Known Issue #2: Clients seem to have trouble syncing without using the addnodes. Looking into this.

Confirmed, client syncs fine after adding dogecoin.conf.
6  Economy / Marketplace / Re: NMCWatch.com - Namecoin Technical Market Charts on: July 21, 2011, 04:24:47 AM
Thanks for the feedback! I'll look at adding 15 min, 30 min, 4 hour periods.

I agree that 5 minutes is just about too small a period to be useful with the current frequency of trades. Too many 5 minute periods don't have any trades at all, so that chart ends up either rather empty.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Namecoin prices plummeting - opinions? on: July 03, 2011, 11:49:48 PM

As a user, I would prefer to be able to buy domains with BTC and not have to deal with namecoins.

Fortunately this service is already available, at http://register.dot-bit.org/.

I expect many more services will spring up to facilitate the purchase, administration and trading of .bit domains, in time.
8  Economy / Marketplace / NMCWatch.com - Namecoin Technical Market Charts on: June 29, 2011, 12:17:31 AM
Greetings,
I've created a site, NMCWatch.com, which displays technical charts and market data for Namecoin exchanges, in order to facilitate Namecoin trading. Market data is stored periodically from the exchange APIs and retrieved locally, allowing historical charting to complement live ticker displays. Bitparking.com exchange is currently supported. The site can be found here:

http://nmcwatch.com

Current features:

-- 5 minute/1 hour/1 day Open/High/Low/Close candlestick/volume charts for Bitparking.com exchange (BPX)
-- Market depth chart for BPX
-- Ticker for BPX

Planned features:

-- Price lines/moving averages
-- Support for BTCex.com (BTCEX) NMC/BTC and BTCEX NMC/USD
-- Namecoin network data/fundamentals

My thanks to doublec of bitparking and the other exchange owners who publish their APIs, without which this project would not be feasible.

Let me know if there are other features you'd be interested in seeing, and I can look at adding them.

There seems to be a bug in accountsettings.php. Changing line 151:
Code:
}else if($inputAuthPin != $authPin && $act){

to:

Code:
}else if($inputAuthPin != $authPin && $act != "addWorker"){

fixes the warning about 'invalid authorization pin' when adding a worker.

I'm registered under this name for -otc with positive feedback. I'd like to post a bug report in a thread in the Project Development section, which is what brought me to this thread asking for upgrade to Jr Member status. Thanks!
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Guiminer flags for 4830/5750? on: June 18, 2011, 10:31:49 AM
Hi,
Are there any particular recommended flags for either the ATI 4830 or 5750 under guiminer? I don't intend to overclock either of them so as to not lower their life expectancy too much.
Also if possible could someone explain what the flags do? (ie. "-v", "-w128", "-k", etc.)

Thanks

(The guiminer readme is available here: https://github.com/Kiv/poclbm)

-v enables vectors, which is faster on some cards.
-w is for worksize, and varies by card.

In general, you should look at the flags listed for the highest performing entry for your card on the wiki here:

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

where it appears that "-v -w 128" yields good performance on a 5750.

I can't start the miner.

Just getting non-stop
Quote
Error: unable to open display (null)
when fglrxinfo is called.

Driver is installed correctly ... I think
Quote
root@toor-desktop:~# aticonfig --list-adapters
* 0. 02:00.0 ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series

* - Default adapter

Did you set your display env variable?

Code:
echo export DISPLAY=:0 >> .bashrc
source .bashrc

Also, if you're running the miner as root, run the miner as a non-privileged user and see if the error persists. There's no need to be root for it.

I just followed these steps verbatim, but I get an error trying to run poclbm:

Code:

pyopencl made just fine, and its installed apparently. Any ideas?

Did you configure pyopencl with explicit directions to find the AMD APP SDK? I tried initially leaving off the explicit --cl-inc-dir and --cl-lib-dir and I got the same error you had. This fixed it:
Code:
./configure.py --cl-inc-dir=/path/to/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx32/include --cl-lib-dir=/path/to/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx32/lib/x86

Great guide. I just went through all this on my own yesterday before you posted this.  Cheesy

The only major difference with my process for 11.04 (besides running 32-bit) is that I did use the 2.4 AMD ATI SDK, and have seen 5-10% better performance than that shown for my card with the 2.1 SDK on the https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison page. I get 83 Mhash/s, not 78 Mhash/s as shown on the wiki for the ATI 4870.

Otherwise, these steps are more or less exactly what I followed!
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Ubuntu Server mining with ATI? on: May 07, 2011, 04:43:02 AM
Is it possible that xvfb would be part of a headless/x-less solution? I'm running desktop Ubuntu myself so haven't run into the problem, but xvfb gets used on Linux servers for things like specific web apps that need X but obviously don't benefit from the overhead.
