but if requires much more skill and dedication.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real life usage of bitcoin on: June 16, 2018, 04:34:00 AM
Give it a couple of years but when LN comes out and is fully functional, you will see a drastic difference from today's network to that day. It will take a while, but I believe the wait will be worth it.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is the vehicle, we run it on: June 16, 2018, 04:28:11 AM
A lot of posts are about bitcoin (eg bitcoin for illegal transactions ... bitcoins change lives ... bitcoin destroys the world ... bitcoin poison and so on) but basically it's all humans that move .. bitcoin is the tool. Good bad how the tool is how the man who runs. is it worth blaming bitcoin. What is your opinion?
I agree with you. good or bad bitcoin is how to use that.! it is also like money, is universal. can work anything and how it works. it's just that, many people use bitcoin for badness (fraud, crime, etc.) because it is anonymous. so bitcoin looks bad.
But the thing is it isn't that anonymous, if you use enough resources a trail can link an address to you, don't forget KYC exists and I bet 99% of you are verified somewhere.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing value is nothing surprising, will continue on: June 16, 2018, 04:20:30 AM
Bitcoin already have great achievement in past 9 years. From dont have a value and bitcoin price right now at $6500, highest price at $19k. I am believe bitcoin is good long term investment and still valueable investment
Bitcoin losing value because of greedy people who are trying to manipulate this market. Of course every market needs to dump so people can buy at a cheaper price and sold when it reaches the moon again. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are both great in the future, so better to keep on holding and become rich in the future.
And I think 6k is around near the bottom because this is a major support level on the charts. If we break this support anywhere all the way down to 1-2k is fair game. Let's hope 6k can hold now Smiley.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: What factors are affecting the rise and fall of Bitcoin's value? on: June 16, 2018, 04:16:58 AM
How the media reports information and who gives them that information. Not saying there is a conspiracy but it certainly seems like there is somebody working some puppeteer magic behind the scenes.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to buy BTC? on: June 16, 2018, 04:14:20 AM
Bitstamp, Kraken, Bitfinex, and a bunch of others as well mate. Pretty sure the 3 I listed are USA friendly as well, not sure about localbitcoins.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am not sharing my crypto love? <3 on: June 12, 2018, 04:10:57 AM
That is exactly why they say friends and business don't mix. Because if you don't succeed they will get upset and if you do succeed you will hardly get any praise. It is a lose-lose situation that needs to be avoided at all times. I have unfortunately learned that the hard way after investing with family.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bubbles a good thing? on: June 12, 2018, 04:06:06 AM
Honestly previously I was worried about the bubble and fearing it but now I understand it is a necessary thing that needs to happen, and it will humble a lot of individuals. Some will lose a lot, some will have prepared enough to take advantage, and some may lose everything. But the bottom line is that the technologies will further, and they will be discounted akin to when Amazon went from 1k to essentially nothing in the early 2000s. Ask yourself this though, where is Amazon now? Exactly, and that is how a few of these cryptos will progress, most will be left in the dust however.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency helping to bring peace, TODAY, to North Korea? on: June 12, 2018, 03:59:06 AM
In a very minor and small way perhaps, and I give props to those involved with Potcoin and Mr. Rodman. However, the major steps that need to be taken to integrate North Korea back into the free world will be done by the administration of the USA, and none other imho. I don't want them to handle everything, but seemingly they handle everything big in the world.

edit: After watching that video, maybe Rodman can play more than a minor role. I truly respect Rodman for undertaking this Kiss.
