i have tried to send 0.0075 eth for matching... gas limit 42000 and gas price 8 gwei set.... but transaction cancellation showed with bad instructions. why???
Did you send it from a contract-type (as opposed to raw) wallet? Smart contracts are restricted from interacting with this contract. It looks like a large number of your other tx have also failed, so maybe that is the case? If not, you could try again with a larger gas limit (perhaps whatever your wallet recommends?). MEW recommends 64350, for example (although it only used 41571 last time...).

The .015 ETH has been matched, the balance is now .0075 ETH (which can continue to be matched, btw).
Because it is now below the .01 ETH threshold, a new master (or "Matchmaster") can now takeover via mastery().
If anyone wants to do so but is not sure how to call the mastery() function, please let me know and I'll be glad to help!

Last chance to take the .015 ETH! If no one else claims it by tomorrow, I will

.015 ETH still available!

FYI, etherscan is functioning normally again (ENS and ETH balance) so feel free to give it another shot

am i wrong to see the number in the etherscan? its writtern there -1 wei how is that possible that the balance is got -1 ?
but after i see it in the etherchain and there is writter 0.015 eth
Heh, no, you're right.. etherscan is currently showing -1 wei balance for all addresses and their ENS is down. I posted a link to people talking about it on Twitter in my last reply. Funny enough, the link to verify source code on etherchain ( https://etherchain.org/account_verify/) is also down. So right now, in order to verify both the contract's balance and source code you would need to check the source code on etherscan and then the balance on etherchain, LOL.

But the contract shows a zero balance. Am I missing something?
You're absolutely right, thanks for the heads up.. Looks like etherscan is having ENS and ETH balance issues (they have been having issues recently). Twitter users are confirming this. Here is the direct link to the contract on etherscan but as you can see the balance currently shows -1 on etherscan which is impossible... Here's the etherchain link. No ENS or ETH balance issues. We are getting the code verified there ASAP! Will update OP with these links too.

.015 ETH still waiting to be taken. BTW, after it's claimed someone else can become the new master. Anyone who needs clarification on how it works, just reply or PM me!

The initial .015 ETH is still available! First person to send .015 ETH gets their ETH back + 50%, or .0075 ETH (- 5%)... or, should be, .021375 ETH total.

ETH Match v2 deployed earlier today - see here. This thread now locked

Now LiveEthereum match, simple social experiment. Because game theory is fun - If you send ETH in the exact same amount as the contract balance, you get yours back plus half the contract balance (minus 5%). - If you send ETH *NOT* in the exact same amount as the contract balance (i.e. someone else beat you to the punch), current Matchmaster gets to keep it (minus 5%). - Any time the contract balance falls below the "mastery threshold" (10 finney aka .01 ETH), someone else can become new Matchmaster by sending >= 10 finney w/ a mastery() tx, and they will then receive the Matchmaster payouts. Notes: Actual gas cost/requirement should be 42000 but you can send w/ higher gas limit if you want (remember any overages are auto-returned). verified codecode @ githubcode auditcode audit changesIf you want to give it a shot and claim the first ETH, send your tx now! Initial balance is 0.015 ETH.

So wait, this newbie who just made his first posts (this thread) tells me to send him Ether to win the pot?
I too wonder why nobody has claimed this yet..
In case you weren't aware... as I stated in the OP... you can literally see the exact (verified) contract code. That is kinda the whole point behind ethereum... you don't have to trust anyone, you only have to look at the code and you know it will do what it says it will. Anyhow, I made 2 test tx here and here to show the inputs and outputs. As you can see, they are exactly as stated. And how does this classify as a social experiment?
Because I am interested in the game theory behind the contract, i.e., how people will respond and play the game (if at all!). The ETH is still up for grabs...

Still available! Current balance is .04 ETH... FREE .02 ETH up for grabs for the first maker! Surprised no one has claimed this after 45 minutes, I expected it to be taken immediately since you can verify the code in the maker() function!
