1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 06, 2014, 03:02:48 PM
Just a heads up that I haven't been able to make account changes at vert.bitcrush.info now to add withdrawal info or auto payment.  I received no e-mail to unlock this info and contacting the pool operator turned up nothing.

I have been down this road before with other altcurrencies so I would exercise some caution and/or flip to another pool.

I had 3 5850 got 1.5BTC a day 2 weeks ago.. Now I have 6 5850 again getting 1.5BTC a day...
Very Very sad...

5850s

And people are RIGHT NOW bidding 5830's up to $160 on eBay -- at least that's the going "market rate" on eBay for them. Which is ridiculous -- anyone hoping to MAKE MONEY is going to be disappointed, because you'll never see $160 from one of those cards. A person would be better off buying $160 worth of BTC.

5830s, unlike 5850s, do NOT get 0.25 BTC/day.  5830s only get 0.167 BTC/day.

Now if it wasn't $160, it might be an OK deal. Perhaps $130 at the absolute highest.
Really, what made the 5830 popular was the $110 price point. It's NOT the ultimate card for Bitcoin mining. There are plenty of cards that mine better than that card!

When I see people bidding the 5830 up higher than a 5850 or 5870, I have to shake my head. The 5850 gets about 350 MH/s and the 5970 gets about 365 MH/s, with moderate overclocking (no voltage tweaking).

Unfortunately, the smart people figure it out first, followed by the pretty smart, followed by those of average intelligence, followed by those of below-average intelligence.

Not everyone "figures things out" at the same time.

Just like with the Dot-Com bubble, just like with house flipping. There were some people who didn't know the bubble burst even after it burst! They still thought the bubble was intact (rather than burst). Those people, of course, lost plenty of money.

You want to be one of the quick ones -- one of the smart ones.

A 5870 can get 430 MH/s without touching the voltage.

My 5830s does 300 Mh/s at less noise and less heat than my 5850s (my 5850s are voltage locked since the stupid software won't adjust it without it being in crossfire, they are stable at 323 Mh/s).  My 5870s (without touching voltage), will only do around410-415 Mh/s.

If I was redoing my farm, I would only use 5830s but I agree that the price of $160 isn't a great deal for them.  I picked mine up for $110.

Cool thanks everyone...

Camron, I just replied to you via e-mail, you are paid out. Smiley

At this time I believe everyone who was expecting a PayPal payment under $2000 has already been paid, please contact me if you did not yet receive notification of an incoming payment from PayPal.

Also, we are now accepting MoneyPaks again, issues were resolved, and we can start accepting them again.

Thanks a ton  Smiley!  Are you guys still going to be using PayPal as a payout option or was this a one time thing?

TheGer, I just sent you a PM.

Is there any update on my transaction?

Same, said it would be sent out today and nothing.  This has been over 8 days and I unfortunately can't have that amount of lag time.  Bitcoin Exchange, if you plan on having any more delays, can you just please refund me my MtGox?

Edit: Problem resolved, thanks!

PM sent regarding my transaction.  Please respond when you get a chance.

Hmm, I wonder if he overlooked my transfer then?  I have been waiting since last Friday now to receive my payout.

I have a few unhappy sellers as a result of this transaction as they now have been waiting over a week to get paid.  I know there is not much you can do when PayPal decides to screw someone over but the fact that people who have recently done transactions are having their transactions completed before some who have been waiting a week, gives me a reason to be concerned.

Hopefully this is just a one time incident.

Edit: Issue resolved!

Just had my first experience, whole transaction complete in under 4 hours. Very pleased, will do business again. I just wish there was a WU/MG like service without the ridiculous fees.

seriously? Dang. I wonder if speed of service has to do with location? I sent my order a few nights ago and I'm still waiting on my Western Union MCTN. Posts like yours keep me hopeful that Bitcoinexchange is merely swamped with requests, and my order is in the shuffle. I chose BitCoinExchange for my first BTC transaction, so I'm a little nervous ;^^ but I see great feedback all over the forums for them, so I don't think I have much to be worried about.

x2, I am still waiting for my transaction to be completed (Mtgox for Paypal) from Friday.  I had a great experience prior to this so I am hoping to just chalk this one up to the whole Paypal issue but the delay is a bit concerning.

Edit: Issue has been resolved.

Have you guys looked at Amazon's payment service?  It may be a better alternative to PayPal (there is also reduced fees and pretty convenient for anyone not in the USA).

Received my money in Paypal today as promised.  Very smooth transaction, great buyer  Grin.

Hi,

I am in Canada and wondering what trading options are available for my MtGox account.  I only have about $300 USD so I don't imagine WU would be economical (it is hard to gather from the OP but would you buy my MtGox via Paypal?) for this amount.

Thanks.
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5850 Not Up To Speed on: May 09, 2011, 08:06:14 AM
I have same issue.  I have a Sapphire 5850 Xtreme:

OS: Windows 7
Miner: POCLBM GUI (any flags will cause the miner to crash)
Drivers: Latest
ATI Stream: 10.4
5850 Model number: Sapphire 5850 Xtreme Edition 1GB

Mine rate: 220 Mh/s @ stock clock, 240 Mh/s @ 775 Mhz, 262 Mh/s @ 850 Mhz

My card is not stable at 900Mhz so I have not tried it yet, I will probably need to adjust the voltage.

Does anyone know why  "'-v -w 128'" flag would cause my whole PC to lock up?  I can't seem to use any flags and I think this may be the reason why my mining rate is so low.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Flags do not work under poclbm on: May 07, 2011, 10:16:27 AM
Hi guys/gals,

I had a question I was hoping could be answered.  I am running two 5850s and I can't seem to get a Mh/s anywhere near what people are getting at the same clock/core/voltage.  For example, a recent poster was getting 340 Mh/s at a clock I can only receive 260 Mh/s.  The only difference seems to be the flags.  I have tried to put in flags (the "-v -w128), but it seems to crash the miner/PC or it can never actually receive anything.

I have SDK 2.4 with the latest ATi drivers running.  I was hoping someone could help me out or lead me in a general direction (already searched and read the FAQ with no avail).

Thanks.
